The Lucic issue is a non-issue.

Pat Maroon was effective with Mcdavid because he ARRIVED in a timely manner ...it is what it is so get over it and lets move on to Lucic.......Lucic isn't an ARRIVAL type of impact....he is an establish ground type of impact.....even the average EveryMan fan can see this.

If you want Milan to score stop asking him to hit the backdoor wide-open and stop having him cycle off the wall and keep running to the wall....send him to the front and work harder to keep him there and then take advantage of his DOMINANCE.

McDavid simply has to delay his first pass....to extend his possession time by darting to open ice until Milan is established in front and has moved a few people around don't try to hit him on-the-fly going to the net....ASK him to make space where you need and Milan will do it dum-dums but pick a spot where you can score off of it because once he establishes himself in front the RESPONSIBILITY TO SCORE IS ON YOU.

So in short...Milan has done as the System asks him to do...clearly....if we wish to see him put up goals then do as Moma2 just said....adjust the system.

Lucic hasnt lost a step and the NHL has not left his style behind....lol...that is simply idiocy....any Playoff team wishing to take it over the top simply need bring in Milan......McDavid has been and shall remain in one piece because of Lucic....he still needs protection....it is what it is....the game has seemed to speed up not because of faster players what kind of an idiot would think that when the STYLE OF PLAY has caused things to speed up dynamiclly....footspeed is not an issue for Lucic.

Connor is only 5 points off of the NHL scoring lead....lets bring him over the top by providing him with 2 bread n butter plays he can use to benchmark his assault on this seasons scoring title which IMHO he can easily win.

#1 .... Connor enters the o-zone on the RW side driving hard then he floats a pass back and to the middle to a d-man coming in late who has a prime shooting opportunity...BUT instead of shooting the d-man pull to his left stretching the defense and giving the tender just enough time to turn and pull over ... then the d-man slips it back to Connor who has an open back-door.....as long as they come out and have the d-man BOOM one or two shots instead of passing to Connor to establish a pattern to mindset the goalie and to build contrast from....

#2..... Connor does a top speed fly-by into the o-zone and rushes it right round then blatantly tries a wraparound AS HARD AS HE CAN including mixing it up by flipping a few pucks up high along the post trying to trickle them in...not so much to score as to set up a sympathetic rebound for Lucic to feed off of....one timed to him properly and one he can use his assets to BULL into .... this is the sympathetic dynamic Milan needs to begin scoring again........just DO IT. www.bing.com... 3E96E74BA3&FORM=VDQVAP&ajf=60

Cam needs to STAY UP and work his stop and pop game using his style properly like he did for MOST of the Preds game...Talbot is winning most of his games if he plays that type of up and down Moog style.. his game.....if he keeps kneeling to remove the glove side he will simply bleed up higher like he has been...NHL snipers can do and will TARGET any specific area you request...they are SURGICAL.

Slepyshev needs to be cycled over to the LW 1/2 boards or side because this is where he is MOST EFFECTIVE and where he can set up scoring opportunities for SHOOTERS as well as Connor and Leon slightly less well than RNH......I know Lucic is LW but send him in and let Sleppy handle the LW boards because he is deadly from there if he has guys waiting for passes...Slpeyshev is a PLAYMAKER more than a shooter...he uses his playmaking to force tenders to react to his teammates then he uses his heavy heavy shot to flat out beat them like Ovie does....sooooo...keep him with McDavid but in the o-zone flip everyone around getting Milan to the netfront but NOT LIKE YOU HAVE BEEN DOING TO THE CREASE...set him up 7-8 feet out so he can explode IN to pick up pucks.....and don't ask him to go behind the net to battle....keep him out front.....give Connor the entire RW side and behind the net to play with.......but keep Connor in a SHOOTING MENTALITY so he dishes to Slepyshev at the right times...you know pick spots where Slepyshev will have a split-second to wheel and deal then GET READY TO SHOOT....Connor HAS TO STAY FOCUSED ON SCORING MULTIPLE GOALS because the assist will always follow the goals at the elite level.

Someone google search...shoot at the elbow-bone moma2....and show some ATS links to the Oilers d-men.....it pretty basic....www.google.ca... =psy-ab.3...
If the Oilers d-men simply learn how easy it is to score from the middle of the o-zone on the mid-outside areas they would 2x their scoring numbers immediately.....Connor can force defenses back ALL NIGHT LONG then make that short slightly backwards against the grain pass to the late coming d-man hitting the middle......this SHOULD be an instant goal every time Connor makes that pass...and IMHO he could do it 6-10 times per game.

So lets see Connor wrestle back his scoring title....come on McDavid....www.bing.com...

Lets straighten out the NHL officiating issue.

First of all it is only an ISSUE because a FEW collaborative online BLOGGERS all of whom are or were a part of the olde now defunct advanced stats cabal who screwed Moma2....considering the Oilers enabled Darkhorse Analytics to pirate the NHS and they enabled Eakins and others Coaches before him to also pirate and profit from Moma2s proprietary intellectual property....this could be considered poetic karmatic action...and if this is what it is and if it is equative to waste material disturbed this losing streak could go on for ten more years easily.

The seeming inequity we see definitive evidence of within the numbers patterns has a causality....it is not because bettman tells the Officials what to do like minions...not at all....there is a ROOT CAUSE.

It is the 2 Referee system which needs to be taken back and returned to the 1 Referee system......GAME CONTINUITY AND COMMUNICATION BETWEEN OFFICIALS AND TEAMS is not optimal right now.....it is not seamless....there is no FLOW......it is CONFUSING TO WATCH and even more DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND and to ENJOY the game when you are constantly faced with stoppages in play caused by complicated rule issues and interpretatins....it TAKES AWAY FROM THE CUTTING EDGE NHL EXPERIENCE Fans pay for every game.

In every sport there must be optimal commmunication between officials and teams involved....there also must be a NATURAL BUILT IN PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE for when errors are made......in the recent past before the widespread use of instant replay and the 2 Referee system of officiating there WAS a pressure relief valve and it also happened to serve as one of the games BIGGEST SPARKS and it was called the LOVE/HATE relationship between Everyfan and the Referee....NOT THE REFEREES.......

Relationships and understandings were built between Players and Coaches and this type of informal control bred RESPECT and it played a key role in the beauty of the game and in the sportsmanship of the game....no wimpers and whines no complaints winners respected losers and losers respected winners and no one spat on the Officials or used instant teplay to repeatedly prove the obvious THAT THEY ARE HUMAN BEINGS WHO MAKE MISTAKES......but you see it is the ABILITY OF THE PROCESS to ABSORB and to POLICE and to COMPENSATE FOR these errors or mistakes made that has been lost.

First off ADDING a 2nd Referee made it TWICE AS DIFFICULT TO OPEN AND MAINTAIN A CLEAR CONGRUENT LINE OF COMMUNICATION BETWEEN PLAYERS COACHES AND OFFICIALS....which in essence means a clear understanding for the Fans as well.....everything was made TWICE AS DIFFICULT.

2 referees have 2 very different personal perspectives of everything hockey....yes they all are trained the same ways but everyone is still different in many many ways....PERSONALITY IS A VERY REAL INGREDIENT IN THIS PROCESS.....knowing each other and familiarity is a very important part of this process and 4 way relationship.

A 2 Referee FORCES BY PROXY a CLASH OF STYLES...this CANNOT BE AVOIDED......so fix what is broken....relegate one Referee to the sidelines where he/she can make 2ndary supportive decisions to those made by the SINGLE REFEREE ON THE ICE.....not make EQUAL DECISIONS TO THE REFEREE.......supportive decisions which protect the integrity of the game and the Fans experiences...keeping things simple clear flowing and ENJOYABLE.

For cripes sakes stop the goal reviews....nobody even knows when to cheer anymore the game is soooo disjointed when you are in the Arena........yes we WILL GLADLY ACCEPT HUMAN ERROR AND ONE REFEREE IF IT MEANS REMOVING THE VIDEO REPLAY DELAYS AND DISJOINTEDNESS.

YES YES YES some of us will LOVE the Refs and some will HATE THEM....because there will be decisions left up to debate forever...ones we can watch and rewatch on replay for eternity if we choose to relive the moments...and the BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT WILL AGAIN FALL TO THE HANDS OF THE OFFICIALS AS IT MUST BE IN ANY PRO SPORT UNLESS YOU WANT COMPUTERS OFFICIATING GAMES IN WHICH CASE NO ONE WOULD BOTHER COMING TO WATCH BECAUSE THERE WOULD BE NO CONTRAST NOR CONTROVERSY BOTH KEY THINGS IN A HIGH-END OPTIMAL ENJOYABLE FAN EXPERIENCE.

