What is the current level of Radiation in Your Area?

I'm asking users on this site because I have a growing distrust of websites with "official" readings. I want to hear from users with Geiger counters and find out what the levels of radiation are like in your area!

I seen that and figured it may have been related to wrong data as the site reminds of. Or the GOM is radioactive

5-28 is said to be normal background radiation.. 198 seems ... elevated ... I'm not sure they'd be burning at that point, but it can't be healthy either..

A question:
Is it true that since the Fukushima meltdown that the levels of radiation considered safe have been raised?
If this is true, what are the previous levels vs. the current levels?

I see the data on Fukashima has been removed and placed in Louisiana, hmmmmm.....conspiracy?

it's always great to see those caveats underneath the chart...it gives you every reason to believe that these readings are NOT accurate.

from air test's i get around 30-40 CPM on any given day, rain swipes give me anywhere from 100-200 CPM and the air one the rainy days usually stays around 50-70 CPM.

i am in eastern PA.

Did you know that when you travel on an airplane at altitudes of 34,000 to 37,000 feet, you are being exposed to varying radiation levels of about 260 to 280 counts per minute (CPM)? Cosmic radiation depends on your altitude and solar activity.

true indeed and ever higher these days, but it's not cesium 134 and cesium 137 you're getting from a normal flight. read up on those two isotopes from Fuk.
