Assad says Syria is fighting foreign mercenaries

BEIRUT – In his first interview in nearly half a year, Syrian President Bashar Assad claimed Wednesday that his regime had captured foreign mercenaries who were fighting for the opposition in a bid to show his forces were fighting terrorists instead of pro-democracy activists.

Assad spoke in an interview broadcast on Russian state news channel Rossiya-24, signaling he has no intention of softening his position despite an international peace plan that includes a cease-fire.

He said the decision by the Syrian National Council to boycott parliamentary elections earlier this year discredited the opposition group. "To call for boycotting the elections, that's the equivalent of calling for a boycott of the people," Assad said. "And how can you boycott the people of whom you consider yourself the representative?

This is no surprise to us. The global elite thinks we cannot connect two and two together to deduce their endgame plan for Syria and the Assad regime.

It has been known from the very beginning of the Western-backed 'Arab Spring' that it was a concocted plan to overthrow secular dictators and replace them with fundamentalist theocrats drawn from the ranks of the Muslim Brotherhood, the very bane of any secular dictator, for their ideologies are clashing diametric opposites.

Following the overthrow of Col. Muammar Gaddafi's regime, over 600-1000 combat-hardened Libyan NTC / Al-Qaeda fighters were airlifted into Turkey to be infiltrated into Syria. This has nothing to do with 'peace', but regime change from the very outset.

The pre-Baath, pre-UAR Syrian flag (1932-1958, 1961-1963, 2011-present) is adopted by the Free Syrian Army and other anti-Baath groups.



Not to mention that the survival of the Assad regime rests on forestalling the globalist Arab Spring domino effect as long as there is no Western / Turkish military intervention on the side of Al-Qaeda - Free Syrian Army - Syrian Muslim Brotherhood triumvirate.

It is none other than Al-Qaeda which has been behind the string of Damascus bombings in the past five or six months.

Fortunately, Assad has big buddies by his side, and he won't go down that easily anytime soon...

All-CIA-duh? No! Sad part is that I belive Assad and it isn't going to stop unless he steps down. I'm impressed he hasn't been bullied thus far.

Syria and Iran have been huge targets for the US since 6 or 7 years ago. This is just TPTB working towards their plan.

Both have even been identified in movies like Transformers, Iron Man etc to be 'problem' countries. The ones where the 'terrorist attacks' are to be expected from.
Not that their mention in movies just proves that they are targets, but that it plants a seed in people's subconcious. Just so that you already have an idea of who your enemies are.

Movies, even fantasy ones like Transformers, have to be factual to some margin. It has to be set in reality to a certain extent. If they said Australia they would have had to explain why they went from happy ausies to fearsome terrorists.

Even in Zeitgeist, which is quite old now, they mention that the plan is to move into Syria and Iran.

Years on and how much trouble hasnt america caused for both those countries? Now we have a lot of talk about military actions in both...

Self-fulfilled prophecies? Directors peering into the future?

I THINK NOT!

Well planned and surgically executed? Definately.






All of the above can be acomplished. A little planning here, an investment there, a few assassinations and some propaganda to get the locals going and WHAM, Revolution!

All of this can be done, all thats left to ask is who has the audacity to do it?

Well, Assad would say that. It is in his interest to pretend there is not extensive civil strife going on due to the way he and his cronies have been running his particular brand of dictatorship.

I know it is customary for people to think every little bit of dissention in the middle East (and beyond) is directly attributed to the CIA, Mossad, Zionists et al, but perhaps people need to give the Syrian's a bit of credit for kicking this off themselves. After all, Assad's dictatorship is both brutal and nasty and the vast majority of the population have been living under an extremely repressive regime. There comes a time when the smouldering fire flares to life, fanned by the wind of change.

Give the Syrian's credit.

Just recently they stopped a shipment of arms inbound containing weapons for the rebels. Russia needs to step up and put its money where its mouth is and arm Assad with the latest hardware and send those rebel terrorists back to their hole from whence they came out of.

Already in 2007 Seymour Hersh has written an article for the New Yorker in which he came to similar conclusions (emphasize mine).

This is very old news; those involved are MEK, Saudis, Qataris, USA, Britain, France, Israel, Libyan Rebels amongst the foreign legions now working in Syria to oust Assad. It's been a long time coming and Assad needs to go however no doubt the replacement will be the Muslim Brotherhood as we see in both Libya and Egypt.