Remove one of the Referees and cut back the availability of video review attatching a 2 minute penalty to it if there is no reversal.....bring back playaction stoppages caused by pinning pucks on the walls because those face-offs lead to a LOT OF GOALS.....an we-likes our NHL goals.

Get the A.I out of the game...it was slipped in the back-door like advanced stats were and it is causing as much trouble for the game itself as that fad caused....lets bring back the HUMANITY of the SPORT and the PASSION AND CONTRAST AND THE LOVE/HATE RELATIONSHIPS with the Refs....these are all flames of the fire which brings us to the NHL like moths...remove the light and you will continue to lose us to brighter futures elsewhere.

Well......this is a fairly accurate synopsis...albeit only one side of a coin....lol.....enjoy. www.youtube.com...

Note....the one thing they do not discuss during the video where much relevant evidence is in fact presented is the inability unwillingness or reluctance to change the SYSTEM.....yes bringing TMac and JW in brought in a new System....but for gods sakes it was one only optimally able to compete with an NHS focused club.... it was one which had shown evidence of being able to compete with the NHS from a defense first standpoint....NOT A SYSTEM SHOWN TO BE CAPABLE OF DOMINATING THE NHS......and here is the problem.....Moma2 spit in the Oilers eye and challenged them to go find a System they thought could KO the NHS....the Oilers went ANTI-NHS to spite their own best interests which would have directed them to endorse and action a cutting edge NewAge Hockey System like the NHS which all of todays winners are using.Instead of JOINING THE NHS EVOLUTION/REVOLUTION THEY BALKED AND TRIED TO BRING IN AN NHS KILLER WHICH DOES NOT EXIST......lol...the San Jose Model was DROWNING...lol...it was clinging to life by its fingernails and the very misleading dangerous stats showed it could be interpreted to be COMPETATIVE against winning clubs...if you wore rose colored glasses when you applied the numbers that is....ROFLMAO....remember statistics are only an OPINION of how the game played out they are evidence of very little beyond the final score.

To be frank the Oilers should be an NHL leader in terms of green-arrow evolution systemiclly in 2018/19....simply because they have made changes on defense and offense which have produced positive results in a big way.....it was just to late....now they will not discuss any changes they make they have to keep everything close to their vests to end the season as they experiment looking for things to adjust next season.....I already see some very good things....but I also see some big regressions the last 5-6 games....changing the wrong things.....some good things have been ADDED which is positive but some critical good habits and processes like the PP up-speed o-zone entrys which were PERFECT BUT MISMANAGED...have also been removed which is regressive from a macro-perspective.

Note how many goals were scored to the elbow-bone last night.....lol...and league-wide....everything glove-side is the result of an elbow-bone shot because even when you miss you score...lol.

Talbot was back on his knees panning for fools-gold again.....his stick side has been targeted for a long time now with no response....lol...naturally because he has changed his entire style to cheat to the glove-side.....lol.....Talbot is becoming the Invisble Man in terms of a Style to define him by.Jury is out right now....to many backward steps...to many changes...to many ups and downs....to many goals on the 1st shot which are spirit suckers.

Last night I saw a stoppage in play called when the puck waspinned to the boards...the game Colorman or Commentator called it a RARE event.....lol...it certainly has been rare....but it is a historic part of the game of hockey it is a core value part of the game and its tactics....and it has to come back ASAP...it is what it is.....good thing to because the Oilers faceoffs are now improving tremendously.

Well done Jujhar....not only tonight but the entire season so far...well done son.....you are humble proud and loyal to your team....you are wise enough to know you have lots to learn and mature enough to apply yourself at an NHL level every game ...this consistency of application you are exhibiting this season is what keeps men in the NHL...ALL OF THEM....consistency is the currency which earns players ice-time....ice-time = money/Pension.This reality applies to ALL NHLers.

When Cam stays up and uses his STYLE properly and sticks to his fundamentals HE WINS GAMES.....when he becomes a FrankenGoalie following overcoaching he LOSES GAMES because he modifys things to much and loses the trueness and purity of his style.I watched THREE pucks hitting Talbot pucks which were SURE GOALS IF HE IS DOWN EARLY......and one puck which hit him as he was on his way down slightly early but not as early as usual.....lol....those are FOUR SURE GOALS AGAINST....the Isles were targeting him up high all game long and they stuck to it.....Cam came in ready to stand and fight which took them by surprise because they were counting on him NOT LISTENING TO Moma2......lol......everyone now counts on the Oilers not listening in or on time....LMAO....but NOW THEY ARE APPLYING NHS ADVICE IN AN ESCALATING MANNER.....lets note that an overall adjusted SYSTEM accommodated Cams slightly more standup focus which contributed directly to the win....which means credit goes to the ADJUSTED SYSTEM for this was the catalyst and causality of the win.....I will NOT go over exactly how or how many adjustments the Oilers have recently made or analyse said changes.....nope....NHL players and Coaches will have to do their own analysis NHS or otherwise....mine which is the Platinuum NHS Standard shall remain insitu.....see the below comments to know partly why I remain analysis-free.....lol.

I predict the Los Angeles Kings and Tampa Bay Lightening in the 2017/18 Stanley Cup Final with the Kings returning to Championship form....Jon Cooper is about to become victim to the NHS ...AGAIN....because the Kings have for the second time since 2012 LISTENED TO ADVICE MOMA2 DIRECTLY PROVIDED TO THE OILERS WHO AS USUAL IGNORED SAID ADVICE.......ROFLMAO....the Kings are doing it again under everyones noses....

The Lightening now play a pretty well run NHS style of hockey...cutting edge...very tight and compact presentation with very few loose ends or frayed threads....this NHS style is the most progressive in the NHL....only one thing can stop this NHS focus the Lightening use now....and it is the Creator of the Philosophy and System they now use...Moma2 can remediate the NHS Modified Adjusted-Hybrid System Jon Cooper has perfected......Moma2 HAS ALREADY PROVIDED THE TEMPLATE TO DEFEAT THIS SYSTEM THE LIGHTENING USE.....watch the Kings use this NHS Template which the Oilers are now only beginning to try out to destroy the Pens and you will start to feel the Kings thunder.

Slepyshev needs to be reminded to hit...that good well chosen hits which are followed through on often provide situations that create goals for....especially in the o-zone where you can remove a cog from their wheel with a solid hit that removes an opponent from the playaction and pins the to the perimeter....his linemates also need to be prepared to touch the puck because Slepyshev likes to distribute early with short safe passes as he moves up-ice and then receive and dish again to a shooter in the o-zone......so his linemates need to be involved early and need to be ready to shoot ALL THE TIME IN THE O-ZONE...they need to think of themselves as finishers and go to the spots where they can pot goals from knowing Slepyshev will either find them or shoot hard and heavy.....so his linemates only need to be hitting holes hard and fast looking to snap shots off ASAP....ironically Slepyshev is best suited to play with Lucic....and Pulijarvi the BigBoy....Lucic-Strome-Slepyshev.....with Slepyshev shifting or cycling over and working off the LW 1/2 boards in the o-zone.

Sidenote....I finally have a solid take on Connor McDavid and have settled on a Nickname I will be using from now on.....it is synonymous with the presentation Connor can provide....it is YENKO...and it is what it is....Connor is that fast period.....God tinkered under Connors hood....it is what it is he is hpooed up and modified and was from birth......so I now call him Yenko.

This is what the Oilers opened up on McDavids Draft day.....

www.bing.com...

This is what he can do now.

www.bing.com...

Connor Yenko McDavid.So be it.

Why would you trade Klefbom.....the foot issue is not an issue...opponents simply challenge him more now because Moma2 exposed a few weaknesses last year around playoff time to sink KLowes boat......give me a break...Oscar is prime rib....you do not trade him...LMAO.....you simply tell him the good news...that Moma2 last season identified an area of his game he has not wanted to work on for most of his career....and this is NASTY....Oscar has been a skill-based d-man....he IS a skill-based d-man.....but it is time to EVOLVE ANOTHER STEP....NO ONE WITHIN THE OILERS ORGANISATION HAS THE SKILL ACUMEN OR INTUITION AND EMPATHY TO IDENTIFY PLAYERS NEEDS AND TO FORMULATE OPTIMAL TEMPLATES FOR IMPROVEMENT AND EVOLUTION....this has been and continues to be a long-term organisational weakness.

