At my old job, I got calls from people telling me they could pay when they got their unemployment checks. They liked to tell me how many months they'd been on unemployment. They'd say that they wouldn't take a job that's beneath them, and that their unemployment paid better than those other jobs. Those people are going to have realize they're not special and get a real job.

I got laid off from that job due to outsourcing. My coworkers were anxious to start collecting unemployment. I just went out and got another job......and I'm a lazy socialist

Believe it or not facism is actually good. It became dirty cause of the holocaust and because germans and italians wanted a piece of the british pie. The brits and americans had pure capitalism as their agenda as well as global domination and the creation of the state of israel.

Since the allies won they wrote history their way. I don't hate jews but you have to admit they have a mighty strong lobby in america called aipac and we have been MANIPULATED to fight THEIR WARS for 50 years now.
It was never about cheap oil because if it was then wtf is gasoline selling for $4.50 a gallon?

And why is wall street predominantly controlled by jews? The gold market? The diamonds??? You go to a doctor its a jew. You go to see a lawyer, another jew. Stating THE OBVIOUS does not make me an anti-semite although I will admit it is the mystic jews that are creating problems and not the oridinary jews! Did I mention rothchild boulevard in tel aviv? Also the richest family............HHHHHHMMMMMMM

One of the side benefits of being persecuted is that the people learn to stick together. And by sticking together they help each other and that is why you see them financially well off.

And depending on where you are standing, and on what floor, that dictates your view. But consider that from different floors, the view looks rosy. America has the largest GDP in the world and by a very long margin.
There is no other country remotely close. No other country has a tiny fraction of the wealth America has.
If you had to manage the largest economy in the world, would you not hire jews???
Good lord man, you need shrewd people in this world running your finances.
I don't approve because I am not that capitalistic but I can appreciate the benefits of guarding your fortune with 7 Jewish lawyers or something. Some opt for Mormons mind you.

Well get off your lazy butts and build us some robots. I will start a thread and explain to everyone how to make the Vic 20 of Robots for the home market. I will make you a believer.

Funny you should say that. I can find plenty of U.S. made products at Walmart.

I bought a Craftsman air compressor from Sears though and I will give you one guess as to where it was made. Here is a hint China.

By the way, who do you think works at the Walmarts you are not supporting? Americans maybe? Maybe you forgot about that.

If you work reasonably well or many times just show up for work that is good enough. It is a society of mediocrity, but that sure as hell beats a society of "jobs shipped overseas" and people having to rob convience stores which then end up in jail at the tax payers expense.

Yah freaking right, ask the people
at foxconn who are throwing themselves
off the stinking roof that one bud.

And who is Foxconn a front for? Thats right, your corporatist gods that you worship.

China is doing its best to raise the standard of living for its people. They are also protecting their Industy. And what do many Americans do? Cheer on your corporatists. And anyone that protests the corporatists gets called lazy and you claim they hate America. I would hate America if I had to live there. The people that protest love America and are trying to save it. It is you and your friends that hate America. You love corporatism. Why do you hate America?

One of the best replies on this thread, if I were a mod I would give you some applause.

Most people don't realize they are one step away from a medical or job loss issue.

They think they made it "all on their own and anyone else that doesn't has only themselves to blame."

I volunteer at a homeless shelter and five years ago we had mostly drug addicts, alcoholics, bums, mentally challenged (Thank you Ronnie Reagan for closing out all the mental institutions and giving our tax dollars to the military and banking complex) instead of social services.

Most don't see the train coming, they won't until it's right on top of them.

When America is known as a third world country because our government handed all our jobs to people who live half way around the globe......................because our government is run by and for the large corporations and banks.

Very insightful reply.

You are smarter than most of the others replying on this, they don't see it coming, they don't care until the brown stuff hits their fan and it will.

Greed knows no satisfaction.

The three quotes below are from Henry Kissinger:

Who controls the food supply controls the people.

Who controls energy can control whole continents:

Who controls money controls the world.

Exactly, and say we are living in a healthy economy which is 5% unemployment rate, do those 5% who are unemployed deserve to keep getting checks past the deadlines? I feel like everyone puts this crisis on the economy and job market, but even in a healthy economy I bet those same people would make the same case they are making today... "there are no jobs"....

That's not what the facts say.

Furthermore, because of the fascists foreign trade policies our government is engaged it, in conjunction with the criminal Financial Institutions, most stuff these days is foreign made anyhow.

Also, those workers you seem to "care" about would be a lot better off if Commie Walmart disappeared, because a demand would be created for small business ventures to fill in the gap, that historically paid better, which would also elevate wages, rather than the wage drop we have been seeing the past few decades.

www.freerepublic.com...

Those low-cost goods at Wal-Mart ultimately come at a high price: lost jobs, lower wages and unsupportable U.S. trade deficits.

Wal-Mart is the single largest importer of foreign-produced goods in the United States, and the majority of its private-label clothing is manufactured in at least 48 countries around the world—and almost none in the United States.

Wal-Mart’s biggest trading partner is China. The world’s largest retailer bought some $12 billion in merchandise in 2002, from China, nearly 10 percent of all Chinese goods sold in this country that year. Through November 2004, the United States was running a $147 billion trade deficit with China.

