Obama worth as much as $10 million
USA Today -- May 15, 2012

Obama is 1% it looks like.

And it looked similar in 2008.

He makes money from book royalties.

And about half of his assets are U.S. Treasury securities.

The White house made the disclosure report available online, but you need to fill out an "application" to download any disclosure.

Someone will undoubtedly publish them soon.

Three things are apparent from President Obama's annual financial disclosure statement, released today:

He is a wealthy man, with assets of as much as $10 million.

He has a hefty stake in JPMorgan Chase, the megabank that just made a bad $2 billion bet. Obama has an account worth between $500,000 and $1 million.

Related article from 2009, about the 2008 disclosures:

Mr. Obama has become a millionaire from the power of his pen for two books that keep selling and selling.

He reported a 2008 income ranging from $100,001 to $1 million for royalties from his first book, “Dreams From My Father.” He reported royalties ranging from $1 million to $5 million for his second book, “The Audacity of Hope.”

2008 Disclosures

Some people may wonder if Obama's accounts with J.P. Morgan are a conflict of interest ?

$10m is all it takes to buy the US president?
But seriously I thought he would be worth more than that.

Well that's what's "on the books".

Who knows what's in the hidden boxes under the floorboards !

And not to mention what may be under "assumed names" !!

Uh yea, what did you think? Obama was a sitting senator, lawyer, and community organizer for years, and Michelle is also a lawyer, did you all think these people were dirt broke getting to the white house?

Oh the fantasies people come up with.

It's like I always stated, he wasn't broke going into the white house.

So have any of your guys taken the vow of poverty yet. Somehow I don't get the idea that someone fighting for financial regulations and increased taxes on the 1 percent, is the problem. On the other hand someone who is worth 20 to 30 times that wants to keep the inequity and raise taxes on the middle class.

Forgive me if I can't share your outrage.