So the answer you dum-dums to the Oscar Klefbom mystery is simple.....tell him to learn from Larsson....and to watch some video of Laddy Smids career...Laddy had to ADD nasty and boy oh boy did he ever add it good once he figured things out.....it is my firm belief that if Oscar simply does what Moma2 has FORCED HIM TO DO...and begins to make life uncomfortable for opponents in nasty little ways EVERY TIME THEY INTERACT WIH HIM...by becoming a filthy-beestard......lol.....just watch Larrson and how everytime anyone gets near him he makes them pay for it...under all circumstances where there is possible or potential contact he is initiating and dominating it he is not blatant nor dirty he simply demands a toll for being near him....everybody pays something.....EVERY TIME......soooooo.....if Oscar makes it uncomfortable to crowd him and to hurry him up by learning to EXPLODE ON GUYS and by learning to HATE opponents who get into his personal zone which they have been using to derail his career and livelyhood and pay cheque....well if Oscar takes his living seriously he will listen to this analysis and act upon it in a timely manner...this is a CAREER DEFINGING CHANGE...the old Klefbom has to be buried frever and Oscar has to evolve himself upwardly again....there has not been much heat on him from day one....just lots of admiration of his ABS and jawline....enough is enough.....it is time for Oscar to evolve....you can COUNT ON THIS...even if he is traded his new club will expect him to improve in this area...his failure to do so to date has been due to Oilers dereliction and the entire NHL can see this as it is obvious.

Cam Talbot and Oscar Klefbom and Connor Mcdavid and Nurse and Russel and Sekera were targeted last season ...analyticlly dissected...accurately.....but this did not change their value....it just screwed the Oilers Coaches who had to AND COULD NOT adjust to the focused system based attacks on key players at key times....the Coaches could not see what was happening nor coming down the pipe and they could not stop it from happening....they were clueless and powerless...even after hiring all kinds of sports psycologists and other so-called HELP....lol.

There is nothng wrong with Klefbom....he still has upside to optimise...he simply has to evolve and add something to his game he has a distaste for.....I actually think he is a lot tougher than people think...hejust doesnt know it himself...because he has never taken it seriously...maybe Jujharis rubbing off on him...hopefully he is....also on the rest of the roster because for the first time in over a decade I see HOMEGROWN COPPER AND BLUE LOYALTY BLEEDING THROUGH.....yes one player can make it obvious when they do the right things....Kharia has been doing the right things and it is exposng a lot of other guys who are not all-in Oilers.....a LOT of guys who have NEVER THROWN THEIR TOWELS INTO THE AREA....a lot of guys have a LOT MORE REASON to be standing up for the Oilers colors and teammates than Kahria does....and they do not consistantly do this.....40% of the Oiler roster fails when it comes to Esprit de Corps.

They dont FEEL LIKE OILERS....they dont rally around their colors.....they are all focusing on many different causalities for being where they are....but collectively there is very little Esprit de Corp.......its a business first mentality....and this is reflected from the top of the organisation down.....had there been even a sliver of cojones or Esprit de Corps left in Edmonton then when Dallas Eakins desecrated the Oiler locker room with upper managements permission ...crapping on the teams entire iconic history someone who IS AN OILER TO THE BONE would have given him a free pop the day he destroyed the Oilers legacy........well right then you could see how far into the heart of the Oiers the dry-rot had gone....terminal degrees.

So you see the REAL JOB Bob Nicholson has to do is to REBUILD the Oilers Esprit de Corp.....a bigger task than maybe he can accomplish on his own...good thing Paul Coffey and some real true Oilers are around to help seed the beginnings of possibly a once again proud and loyal and championship level Esprit de Corps.

No one defended the Oil Drop when it most needed it....NO ONE STEPPED UP AND TOOK ONE FOR THE TEAM AND BACKHANDED EAKINS FOR STEPPING ON AND DISHONORING THE OIL DROP or kicked KLowe in the shriveled up cojones for allowing him to do it ....not a one of the many so-called Oilers involved with the organisation stepped up to represent .....this was very very classless of them ALL.

I see it in Nuge and Connor and Leon and Nurse and Kharia and a few others....they WANT TO BUILD IT.....they KNOW WHAT THEY NEED TO DO...but no one is helping them.....lol.

If you want to make the Playoffs in the NHL you first have to build a Team.....not simply posess the right pieces....you have to build something with those pieces...they will not come together on their own.....the very first step in this job is to DEFINE THE TEAMS IDENTITY AND THIS BEGINS WITH RESPECTING THE OIL DROP PROPERLY.

You play fight and bleed and win for the OIL DROP...not the pay cheque and not each other and not any of the millions of other reason we can find....you OWE IT TO AND do it for THE OIL DROP YOU WEAR ON YOUR CHEST...this is the BANNER you will carry if any of you ever make your way to the Stanley Cup podium....because without Esprit de Corp you will NEVER BECOME CHAMPIONS.

IMHO the players listed earlier need help and to be equipped to begin to build this club up from ground level....traditions...habits...personality...routines....Paul Coffey is a good beginning but more support will be needed.

The San Jose Model has failed....now we need to see something brand new...the Mcdavid Model...he is a solid catalyst....if everybody takes pride in doing what he does instead of having a group consensus that he is simply the best player on the Planet which relieves pressure on them....well then progress will be made....but right ow everyone is screwing around except Leon and Nuge who have no problems internally competing with Connor because their skill-sets allow them to beat him in areas he is weaker in above and beyond speed......this is the attitude the Oilers need to see...internal competition to show they are as good as or better than Connor McDavid....so if they simply wish to beat him they will do as he does and follow his lead....so STOP being observers and begin tryng to beat Mcdavid in practise and in games and on every level....make him your target make him your bar make him your gold standard or get the hades out of town.

What am I supposed to say about that game....its about time everyone smartened up.

Talbot plays his position properly and looks NATURAL doing it as he stays on his feet slightly more than normal...which is how he wins games....this has been obvious for several seasons now.....loading up Connors line with offensive skillsets has always been a no-brainer....risky...but a no-brainer nonetheless.....spreading out the talent with Leon running the 2nd line is also a no-brainer.......going quick slick skill on line 1 then hitting them with HEAVY HEAVY SKILL on line 2 then hitting them with speed on line 3 and then heavy and hard again on line 4 was a well managed game IMHO.Nice to see players put together based upon their natural strengths.

The 1st line was well balanced IMHO....moreso than the others but all looked compatible ...facing the Wild anyways.......I expect the coaches to actually WORK and when I see different line combos I want to know WHY and if it is to match up with opponents instead of motivating or punishing or rewarding a player that is great with me....I would rather see line combo changes made from a tactical perspective instead of an internal remedial or curative perspective.

I don't EXPECT the next opponent to be exactly like the Wild so I don't EXPECT to see the exact same lines next game but I sure as hades do expect the same result come last buzzer.

This is not really experimenting for TMac et al......they were told PRE-SEASON what they needed to do....this is very very much behind the curve here folks.

Not many clubs can handle Leon running a 2nd line...it takes top defenders to hold him back....any one of Nuge/Leon/Connor requires top defenders to stop them....when the Oilers 1st line runs hard and fast it wears down defenders quickly....then there is simply no strength or energy left to handle the 2nd line of heavies who are not going to run you down but they will lean on you and slowly break you down physiclly....then bringing speed on the 3rd line really sticks it to them and having a hard-nosed 4th line like we saw seems to cap things off nicely.

Final note....well done Cam....you knew when that slimy goal slipped in that you were down a tad to soon and you did not fold your hand instead you knew what happened and why it happened and you RE-SET MENTALLY corrected yourself and then simply and ferociously ripped the game away from the Wild....you fought hard last night....well done.

There is no cap hades on the way. Leon was not an overpay. Ferraro is ok but off-base on this one.

The Oilers are displaying signs of being able to TAKE GAMES OVER....they are developing killer instinct when they feel a weaker opponent they jump on them and bury them ASAP.... there is no need to panic with any big trades.

