I agree. What a non-issue.
Who the hell gets married these days anyway?
And how many are actually waiting to get married? I bet its a spec of the population. A spec of the gay community.
A spec of the population? Perhaps.
A spec of the gay community? Sorry but it is much much larger than that. In the gay community this is a big deal. Gay people have relationships just
like straight people. It is a big deal to the gay community the same way as it would be a big deal to you or I if tomorrow the Federal Government made
marriage illegal.
As far as weather it is a non issue or not... I am in agreement with many that it is a non issue. However, for me anyway, it is a non issue because
the Government should never have any say so about who can or can not be in a committed relationship. At the end of the day, that is all marriage is.
It is a promise in the eyes of your God to be faithful and committed to another person. Can anyone explain to me what the Government has to do with
that? Or why they should be involved in that choice?
The truth is, marriage is a bit silly. Not so much because of the commitment being made, but because of how lightly we as a society make this
decision. Really think about it.... straight couples get married and have marriages annulled within a matter of days. Yet I see no one up in arms when
this happens screaming about the "sanctity of marriage". In Australia and India there are people who have actually married their dogs.

Here is a story out of Thailand where a man marries his girlfriend..... who just so happened to already be dead.

In Sudan a man was order to marry a goat after he was found having sex with the animal.
Man marries goat captivates millions- BBC
In Japan a man even married a female character from a video game.

CNN
Of course, leave it to news from Japan to even take things up an extra notch, as we have this story also from Japan of a man who married a pillow....
yes, a pillow.
Man marries Pillow
Now I admit, it does look like a nice comfortable pillow.... but still.
Now after reading all that, can anyone explain to me what is so wrong about gay people getting married? And please.... don't give me that nonsense
about the "sanctity of marriage" as I have posted numerous examples of how "sanctity" simply does not apply to Marriage.
The real truth is the ONLY reason why the Government has any say in this issue to begin with is because of taxes. Legally Married people in the US get
certain tax breaks that single people do not get. So if you are gay... your relationship status does not matter. In the eyes of the Government you are
always "single"
