Downloading YouTube videos

This is what I use exclusively, and it is not limited to just Youtube. Works with many sites.

go to jdownloader.org... download this aplication install
go to your youtube video on your browser copy video link
jdownloader will automaticaly grab your copied link . after it just hit download !

I've tried them all, and only stuck with one~

It's for firefox, and it's called "Flashgot"..

Super easy to use, and downloads any video from anywhere on the internet.

No need for external website/copy n paste link, no need to install anything to PC..

Best video downloader available.

easiest and weirdest way I have found to do it, and in multiple formats, is to type 'kiss' before youtube.com/blah blah, so if the link is: www.youtube.com/video1 in the address bar you would replace www. with 'kiss' so it will look like this: kissyoutube.com/video1 then just click which format you want to download it in.

Just tried this, and any other variation I could think of, and I'm getting nothing like you talk about.

Had me thinking you had a better, easier way than flashgot, but at this moment, I can't say this is the case. lol

Regarding using Flashgot that i linked to above..
Once installed in firefox..
All you have to do is right click on the page the video is on, and click the "flashgot media" option.
So easy!
There is also a little "icon" in the firefox toolbar, that does the same thing. Just click it, and video downloads and saves.

I misread and was typing into a google search rather than the video page/address bar. mybad.

But the content on youtube is free media... that's the point of youtube, it is free to access as long as you have internet and decent bandwidth.

So what is the difference whether you download it to your PC??

Youtube as a company does the same thing but in reverse... it stores all the uploaded user video's of millions of people around the world... it's doesn't belong to them, it's free media for all to share... it belongs to everyone.

If someone doesn't want their media or video being shared then do not upload it to youtube....

That makes sense doesn't it?

Technically and legally the rights do not belong to Youtube to create such terms. Each individual clip belongs to each individual uploader of the content.

Youtube has no right in controlling how the media is used. They simply offer a sharing platform. There is no cost involved and no right of ownership.

They can make any statement they like on their website but the rights ownership of each clip do not belong to them (unless of course they publish the clip in question themselves).

Remember that this is your community! Each and every user of YouTube makes the site what it is, so don't be afraid to dig in and get involved!

Only upload videos that you made or that you are authorized to use. This means don't upload videos you didn't make, or use content in your videos that someone else owns the copyright to, such as music tracks, snippets of copyrighted programs, or videos made by other users, without necessary authorizations. Read our Copyright Tips for more information.

Youtube Community Guidelines

There is no right of ownership included in the terms when uploading the clips to Youtube and as such they are not the property of Youtube.

Youtube host's the servers and hardware but that is it.....

That clause grants user's the same rights over the uploaded media as Youtube has itself.

If YOU sign up to a service you are given a CHOICE accept the terms or DON'T sign!!!

Like I said if someone can download YOUR videos they can then edit and post elsewhere thats a reason to stop people from downloading!!!

You don't have to sign up to use Youtube...

I use it everyday and I have never signed up, the only time you need to sign up is if you want an account or want to access R rated video's to verify age.

The uploader choice... share it with the world on a free platform (Youtube) or don't and copyright your media..

Either way I can still pay for a movie or music and then have a copy of it on disc or on my computer...

This debate is going nowhere...

How do you think people are able to edit and re-upload edited and by the terms this is actually ok and legal.

How many times have you seen re-edited fake trailers and junk on youtube that does not get pulled down as it is not in violation on the terms.

How does that line make any sense at all if you are unable to download the media to your PC.


There is a reason the software out there that can download youtube videos has not been shutdown yet... after all these years.

Youtube has no legal right.

I'm kinda wondering what everyone is downloading here

There's so much porn out there all ready, no need to save it all, there's always something new to watch

Because it's free media!

The same reason that copyrighted material gets pulled from Youtube on a daily basis (that is not free media). The Standard Licence allows for the media uploaded to Youtube to be re-used or redistributed as long as there is no copyright infringement from the uploader.

That is the whole point of Youtube, sharing media... SHARING!

If you do not want your media or content to be open and free then do not upload it to youtube!