Its going to be impossible for most teams to stop the Oilers 2nd line if Leon is anchoring it....he will produce more from the 2nd line than he did on the 1st line....book it.....of course no Coach can pin McDavid and Draisaitl apart during a season because at least 30% of the games require those 2 demons to work together......they are a dynamite duo......but the club needs the other 70% of their games to be more balanced from an offensive perspective so they can stretch opponents further and further deeper into their rosters....testing them below the 1st line harder and harder....the Oilers can build a lot of different 1st line dous and trios however to project a balanced OPTIMAL offense which precludes winning they really must have the 2nd line run by a Center who can be a bull in a china shop leader naturally and by proxy help his linemates produce consistently when the going gets tough when the opposition gets grittier and bigger........to Ray Ferraro I say...THIS IS WHERE LEONS TRUE VALUE COMES INTO PLAY....HE IS A FIRST LINE CENTER AND HE WILL BE USED IN A 2ND LINE ROLE WHERE HE WILL CHALLENGE CONNOR FOR THE TEAM POINTS LEAD because as this club settles in next year and begins to win by habit they will have to have evened out the minutes between the 1st-2nd-3rd lines....relegating the 4th line to spare parts......literally taking the 4th line out of the playbook....zero inputs ...no 4th line......3 offensive lines with even minutes and a line of Special Teams players who are specialists.....a winning team in todays NHL needs these types of specialised weapons and must find ways to carry the payload.....soooo...you dump the 4th line idea and simplify everything....you carry your own choice of MERCENARIES on the 4th line...Face-off specialist or Fighters or speedsters or defensive wizards or whatever you wish.....but you run a 3-line process.

I remember a Mercenary Specialist named Petr Klima...one of my all-time Oilers heros...for everything about him including the drama....all of it....you cant have it on the ice in its purest form unless you have it everywhere else as well.I woud LOVE a young Raffi Torres right now to play with McDavid.

Expectations must be in line with the realities the Coaches face...everything else must be excluded as these things have tripped up TMac and his good work.

No one is ever going to consider the Hall Trade anything but a massacre of the Oilers and absolute theft.....no way Larrson will EVER compare to Taylor Hall and his NHL impacts .Full stop...stats will prove it over time.

I absolutely love Larrson and IMHO he is soooo much what the Oilers needed in so many ways that I truly believe it is only what I would call a BAD TRADE...not to get Chia off the hook cause statisticlly he will be roasted as long as Hall is ripping up the NHL which could be for a long long time still... but I endorse ALL OF THE INTANGIBLES SOMEONE SAW IN LARRSON...he is a KEEPER....he is one of the building blocks of a Championship mentality and team....IMHO those intangibles and how they filled specific voids in Edmonton truly change the context of the trade in ways not many discuss.....and remember I didnt even call it a really bad trade or a bust....just a bad trade which is pretty common in the NHL........this should speak volumes to my respect level for Larrson.

IMHO the Special Teams Coaches are the primary weak link and have been all year long...recent clear improvements since Coffeys arrival aside...they sank 2017/18...buried her deep.....if the axe falls it must fall there...if TMac decides to fall on it with his assistants then ownership has to make a decision to trust their own decision making and give them one more season or to 86 them all......either or the Special Teams clearly buried the season completely...they were tools TMac simply never got to keep his hands on for any reasonable length of time....truly screwed him....and they had s superb zone entry process which seamlessly brought pucks ito the o-zone on their PP one which many teams now emulate and have great success with....and they abandoned it....instead of properly managing it...the up-speed zone busting is something Coffey knows well....go back to it and let him help you work on the timing and placement then you will DOMINATE THE LEAGUE ON THE PP NEXT SEASON dum-dums.

So everyone relax and put the torches and pitch-forks away for another year.....really when you break it down it was the Special Teams which crippled old Betsy ....and this is the EASIEST FIX POSSIBLE...to be frank the Oilers are very very lucky that it is so obvious and clear where their season went off the skids and why it stayed off the skids......a complete and total breakdown of all Special Teams inputs. The only thing missing from the Oilers overall game was shooting %...and this is a Coachable issue...it is FIXABLE.....everything else is in place as the seasons stats will show you...the Oilers DEFIED STATISTICS by losing so much with such good numbers.....lol....this is because their shooting % screwed them everywhere even 5on5 which to the eye looks alright when it should have been 9-10% higher teamwide, the Oilers should have ROCKED IT ON 5ON5 HAD THEY POSTED DECENT SHOOTING %s.

Sooooo...Special Teams and Team Shooting % are 2 of 3 keystone issues to solve for the Oilers....Goaltending style compatability with Coaches System/defense being the 3rd leg of the crippled donkey.

All can be fixed without any major trades.

If there was ever a year for the Oilers to sit tight and let things ferment it is now...the entire roster feels like they let themselves down and will in large likely come back next season with a bone to pick....why not let it ride....and say Management takes one for the Team in 2017/18 due to Special Teams disconnects ...and we let water be gone under the Bridge right now.

I dont know about you bt I really want to see how much damage McDavid and Nuge and the little sniper Aberg can do to the Flames....methinks Connor McDavid is in for a 5 point night...and the longer he is with Nugey the higher the chances he has a blowout game with 7-8 points.....it only takes one team they zero in on early that allows them to rinse and repeat plays to see a huge night like that because Nuge can DELIVER CONSISTANCY....which means once they dial in they should score consistantly the same ways over and over and over......and THIS is why Nuge is a perfect fit for Mcdavid and why he should be Connors Centerman....Nuge will be putting pucks in Connors hands as much as anyone which is nearly every time....lol...but IMHO NUGEY CAN RINSE AND REPEAT SCORING DYNAMICS ON OPPONENTS IMMEDIATLY AND CONSTANTLY AND SO CAN CONNOR.....this is the same Chemistry Leon and Connor have already....its simply time to grow new muscles in new places.

The game was worth watching,it held my eye,the Oilers didn't stop pushing, the only good 1-0 game is one where someone pulls a rabbit out of their jock strap and the fLames goalie did that last night.....Talbot is looking better and better....one small fall-back where he was down to bloody early again and the little twerp Gaudreau simply goes upstairs....normally you forgive your Tender for a one-mistake game....so its forgiven because the forgiveness was earned by good intentions ....Cam has been working on his game and has good intentions and is going in the right direction so we are in his corner.

Twas a good game against a fairly desperate team....obviously Lucic was dearly missed as they hammered on McDavid at will....a really rough one for him....good idea to sit Milan and show everyone exactly what will happen to McDavid when no nuclear detterent is available....The Oilers are also missing a PREDATORY HITTER like Torres was. Were I Coaching I would expect Jhony Gaudreau to be very afraid to play my club.....I would run a practice just for the little twerp who IMHO does not deserve to even be in the NHL....its a joke....the Oilers have had so many small skill players the NHL would not protect then the League works to protect this guy....its kinda of a joke really and as a Coach I would expect this little player to be targetted and removed on a stretcher....like I said the Oilers need a PREDATORY HITTER who hits clean and very very hard.Geudreau the man doesnt bother me but the NHL Player is a joke because he is not so good as to deserve the league protection....heis no superstar.....but he is catered to by the NHL due to the fLames whine and cheese story about all the hacking on him well jeepers he is a shrimp in a land of giants and he plays a vanilla game.....opponents CANNOT hit him because he turns everything into a dive....he is no Marchand.....its a joke really.....if you cant hit him because he ducks and forces penalties and you cant stick check him because he is so small everything ends up illegal...then itsup to the NHL to begin calling penalties on him regularly for diving ...which includes dramatic hand shaking after a stick-check like he is famous for doing.

I have no personal dislike for Gaudreau and he is not talented enough to garner hatred...he is simply an NHL League pity story that helps the Flames stay competative....I saw flames gang-hump Connor mcDavid 4-5 times with everyone jumping on BUT I didnt see any Refs calling penalties for one of the 2 best men in the League.....nope....instead I saw an Oilers team AFRAID TO HIT GAUDREAU because of Officiating intimidation established last year on Gaudreaus behalf....this is what I have no stomach for....League support for players who havent earned it and Clubs who refuse to build a tough team to protect a superstar...lol..the fLames get top echelon protection for a player no better than Shremp or any of 100 players we have seen not make the nHL over the last few years...ALL TALENTED but none getting the fLames NHL Red Carpet treatment....I guess you have to have some hormone imbalance and look like a 12 year old to get this type of treatment or be on a team that has NO PLAYERS WORTHY OF CALLING NHL STARS that Bettman has to support.

Stop supporting the fLames refusal to ice a competitive club, Gaudreau is being treated like Prime Rib when he is a flank steak.....and the NHL is responsible and the fLames are lapping it up.......Bettman should get his nose out of things and the flames should be forced to accept no one is giving Gaudreau special treatment anymore....spare me the rhetoric there are 100 men NOT PLAYING in the NHL because they were not given or forced to be given preferential treatment by the Officials..players unemployed due to size who could step into Gaudreaus protected shoes and score the points he scores...suckhole points IMHO....nope Bettman should back off and the fLames should be forced to build a team that can compete with the Oilers fairly....the NHL should get their nose out of managing Clubs the way they have supported the fLames and Gaudreau.