Lost Jobs Through Importing Foreign-Made Goods

Such a huge trade deficit undercuts domestic manufacturing and destroys good U.S. jobs because the nation is importing, on a large scale, products that had been produced domestically.

The company says its inventory of products made in China was expected to hit $18 billion last year, the second consecutive year the inventory grew by more than 20 percent. More than 70 per cent of the products sold at Wal-Mart are made in China, according to the China Business Weekly.
More than 80 percent of the 6,000 factories in Wal-Mart's worldwide database of suppliers are in China. If Wal-Mart were a separate nation, it would rank as China’s fifth-largest export market, ahead of Germany and Britain.

U.S. Jobs Shipped Overseas

Between 1989 and 2003, the ever-increasing U.S. trade deficit with China has led to about 1.5 million jobs that either moved overseas or never were created in this country as production shifted to China, according to a report released Jan. 11, 2005, by the U.S.–China Economic and Security Review Commission (USCC), a congressionally appointed panel. The pace of job losses has picked up since China joined the World Trade Organization in 2001, with about one-third of the total, or 500,000, occurring in the past three years.

Lower Wages for U.S. Workers

By supporting foreign-made goods on such a massive scale, the company that trumpets its All-American image is creating incentives for corporations to destroy good jobs in the United States.

As the world’s largest company with sales of $256 billion last year, Wal-Mart exerts a strong downward pressure on wages, and not only for its own workers. Its sheer size and buying power gives it the ability to influence wage rates of its competitors and suppliers, including manufacturing and construction companies.
Wal-Mart pressures its suppliers through a policy that says the price Wal-Mart will pay and will charge shoppers must drop each year for basic products that don't change. To survive in the face of the retail giant’s pricing demands, suppliers have had to lay off employees and close U.S. plants in favor of outsourcing products from overseas.

By purchasing such a large amount of goods produced in China, Wal-Mart indirectly supports continued workers’ rights abuses by Chinese authorities.

A report in The Washington Post shows how Wal-Mart pits suppliers against one another and squeezes them for the lowest price. As a result, the report says factories respond with longer hours or lower pay. And the workers have no options because China forbids independent trade unions.

Really? Because my facts are things I have found with my own eyes.

You know why I know they are facts? Because I seen them with my own eyes in Walmart stores. Actually I bought a backpack from Walmart over a month ago. The backpack was made in the U.S.

Again the Craftsman air compressor from Sears was made in China.

I confirm my facts. What about you?

Actually I have worked minimum wage. I call it living to your means. People aren’t willing to make the sacrifices to survive. They still want this, that, and everything else. They still want their cake, AND eat it too! Why do you find it so hard to work minimum wage. Sounds like you have an ego you’re not willing to give up! Once the stock market eventually goes bust and everyone loses everything they have, I’m going to love sitting on the side lines watching people like you freak out because the kids can’t get their preferred breakfast of fruit loops in the morning. There is a difference in WANTING something, and there is a difference in NEEDING something! I have 2 children I love very much! It doesn’t matter to me how big my house is, the car I drive, shoes I ware, people I know, etc... As long as I can work hard for something, give my kids a warm safe happy place to live, food in their mouths, than I am happy!

I think you are full of crap, sorry mate. You can get medical insurance for your family on minimum wage.. with 2 kids?

Oh wait.. you are NOT INSURED? No.. you couldn't be if on minimum wage, it's impossible. So every time your kids need a cheap medication, it's from 20 to 100 or even 200 bucks. Docs visits.. a few hundred. There goes a month pay. You are not living in reality. This country runs on health insurance.. sadly enough. And almost all minimum wage jobs offer a laughable policy, if anything. Something like.. 1600 a year, and 10k max benefits. Or worse.

You can't live on minimum wage as an adult with children without living in the slums. Is that what you are recommending? Just "suck it up" and go live in a horrible neighborhood, eating ramen and forgoing health insurance? Yea.. parent of the year award for you.

It's a tough place where I live in PA when I finished with the service it took me over a year to find work. When I found a job that I am still at, I'm over educated for the job, and the corporation most certainly takes advantage of my co workers and I. Employers know they have the advantage and are not afraid to eff you over around every corner! Also I pay alot of money each year like millions of others for unemployment gov my ass we pay for it!

Well, I have not been in a Commie Walmart for 10 years and do not plan on it ever because of their policies to small business's, to their workers, and most especially because the majority of their products are not made in the USA. I also don't agree with subsiding workers with my tax dollars, when Walmart should be paying for it.

The information is out there if you look.

Here is one article from PBS:

www.pbs.org...

Wal-Mart employs more people than any other company in the United States outside of the Federal government, yet the majority of its employees with children live below the poverty line. "Buy American" banners are prominently placed throughout its stores; however, the majority of its goods are made outside the U.S. and often in sweatshops. Critics believe that Wal-Mart opens stores to saturate the marketplace and clear out the competition, then closes the stores and leaves them sitting empty. Freedom of speech issues also come into play. Musicians are at the mercy of Wal-Mart's stringent content rules, forcing many to create "sanitized" versions of their albums specifically for the discount chain.

