Legendary bass player Donald 'Duck' Dunn, from Booker T & The MG's, has passed away in his sleep in Tokyo, aged 70.
A great musician lost.

thats sad, he wasnt a bad bass player. i remember studying some of his stuff years ago.

"I like to keep things spontaneous," said Dunn of their live shows. "That's my way of playing. Even though we were playing the same songs every night I like to think I can change it a little bit and use my input or creativity or whatever in any way that makes the band feel better. If I make the band smile, I make everybody smile."

and smile we did.

RIP duck, you will be missed

R.I.P. They were one of the most notable bands of the '60s.

Drugs and excess certainly dealt it's hand on the hippy generation. Many of them have passed away in their 50s-70s while their parents lived on to their 80s and 90s, some even making it to the century mark.