By the way..... why weren't there Oilers gangbanging Gaudreau like the fLames were doing to the Oilers McDavid...LMAO...simply because the NHL interferes sooo much that they are forbidden to focus on Gaudreau because he is an untouchable....Conners 3rd year and he is considered toilet paper by Bettman whie Gaudreau is considered a gold chip....lol...shows you where the NHL is heading quickly now doesn't it...an artificially manufactured league run by the Officials....a Las Vegas dream to some and a nightmare to others....lol.

Had to get the Gaudreau bit out of my system....what a joke....no offense Jhonny but you just aren't that good man....I know your club used you to get support they needed highlighted you and forced the Leagues hand.....but kiddo sorry for your luck I would have my team run you over so badly you would not be played when our teams met....I would SACRIFICE A FEW GAMES to the hockey Gods to show your Club we will desecrate the little punk NHL support or not...and this would NEVER STOP....if I am going to lose NHL playoff points to an opponent then I am taking a pound of flesh every single time....and against the fLames that pound comes from Bettmans pet project...the Teflon midget .

I don't know why I bother....but the obvious is the obvious...someone tell Milan Lucic to look to his backhand for his next goal and to break out of this funk...he is pressing to hard in conventional ways and he is not being creative enough....soooooo.....someone go over to him and tell him Moma2 says to work the backhand and not stop tillhe pots one....its about mental acuity and positioning habits....JUST DO IT......lol.

First off you need to give Leon a puck carrier on his line and you also need to properly STACK support for him or opponents will simply stand him up on the walls where he will but up precious energy...Leon is a bigger threat up the gut where his size and skill shine...although he LIKES to work off of the walls and is GOOD there with his backhand ...he IS NOT a workhorse who can rag pucks up the walls being ground down by contact.....so let tonight go he was exposed because he was trying to hard maybe he eeds a puck carrier AND he needs to trust his linemates moreand use the give-and-go more KISS.

McDavid needs to think about using his speed to bust in creating as big a GAP as he can then just putting on the binders deep in the corner stopping dead and getting his back to the wall ASAP ...while everyone catches up ALL driving for shooting lanes and positons ...forcing the d-man to commit or stop skating and shadow him from a distance......so now he can ADD this to his arsenal.....this is the best way to catch the late supports.....personally IMHO he should be using his speed like Gretzky did to get behind the net so he can work from there.....even in todays NHL that spot can be used optimally to destroy opponents.Milan still needs to focus on using his backhand...he needs to just learn to listen to Moma2 until the monkey still clinging on to him is gone for sure.Connor HAS TO STOP TRYING NOT TO BE A PUCK HOG....Nugey is WELL VERSED in supporting a puck carrying elite level speedster in Hall.....sooooo....tonight Connor was forcing it he was forcing the distribution a bit to much when he should have been simply recieving pucks from whoever as early in his own zone as possible and running with them as he does best...... less headman passing along the walls/behind the net when your linemates are Nuge and Aberg is my advice because it looks like you are throwing them suicide passes all night long......lol....you RETAIN POSSESION yourself Connor me boyo and you do the distribution....less puck chasing......you 3 should be tic-tac-toe....bang-bang and in..... and this means you have to be a SHOOT FIRST line manager when you have skilled linemates...for example if you watch the tape again IMHO YOU were the cstalyst of the Sharks first goal because you REFUSED TO SHOOT on the play just before the turnover leading to their goal....YOU pushed it to far looking for a pass and it catalysed a FUBAR that likely no one but me will tag you with kiddo....sorry but I hold to to a higher standard on every level.

Nice job by Kharia....standing up for a teammate again...remember we don't want him to become a punching bag...he is a young promising winger who is tough as nails obviously....but that is Lucics job and Kassians job and if the Oilers don't get a filthy d-man who is willing to fight and make paybacks things will not improve and we will see to many men fighting when they shouldn't be against Professional tough guys.

What I am saying now is important.....the Oilers now need to know opponents will be looking for Kharia now because he IS SO TOUGH....and we DONT want that.....we want him to be a turn-to fighter not a go-to fighter......I know he can do both jobs....but we don't want that....we WANT teammates to NOW BE EYEBALLING OPPONENTS WHO SEND FIGHTERS IN AFTER JJ...now we STEP UP FOR HIM AND GIVE HIM A BREAK.....now we show LOYALTY for him like he has been showing for his teammates... I remember my HARD CAMPAIGNING FOR KHARIA WHEN HE WAS BEGINNING...Moma2 was one of very few who long ago stepped up to call for Kharia to be retained ....proud to say Moma2 was right again.

Speaking of right.....lol...the Oilers look like a Team that is difficult to beat now....suddenly....lol.....but we will not revisit the whys...enough is enough when it comes to critiquing the Coaches....everyone knows they used their mulligan in 2017/18.........so its time to let it go.

Talbot....nice to see you still working on a few things...keep it up and it will come slowly....no big daddy steps happen with NHL Goalies everything must be done in very small degrees..so no pressure....but you DO REALISE THEY MISSED 3 GOALS WHERE YOU WERE DOWN AND OUT TO EARLY RIGHT....YES I KNOW YOU DO and that's all I want is for you to know what to adjust....but the work you have done has given you as we can see the benefit of the doubt...fortune favors the bold...working on NHS directed change is bold but extremely intelligent.Well done keep it up.

I sooo want to do an NHS analytical breakdown of the exact changes the Oilers have made in every area because so many are CHANGES MOMA2 DEMANDED BE MADE....lol...I want to GLOAT about being right from PRE-SEASON TILL NOW.....but moreso than that I want HABITS to be built like they are being built now HABITS connected to WINNING...wininning habits......so Moma2 has ammunition to strafe the deck of the Goodship Oilers in 2018/19....so we will remain mum on the remediations we have witnessed the Oilers Coaches making for next season these changes will be noted and turned into tactical MOABS.We will save the analysis for 2018/19.

How many goals went Elbow-Bone last night....LMAO....between the arm and the body the commentator notices....lol....if I had said ARM and body instead of ELBOW and body we would NOT be seeing the extreme levels of destruction of NHL Tenders we now see....LMAO...Luongo made a terrific no-look save knowing he was being targeted Elbow-bone...so did Talbot....they KNOW it is coming......but they cannot compensate on their own...nope....their Coaches have to adjust their Systems before the Goalies can begin coming ot of the net like they MUST DO NOW....its been a slow evolution but it is inevitable....as Roberto as he has been IMHO the most victimised Goalie by the Elbow-Bone shot...and he has made LOTS of adjustments to his game because of it.

By the way dum-dum commentators....t is called an ELBOW-BONE shot when they target that area...so why don't you guys start calling it what it is you look silly and unprofessional already.......between the arm and the body does not do the ....ELBOW-BONE shot..... JUSTICE....because it is DEVESTATING ...... it is a NHS styled belief based shot not an evidence based shot....an intuitive shot not a stats based shot albeit after a few years now the numbers are being skewed because so many NHL Players are now exploiting the spot that soon it WILL BE a stats based shot ....and Goalies simply cannot stop them without coming out to cut the angles....this will never change.

IMHO the Oilers could have had 8 goals easily...in my mind they BLEW OUT the Panthers.

Ty Rattie....he made the rght decision to shoot the puck into the empty net and NOT DEFER to McDavid instead giving him the apple...considering his position and this being a big chance for him to produce....the kid made the right choice...kudos to you Rattie...Moma2 always says...BE SERIOUS ABOUT EMPTY NETTERS AND NEVER SCREW AROUND...SKATE THEM IN AND BURY THEM WITH AUTHORITY....bit of a long shot but done with authority...well done kiddo.

If Moma2 doesn't knock the wind out of the sails of the Goodship Oilers 2018/19 could be the year they go DEEP and maybe win it all.

Sadly we see nothing to indicate this mercy will be given.

Why no mercy you ask......see below link.

www.youtube.com...

Or the big pink Ostrich we call Oilers Ownership can keep their heads stuck in the sand ...and be witness to another early season massacre....and it shall be MORE SWIFT than the 2017/18 Playoff exit was because Moma2 always IMPROVES.

KLowe.....pay special attention from 41 seconds in till the end ok....the link was really for YOU and has been every time it has been posted....I have said it for a DECADE Kevin....we can do this for ETERNITY and the resutls will not change....Moma2 will only IMPROVE....even McDavid cannot change that.... Hart candidate in Hall could not change you and Connor can not change you....but....ROFLMAO....the NewAge Hockey System and Moma2 can sure as hades change you...from a winner into a loser.....now we are simply eroding more and more legacy each year...soon the tainting will be permanent...this is NOT GOOD.....actually it is pitifull and I am truly surprised Katz let this go so far without simply stepping in to help you out.....and helping you out means bringing Moma2 and the NHS to you and stopping the pain.....Bob Nicholson has also taken a MAJOR hit in terms of reputation and Legacy....forget the pundits most of the NHL knows what has been going on and Bobs peers know how he has been exposed for being derelict in his so-called AUDIT by intentinally dismissing the NHS....lol....how did that work out for you BOB....oh dont bother answering lets wait till the 2018/19 Playoffs have been flushed to answer this question ok.

