Absolutely, the women in the east have a long way to go and its not going to be easy. It would be very naive to expect them to just ask for equal rights and for men to just hand them over - but obviously, some people on this board are convinced thats all it takes. Like going to McDonalds and ordering an adult meal instead of a kids.

Im assuming at the women's expense yes? By locking her into a marriage and refusing divorce? Lets use the word barbaric a little bit more to sum that statement up.

I agree completely that acid throwing is barbaric and shouldnt be done by anyone under any circumstance, i also believe someone, of any gender, having to ask permission for a divorce is also barbaric. People should not be treated as property, If men truly care about protecting there family unit then here's a tip: Dont marry a woman who's willing to leave her current husband for you. If she cant be faithful to him then what chance do YOU stand? Would you really want her to be the mother of your children?


Two separate issues and none of it trumps or in anyway excuses the violent assault on someone.

Im just saying, men should look past the pretty face and size up the actual qualities of the woman he wants to be the mother of his children, for example, question number one: Is she faithful??? Big give-away if she's willing to leave her current husband for you!

Violence shouldn't ever come into the equation, regardless of gender.

Treat these people as individuals- refusing someone a divorce is not comparable with acid flinging- a woman might not agree to divorce a man might refuse it as well, human emotions and love may not contemplate the break up (as well as sacrifice for your children) none of it is an excuse for violence

Dont condone violence or acid attacks, no body has the right to refuse divorce. There is more then one wrong in this story. If she had the legal right to get a divorce without having to ask him then im betting the chances are he'd still have his face intact.
