As people gathered to celebrate the harvest festival of Sukkot in Sderot, two missles were fired into the crowds killing two children and wounding more than 10 others. Swift Israeli retalliation occured within the hour as helicopters opened fire upon the Jabilya Refugee camp. This attack comes amid a major military operation to stop or prevent such attacks as these.

Three Palestinian teenagers were killed during the day as Israeli troops continued their operation in the northern Gaza Strip, which they began on Tuesday night.

First reports from Sderot spoke of a baby and another child being killed when makeshift Qassam rockets hit a residential block in the town.

Israeli government spokesman Gideon Meir said the Sderot attack had been timed to disrupt the Sukkot holiday.

The hate and anger between these two civilisations goes back thousands of years, but over the last 10 years it has become a crisis of horrific porpotions. More than 3000 children and adults have been killed due to the fighting and i doubt it will end anytime soon.

The Israeli military is doing everything it can to prevent or stop such attacks as these upon its people, but it is a little more difficult because of the political interference and the civilian side of things.

Again since yesterday morning, more children have died due to this situation, on the 2nd link provided, a body graph of the amount of children under the age of 18 is included in the fatality list. We need to find a solution to this bloodfeud soon, or full out war is expected.

After one of its most bloodiest and darkest days, the Gaza Strip is counting its dead which may total up into the hundreds mark. Over the last few days bombing and other assorted attacks have increased between the Palastinian and Israeli borders and there is no sign of a stop. As many as 200 people so far in the last 4 day, mainly children and young adults, have been killed in both sides.

Israeli tanks swept through Jabaliya refugee camp, sparking off fierce clashes which left 31 people dead and more than 130 wounded across Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has called for a major offensive in Gaza.

He was responding to a request from Defence Minister Shaul Mofaz for a major, open-ended military operation to stop Palestinian rocket attacks on Israeli border towns, the latest of which killed two small children in Sderot.

Again more and more violence between these two people kill more innocent people. Ariel Sharon has taken this very seriously and i can realise and understand why he has requested for a major offensive to finnally stop the rocket attacks that are killing his people. But will this lead to a full out war or a bloodbath?

They need to get there strongest and most respected people out there and talk it out, or they wont have anyone to protect.

The Israeli security cabinet and ministers have agreed to Ariel Sharons plans to start a major military offensive to stop the recent attacks on its people. In the last week over 200 people, mainly children and young people, have been killed by Palastinian militants attacking festivals or just random terror strikes. This dicision comes only hours after Ariel Sharon made the request.

The open-ended ground operation aims to stop Palestinian rocket attacks on Israeli border towns, officials say.

Palestinian hospital sources said 28 Palestinians were killed in clashes as Israeli tanks swept through the densely populated Jabaliya refugee camp for the first time in more than two years.

The Palestinian Authority called for an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council to debate "barbaric massacres" by Israeli troops in Gaza.

And so it begins...one of the bloodiest revenge wars or a possible chance at peace if they get spooked enough?

This was a good post. The killing of children should never happen EVER. You know what worries me most? Its become all too common to see these stories and I think people everwhere have become immunized to this. Both the general public and here on ATS as evidenced by the total lack of responce to your post It is indeed a sad day.