No offense intended here...but Paul will become another victim of the NHS in 2018/19 if he stands in Moma2s way....and to be frank the Oilers should simply bring Moma2 in to help him because NHL Players spend a lifetime developimg skill that Moma2 picks apart with absolution in minutes.....it is what it is ...Its been a loooong time since Moma2 has been online in real-time doing play-by-play so it might be easy to forget the consistant outcomes of said analysis.......we miss it....cant wait till next year....for or against either way the analysis will be forthcoming in 2018/19.

Moma2 will leave you alone as we have been doing since the Playoffs have been gone... so you can finish at .500 or better...dont say I never give you nuthin ok.

The Oilers need a Raffi Torres type hitter who hits like Moma2 used to in other sports.....when Moma2 hit the powerband and released the heat it was no less impactful than McDavid in top gear wide open hades-bent for leather....men were in some cases injured and K.Oed.......just like when Raffit was in his prime and was hitting clean and mean...before he got a little bonkers.www.nhl.com... me Kassian isn't todays Torres...all he has to do is focus MORE on BIG HUGE CLEAN AND MEAN HITS without fighting after every single one he has to learn to skate away from a lot of big hits and set his fighting reputation to the side a bit and pick his spots fewer and further between because BIG HUGE HITS are a critical component of the winning formula...clean and mean.

Bottom line is this.....Lucic is a Nuclear detterent....everyone knows it....opponents don't wish to engage him....he is neutered when they do that and his overall value is diminished intentionally by opponents....sooooooo.....the Oilers DESPERATELY NEED a hitter a PREDATORY HITTER who EXPLODES INTO EVERY HIT WITH EVERY OUNCE OF PROFESSIONAL HOCKEY PLAYER THAT EXISTS IN HIS BODY.....we expect 110%efforts because this player or players get to focus solely on the HUGE SMASHING HIT.....this is a middle-weight type job because you need big speed to execute HUGE CRUSHING HITS....you need enough skill to play with good players....so you can be ON THE ICE TO SMASH OPPONENTS PRETTY THINGS EVERY NIGHT............and YOU are the fuse that ingnites Lucic....YOU are the spark that sets the fire that gets Milan involved and opponents willing to engage him....YOU and your mates need to TAKE ADVANTAGE OF MILANS SPECIAL SKILLSET because he is still a DOMINATING PLAYER in the NHL of that there is zero doubt......but he has been MISUSED by the Oilers....the simple fix is to ask Kassian to spend a night or two watching Torres hits so he can understand the role better.....it is difficult because you cannot be reckless and take penalties you have to be CLEAN AND MEAN....and really this is one of Kassians underutilised talents.

Nope...no one will take Lucics invites to fight.....not until someone gives them a reason to....do you get my point because next season this dynamic will have to be in play from game one forward......the Oilers from the top down need to simplify their perspectives of the game itself.....settle down and focus...it is EASY TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS IF YOU BRING A CONSISTANT EFFORT EVERY NIGHT......it is no more complicated than that.....in 2017/18 the club did NOT COME OUT WITH THE RIGHT MINDSET.... the season was OVER-MANAGED....and this screwed up the start and anyone knows the start is everything in a a race....ask McDavid how he feels about his lack of a running start in the All-Star game.....lol.....the season is exactly the same way...you EXPLODE OUT OF THE GATE....you do not hold anything back in reserve....the NHL season is a SPRINT NOT A MARATHON...it is a marathon for the players from a grind perspective but that is only one part of the overall equation .... but not for the COACHES....for the COACHES it is a short sprint........ remember that for next season...underline it.

The Oilers final 20 games have been a waste of injury risk simply put....remember that as a group next season...playing with less intensity than your opponent gets you hurt in all contact sports........when you are out of the race your guard comes down BY PROXY....zero doubt about it..this is why AS A GROUP they need to push for more and more McPoints so Connor can CRUSH Kucherov.....this doesnt mean feeding Connor more pucks nope it means OTHERS scoring to open up games so Connor can BUTCHER THEM.....everyone else needs to HAMSTRING OPPONENTS so Mcdavid can FINISH THEM OFF......this of course means TMac and Co. MUST simply use a wide-open offensive gameplan from here on in for 2 critical reasons...one to keep the intensity levels high enough that everyone stays in the moment and no one gets hurt because they are cloud watching or giving 75%....two is to build Esprit de Corps by giving EVERYMAN the same GOAL to end the season....PUSHNG THEIR CAPTAIN TO THE SCORING TITLE AT ALL COSTS...doing whatever it takes to make it so....running up scores every night....defense integrating 110% on every playaction for 60 minutes never shutting it down.....let opponents know you are gunning for goals and a lot of them and will be taking huge risks for a full 60 minutes and to beat the Oiers you will have to RUN-AND-GUN it out.......this is where Oilers team toughness will be tested to see who stays next year because a lot of clubs want to keep it tight now that playoff points are at a PREMIUM so pushing the river offensively miffs them off and makes them want to fight it out to stifle the run-and-gun......teams will try to throw the Oilers off of the offensive game by fighting them early and taking all rythem out of the game all flow out of it so they can grind it out......this is why ALL THE OILERS MUST NOW BE INTEGRATED EQUALLY INTO THE OFFENSE.

Teams are putting on their Playoff faces now and players are willing to throw down to change games....a LOT OF PLAYERS are now more willing to throw down or hit you dirty to change games....it is what it is....so you ust match this ntensity emotion and focus by having something really important to fight for....fighting for your Captain and leader who clearly fights for you every night is one hades of a reason to come together and support him with everything everyone has till the season is over and Connor owns a second scoring title....something has to be right about the roster if Connor can still win the points title but the seasons record can be so non-reflective of th teams macro-performance.

Redemption for everyone comes if Connor can repeat as a scoring Champion....for the reasons I just told you... this is EASILY WITHIN THE GROUPS REACH TO ACCOMPLISH.

IMHO you now OPEN IT UP TO END THE SEASON...every game run-and-gun......pond hockey atits best....seriously....and be ready to scrap it out AND KEEP RUNNING WITH IT....dont let teams willing to slow down the game with fights force you to change your gameplan...come in playing run-and-gun and fights aside do it for 60 minutes....and CHIRP A LOT...lets try miffing everyone off to end the season so next year we are considered CHIRPY and opponents want a bigger piece of us.

That was the first game I can honestly call EDMONTON OILERS HOCKEY in over a DECADE.......that is a club which doesn't make the playoffs but MARCHES to the playoffs......no one is going to be able to handle McDavid with RNH on his line followed up by Draisaitl....BECAUSE ....Nugey is exceptional defensively and Connor is no slouch.....this makes it very difficult on opponents because adding RNHs shutdown/backchecking skillset to Connors overwhelming offensive ability not only matches opponents it suffocates them....and as a result opponents MUST respect the 1st line with their defensive matchups leaving Neon Leon to wreak havoc from the 2nd line....as we saw tonight he is quite capable of dominating games from the 2nd line by ripping an opponents belly out from below ...if Connnor and Nuge cannot get a grip on the opponents throat and rip it out Leon can and will slice open their belly and disembowel them from deeper in the lineup.

I have like Auvitu all season long because of his offensive ability from the d-man position...I still like him and believe under Coffeys tutelage and within Coffeys new presentation this guy can produce a lot of points and opportunities because he has a good solid set of nerves with the puck and makes a lot of good passes he is a possession type player who doesn't like to waste pucks and just dump them away.

I really don't know what teams will be able to do against the Nuge/McDavid combo because putting them together means you can insert pretty much ANYONE with them and be confident in the line not being outplayed overall...they allow the 1st line to become a Swiss Army knife...add...Leon or Lucic or Kassian or Pulijarvi or ANYONE whatever your flavor and they will produce well.......IMHO the CMD/RNH duo will challenge for top honors linewise in 2018/19 and Leon Draisaitl might become a Hart candidate from the 2nd line...because I believe Leon with his size and style can become ultra-assertive at the NHL level like Kopitar and Malkin can do and produce more with less minutes than anyone on the team....including Connor and Ryan....it is what it is.......IMHO Leon is the proto-typical NewAge Power Forward and is the perfect 2nd wave to follow Connor McDavid and RNHs first wave of offense.

