Have any of you moms' out there heard from your kids' yet? So far this
afternoon, I have not heard a peep from my kids'.I had one member here
wish me happy mothers' day and that's it!
I can understand one not being able to call because they don't have long
distance service,the others,I don't know why?
If you are a neglected mama today...let it all out here.We can console each
other over our kids.
I had a long phone call with my daughter who lives in another city on Friday. She had sent me a gift the week or so before. Check.
A week ago, my son was here with his girlfriend. A few minutes ago he called to say "happy mother's day" and we "penciled" in Tuesday.
I spoke to my mom yesterday at length...she is with my brother's family today, and that's fine. We talk several times a month...sometimes daily,
sometimes a week or 10 days or so...but when we talk, it's always a blast. We made plans for Monday, lunch and Dark Shadows together.
In my family we remain flexible...a few days give or take...does it really matter? If you hear from your kids, that's great, but if you don't...it
doesn't have to feel like rejection. You raised two functioning human beings, you nurtured them, helped them grow and learn...their very existence
was dependent on you...and you SUCCEEDED!!
Now they are out being adults, using the skills that you spent their entire lives teaching them. They appreciate you more than they even know yet.
Now, here's a little gift for you, a "re-gift" from an email my daughter sent me about a month ago, in advance of the day by weeks, but it means
just as much to me now as it did the day I got it! What's even sweeter, is that the woman who made this recognition video is the mom of one of my
daughter's roommates, with whom I have spent many fabulous hours....how cool is that?
Bless you, mamabeth. Happy mother's day! From one mother to another...women rule the world!
Hope by now you have heard from them. Happy Mother's Day anyway. We took my Mom out to eat in a historical Inn/Restaurant, gave flowers and some
money. She is 87 or is it 88? In any case we realize our time together is limited and try to make things special for her when we can.