Forbes magazine, polling business executives (not employees) has ranked Wal-Mart among the best 100 corporations to work for. Yet the employees on average take home pay of under $250 a week. The salary for full-time employees (called "associates") is $6 to $7.50 an hour for 28-40 hours a week, which is typical in the discount retail industry. This pay scale places employees with families below the poverty line, with the majority of employees' children qualifying for free lunch at school. When closely examined, this amounts to a form of corporate welfare, as the taxpayer subsidizes the low salaries. One-third are part-time employees - limited to less than 28 hours of work per week - and are not eligible for benefits.

I want Commie Walmart to pay the appropriate wages rather than them looking for a handout, and to also get out of my government with their lobbyists as well.

JOb JOBS Jobs !! where are they ! The Manufacturing Jobs the Industrial Jobs

but there Retail Jobs ... of Company's that sell mostly 80% of Products Like Walmart, The Home Dept
that are Foreign Made ( Mostly China) but Own but Crooked American Company's that Use People
ike its MC Donald's as They Prefer Hiring Retires & Collages Students!!! at they are Not Family Orientated
by the Slightest next time you go into Home Depot see for your self you will see Associates in there mid 60s or Early 20s The Ones that have Been only There within the Last 4 years Well in The Home Dept Store that at My Location I See it ....

And People are Wondering where the Fricken Jobs Are ... There are Oversea's were people are making 10 Dollars A day instead of 10 Dollars an Hour and those Crooked Company are Pocketing the Money

a Perfect example is !! when i Compared TVS while Back on a Thread !

VIZEO American Company ( Made in China ) Vs Samsung ( South Korean Made & Owned ) America Puppet State that is Doing Fantastic

where the Same Value Featured Designed TVs are about Close to the Same Price

Different is!! The Assemblers / Makers = Factory Workers ! are Getting 10 dollars a Day in China ( Vizeo)
and Samsung ( South Korea) 10 Dollars an Hour but what Company is Pocketing that Money The American Or Korean

Now Why in the Hell Would American Owned Companies would Have COMMUNIST COUNTRIES Made Products For Them ! This Would Never FLY!!!! In the 50s ,60, Nor 70s Yet because of the Reagan Era in the 80s ( Free Trade ) as it was Great Then !! Things were Cheap and Lower ! But Not Now !! We are Paying For Now !! ..... and Our People are

Why didn't we Have a Place Like INDIA One of the Poorest and Mass Populated Country in World
have American Product made by Them ! a NON COMMIE Country !! is what I like to Know ?

I do not recall saying they were great to work for. I did work for one some 14 years ago though, they were a stepping stone job they paid my bills until I could find better. They still employ a great deal of Americans though.

Again they are not great to work for however, they are not as bad as many other places either. Aside from the money part of it they treat their employees better than a few other places I have worked at.

You can scream commie Walmart all you like, they still sell American made products and employ Americans, it looks foolish to say they are commie in my opinion. Not all products are American made but to claim they sell only stuff made in China is completely false. Sears, Target, Kmart, The Dollar store, and even mom and pop stores sell stuff made in China. I would say just as many of their products are made in China as Walmarts. Again not saying Walmart is a saint, but they do pay Americans a living wage. I worked there I know people that still work there, I know they pay a living wage. Articles mean nothing to me when I have seen first hand with my own eyes, especially articles that are bias from the start.

I know some mom and pop places that pay far less and demand more hours than Walmart. I know jobs that pay better but treat you far worse and keep you from your family far more than Walmart could hope to do. These same places you never see in the headlines because they are not competition for other big business. Walmart has enemies and the children of Sam Walton did ruined Walmart with their choices. They are far from the wost out there. I would point a finger to some I see as worse but the iPeople get pretty agressive, so I will pass on naming those I see in a much worse light.

What is the Percentage of Product Made in Communist China in these Stores ? I would say 70% at Least

and Thats why The Say Commie Walmart
its made by the Hands of People in a Communist Government Country

Ironicaly when The Founder of WAlmart! SAM WALTON his Dream of All American Products in His Store Branches ! Walmart Sams Clubs Etc... as he was Anti Foreign Made

He launched a determined effort to market American-made products. Included in the effort was a willingness to find American manufacturers who could supply merchandise for the entire Wal-Mart chain at a price low enough to meet the foreign competition.

Where I live there are tons of jobs, almost every target, Kmart, Walmart, McDonald's, burger king, Wendy's, sears, jcpenny, Macy's, Starbucks, pep boys, auto zone is hiring right now. They aren't great jobs but you can make 500-700 a paycheck.

I know people that have taken unemployment, it's Ridiculosly easy to get approved and to keep it. You can quit, abandon your job, get fired etc. it just take longer for benefits to kick in. The system is all online and they do zero follow up to even check if your looking, like you're supposed to. There is very little oversight. It's become a game to some people to see how they can take advantage of it.

I am assuming you are talking about a biweekly paycheck. I have never heard of anyone at Kmart or starbucks making 5-700 a week other than a manager maybe. Definitely not associates.