Lets also remember the Oilers could easily have scored by my count 3 more goals...stretch it and we can say 5 more....seriously.

Any NHL Fan would GLADLY throw their support behind that kind of offensive effort and that kind of excitement....any Fan in ANY CITY.

Do that to enough teams and they will begin to throw in the towel more and more and more...once everyone knows you are going 110% offense every night full bore once you get them down a goal or two they will HAVE THE EXCUSE MANY TEAMS NEED TO GIVE UP....do it more and you will begin to eventually demoralise tired and downwardly trending clubs BEFORE THE GAME EVEN BEGINS and some will give up before they even hit the ice....this is how the old Oilers ran their show....right in your freaking WHEELHOUSE FOR 60 MINUTES ....penalties and fights be darned those CHAMPIONS fed you Copper and Orange uppercuts until you went to bed by choice or not you were going to sleep....they removed the Refs from the equation by scoring so much it took pressure off of everyone....once you get up 2-3 goals it become much easier for the Officials to manage the game...and the players chasing the game always take more penalties than the ones running with it and this mantra will show itself to be true statisticly IF YOU DO THE RIGHT THINGS FOR LONG ENOUGH......essentially play this brand of exciting offensive NHL hockey instead of the now defunct heavy bully San Jose Model for a 1/2 a year to establish your identity and let the Officials know that the team chooses to be cutting edge like the rest of the League and pull in that exciting offensive entertaining goal scoring direction....and things will round into form in a positive way.

Trust me...if the Oilers play like this and give the Officials some consistency to work with then the NHL might see some huge offensive numbers going up soon and this is nothing but good good good for the NHL......because IMHO Connor McDavid with RNH and the right x-tra or cast of x-tras can score 200 points in the offensively evolving NHL we see today.

Puljarvi should be taught to shoot it from Kurris spot.....to get turned and ready ASAP as soon as he arrives....AND...his 2ndary option should be to bull rush the net if the pass is to late for him to one-time it o snap it off...or....you need to give him pucks higher in the slot with him having some isolation.....so he can shoot it like Laine does from those exact spots and times and its up the the Oilers lazy-arsed Coaches to get the video package and training regime they need to Puljarvi ASAP and then ADJUST their current processes system-wise to ACCOMODATE these dynamic situations which mimic those Laine receives....simple simon right.

Puljarvi is sooo good at cleaning up loose pucks because of his REALLY QUICK HANDS that if Moma2 were a Coach there would be several plays where Puljarvi is stacked right in behind McDavid in a flat-out end to end rush where Connor shoots looking to force a muffin rebound to the incoming Puljarvi.....I say this because of the speed of execution of this playaction and because of Puljarvis huge wingspan and stick reach which will absolutely mess with opponents trying to stop him as he comes in on Conners wake at full speed....Puljarvi is a BIG LOAD and no one is stopping him standup and this means penalties if they try to stickcheck him .But you must STACK THEM properly and use the formation properly as per Moma2s earlier directions.

Nice job of the Oilers defense consistsntly joining the offense in impactful ways seamlessly...EXCEPT ...for the 1st pairing who were FAR TO RESERVED........and its up to McDavid to make sure they stay involved by feeding them passes when they find seams on a regular basis....integrating the defensemen into the offense is not something you turn on and off like a lightswitch....either you do it consistantly long enough for it to pay off in goals or you do not do it at all...IMHO the Oilers must stick to their recent adjustments and be patient with a long term plan of integrating all 6 men on the ice in a NewAge way.

Someone tell Ahberg to listen to this advice from his Moma2....he needs to begin using dirty little moves inside and on the ice in close instead of always trying to roof-daddy everything.....mostly because he usually picks up pucks in close when he is on-the-fly and then he floats for a second before shooting....he isnt huge so he simply pauses then releases...but this is not good enough....he uses a short stivk and he is a compact player so his skillset down low is very very good and he needs to begin to find his QUICKNESS there when he challenges NHL Goalies not from the on-the-fly pause then shoot strategy....and I dont mean getting his nose smashed in either I simply mean take pucks in and dangle more times than not and the goals will come immediatly and consistantly....besides there is no time to go into the reasons for this advice further than to say change you shot choices timing and release points to produce better more accessable rebounds directed to areas your support will be in because you are surrounded by finishers in the NHL.

Strome...simply work on your one-timer....lol...no one has noticed it yet but I have....lol...watch some old Oilers tapes and become Horcoff....lol...no dont ever miss as many shots as he did....lol...be like Leon who is already following this advice....and make them count.....but do as Moma2 says and you will find yourself on the PP quickly.

TMac....not interested anymore BigDog.....can definitely be convinced to do the job but the question of true passion is an issue that has to be dealt with in a particular decision making moment.

Everything has become to easy and I am not feeling IT anymore...no CHALLENGES LEFT......I have finally come into myself TMac....don't need the validation now....twas a long haul and a lot of work but now the job is done.....Moma2 has finely honed the processes....all question marks have been banished.

Sad note...both Sutter and Quenville are unemployed....LMAO...recent Stanley Cup winners who happen to be the forerunners of todays NHL game period....lol...they were the 2nd and 3rd NHL Management pros after Pat Quinn to endorse and use the NHS in the NHL....if either one of them had simply come to Moma2 with hat in hand or cheque in hand they would have been the owners of DYNASTY reputations and legacies...but nope...everyone played it crooked as hades and look what has happened now....same thing that happened to the Oilers...they balked and let Moma2 keep posting until everyone else recieved the BOOK on the NHS and now it comes down to who can execute the best amongst these group of Coaches who are using the NHS.

We are at a pre-determined point now...one pre-determined seven years ago.....the majority of winning teams are now using the NHS.....anyone who wishes to step up and above of the PACK now seriously needs Moma2 and the pure true NHS acumen needed to battle other NHL Coaches with the same BOOK.....its down to a matter or interpretation and execution now....these are very very fine lines to be workng with....if you are looking for the advantage in todays NHS driven NHL...well you need to go to the source and today everyone knows it is NOT the con-job advanced stats cabal.....it is Moma2 and it is right here.Make your 25 posts and PM Moma2.....over and above that Moma2 will return next pre-season to dissect the Oilers based upon their last 20 game of this season....methinks we can subvert the Playoffs even FASTER in 2018/19 than we did in 2017/18......just a hunch there.

This is off-base but fun....long ago Moma2 suggested using Egg-sized rocks to defend against mass shootings inside clubs and schools.....about 4-5 years ago Moma2 did a nice balanced....lol...post describing the reality of this rock-defense scenario and giving some directions.....Moma2 was even more pushy and dominating than on this thread because it was such an important issue.

Connor....do not get harpooned.....you are slowly creeping into dangerous shallow waters with your guard down where you are most vulnerable to being HARPOONED and I fear you do not know it nor feel it.

TMac your Asst. Coaches yes including Paul need to bring in Moma2 before Connor gets Harpooned......it will happen as he is _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ as an _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _t.Someone is going to use a protractor and do the math.This is something Moma2 will be revealing next season regardless.

If I expound on this more I will be exposing critical systems data the Oilers need to keep under wraps...any in-depth analysis by the NHS will reveal everything they have done lately.Moma2 is saving that for next years Pre-Season beatdown.

It is only proper to kick everyone in the cojones for not putting Conner with Nugey sooner because that alone would have catalysed a sure playoff position as it very well will next season if Moma2 doesnt have to sink the Goodship Oilers again.

Moma2 understands the Oilers NEED to keep Nugeys salary demands down low and they have ALWAYS known what he has cooking and just how good he really is.....they have managed his career well to date keeping him away from Connor and inflated stats which will drive up his value when he resigns or renegotiates....but now things have changed because McDavid is the speed demon who can pass better than Hallsy...even though he has improved vastly to be fair and the gap is closing.....so bottom line is this....Nuge has an untapped offensive upside which is equal to McDavids......which is equal to Draisaitls.....these 3 men are the frontline of the team with no doubt.I do not mean as 3 centermen either...I mean as three amigos who should soon realise they have something big cooking if they all put out together which they are learning to do.

It is time for the Oilers to PARSE the defense and offense seperately in terms of accountability and peer-groups within the room....I want to see d-men going to d-men 2nd to make congratulations and to see them bonding as a micro-group within the room...not a SPLIT in the room but two groups who know who and what they are and who keep their identities clear and focused....and who are accountable to a smaller more intimate group of peers....this makes things easier for the Coaches by a large margin when it comes to making adjustments.

I want the defense to be its own slightly sour dirty truculent little group....one where a d-man will skate just a few hairs faster to defend a d-corps partner with a little more hate in his eyes for the opponent....because this means when one d-man engages to support a forward BOTH MEN BY PROXY ACT IN TANDEM.....meaning you ALWAYS FACE FOUR FISTS if you decide to mess with an Oiler d-man....and six fists if you cheapshot a forward.

The discussed issue is the root cause of why the Oilers have looked so spineless for so long.....they have been clearly disjointed in this area....no team toughness but instead toughness by assignment.....lol...this will change in 2018/19 guaranteed....the easiest thing to demand from and to teach a d-man or forward is to be TRUCULENT and NASTY....once you are established in the NHL it is fair for Coaches to begin to ask for this tool to be added to all NHLers toolboxes....this attitude comes in many forms and degrees from truculent to downright dirty and a Championship team needs all of them.

The Oilers will soon be tough FROM THE DEFENSE OUT.....not how people have been expecting due to roster signings which point to a heavy duty foward corps of toughs....this will be one of several major changes which will vault the Oilers to the top of the NHL next year....if Moma2 doesnt hamstring them early and often and terminally that is.

Next season we will see Lucic cruising in to help out truculent nasty tough D-men who have opponents headhunting them instead of the other way around.

You see the codicile of....if Moma2 doesnt hamstring them terminally ....exists.....so right now helping them is like fattening the hog for harvest.

Paul know what I mean about the little group within the group in the locker room where d-men are their own BREED and everyone understands and accepts it.If we dig deeply it is called micro-bonding ...which can be compared to LAMINATING...and anyone who knows as much about woods....lol...as Oilers from the last decade do knows that laminated wood is much stronger than just wood.

A LAMINATED LOCKER ROOM IS MUCH STRONGER THAN A TRADITIONAL ONE IS....lets not overcomplicate it...just do it.

Hopkins....Draisaitl...McDavid....Nurse....Larsson.....Bear.....oh yes the BearCub is going to work out well....seeing him on the ice gives me hope....he puts his shots on net and gets them off SUPER-QUICKLY ..quick stick...quick thinker...more inclined to attack than block shots...but time with Russel and Sekera will change that hopefully not to much because it is a crutch for both of them...one Bear will not need for 5-6 more years....this is what makes Bear stand out right now...he is skating and moving to do his job and is not relying on veteran smarts and shortcutting things by reducing his movement and using the shot-block mentality....the Oilers NEED BEAR TO BE BEAR and not change his decision making to fit the mold in Edmonton....it is Bears minset and movement that translate into his offensive skillset...a well balanced one that the Oilers need to translate to the NHL in its pure form.......so lets not begin to see to many shot blocks by Bear...it willl be viewed as a sign of regression if it becomes chronic and Moma2 will blame TMac and friends....and Oilers forwards should now know shots are coming in ON TARGET and there will be a lot more juicy prime rebounds to be found in front for guys like Lucic and Puljarvi to cash in on....d-men taking to long to set up or not disguising their release points or simply missing the net has been a HUGE issue for the Oilers and Bear seems to really help see this because when he consistantly puts pucks on net at the right times and provides such nice juicy rebounds in front playactions do not end they continue with digging in front...which is something the Oilers WANT in many cases....those pucks being on net and dropping down for the BigDogs is a CRITICAL part of properly utilising players like Milan and a few others who earn their money in the dirty tough areas cashing in on rebounds and loose pucks....the beauty of Bear is that he is not exactly letting go a HOWITZER but he is more of a mid-power SNIPER who is very very good at finding the net with his shots and who is in his comfort zone fearlessly releasing at proper moments surprising opponents and goalies and CONSISTANTLY getting pucks on net without blowing up teammates ankles like Souray could do....lol.

Moma2 wishes the Oilers to be strong and surging upwardly when the battle is engaged next Pre-season...no cherrypicking for the NHS we want a worthy opponent.

For those interested....it is Ryan Nugent-Hopkins contract length which will determine how and when the Oilers load up for a serious Cup run....and the time is now......when they lose him after his contract is up and he has put up STELLAR NUMBERS ALONGSIDE CONNER they will no longer be as dominating as they are now.....Nuge is worth 8million+ on todays market with his offensive upside which we will ONLY NOW SEE OPTIMISED.

RNH is a Gretzky clone and to my eye the only one in the NHL today.....McDavid is defining himself now and he is original because of his exotic speed...Draisaitl is like Mario in how he can slow down the game and out of seemingly nowhere do severe damage offensively.....

RNH will ELEVATE both McDavid and Draisaitl who to my eye are equals in terms of overall NHL relevance to an Oiler Championship......Moma2 makes no bones about player evaluations.

RNH is the keystone......and he has 3 years left......@6 million...RNH GIFTED THE OILERS A HUGE BREAK......he took one for the team....and as Moma2 said to begin this past year....RNH needs to elevate McDavid for the Oilers to become a better club and for them to be a Playoff team....there is NO BETTER NHL PLAYER to elevate McDavid because Hallsy primed RNH to use a high-speed bullet train..it is spooky because I did not ever think I would see Halls speed again in an Oiler uniform....then along came Connor...with Nugey a tailormade side-kick just waiting in the wings to set up shop with an even faster linemate who is a better passer which optimises Nuges offensive goal scoring tremendously.....putting the duo over the top making them IMHO the NHLs deadliest pair.

TMac wasted a season by refusing to listen to Moma2 and unite RNH and McDavid....now there is no turning back...under pressure TMac relented and put them together and the Cat is out of the Bag so to speak...lol...they have lit it up and by seasons end if left together they will have produced the MOST POINTS OF ANY DUO IN THE LEAGUE OVER THAT TIME PERIOD.....they will be the NUMBER ONE DUO IN THE NHL to end the season....which is a PRELUDE to what they will do to the entire NHL in 2018/19/...which is rip it a new hole.Unless of course Moma2 rips THEM a new one first.

Saying that ANYONE can play with McDavid and produce is so bush league.

Rattie is producing because of his hard work and because his skillset is complimenting his linemates....not anyone can produce with McDavid.......

Gretzky kept DEMANDING HOT HANDS....he did NOT tolerate linemates who couldn't do what he needed done including basics like receiving and making passes.....and going to the spots he dictated to score when he put it on the blade of your stick.....Connor and Ryan are clearly spooky together......Connor and Leon are ELITE together......Connor needs hot hands in the swingman position .....the duo of RNH/McDavid is as natural as Gretzky/Kurri was......they need hot hands fed to them from the Swingman position....no waiting...if you aren't hot you move on if you are streaking or peaking and tuned in you end up with Connor and Nugey.

Same with Leon/Lucic....you keep feeding them hot hands....you do not let their Swingman stagnate and wait for him to score his way out of slumps...and you try to give them the same suitable defensemen to work with consistently ...if you slump for 2-3 games as a Swingman you move on....everyone knowing very well that hot hands get back into the rotation fastest....meaning they are all ultra-motivated to pick up their games and find their zones. You don't rotate the two duos on the 1st and 2nd lines you leave them alone and you leave them with the same defensemen so they build a comfort zone .....there is NO FOCUS ON duos on the 3rd and 4th lines....those are managed traditionally....letting the yard-dogs fight for ice time the olde fashioned way....really the 3rd line is the one where you fight for minutes because ultimately the 4th line will be placeholders for PP and PK specialists.Rolling 3 lines is how you win in todays NHL.Reserving 4th line roster spots and benchspace for PP and PK specialist who can keep themselves warmed up and ready is keystone....meaning riding the bike between Special Teams assignments and being ready to come in slightly cold.

So the 3rd line is where you go when you are heating up and the performance you show from there will bring you up as a hot-handed Swingman....and if you are on the 2nd line and get hot you may find yourself on the 1st line Swingman spot quickly...hot-hands are hot on any line and everyone knows it...this is what it is....knowing when individuals are peaking and are tuned in is part of Coaching and managing these payers is critical....and Connor and Nuge will be the baseline because they are the concrete base of the 1st line....so their Swingmans inputs will be shown on the ice immediaty...both are capable of a consistant presentation every night for 60 full minutes and both have freaky endurance levels......hothands will be able to finish regularly with these two line anchors....I expect Leon to find his way there a lot of games even though his most impactfull position is anchoring the 2nd line on his own he is so skilled heis equal to Nugey and Connor so must play with them when the Oilers need to LOAD UP FOR BEAR.

Auvitu is needed....Bear is needed......Coffey will tune them in....but they need to play THEIR OWN GAMES...like Paul did.....to be the most effective offensively...and this is desperately needed from the defense...and as we have seen lately when the defense is integrated the Oilers become giant killers.
