That is American politics folks two wolves fighting over a lamb pitting one side agianst the other to get in to power maintain it and will do anything and everything to stay there.

Benjamin Franklin once said that a democracy is two wolves fighting over a lamb for dinner. Well people we have been fought over for over 200 years.

The endless cycle of rinse and repeat of course there are a few folks going around claiming the "false left/right" paradigm and how nothing ever changes.

Well i am here to tell you they have changed quite a bit never before in this nations history has the government had so much power and the people so little.

We all see this
We all know this
We all put on our partisan blinders and i am guilty as much as the next partisan.

Know yourself and you know your enemy that's not so much to say that I view those with different views as my enemy.

I think people miss the bigger picture we link .we source regurgitated rhetoric from the main stream media and alternative news sites.

In all the exchanges that i have ever had on here not a single thing has ever changed.

Debate is an exercise in futility
Voting is an exercise in futility
Because all we do is rinse and repeat and start the cycle all over yet again.

Thinking somehow, someway things will ever get better and yet they never do.

I have argued for the longest time that Government is the greatest threat to the people of this country but I was wrong I was very wrong.

The biggest threat to this nation has always been us. Our Governrment is a manifestation of everything wrong that is within us.

Face it.

We are the problem and for anything to truly change we must change from within.

The greatest journey to get where we all want to get to begins with that simple, inescapable step.

And we will never do that most fail to look at the mirror and ask themselves is there another way to get there.

Obviously there is but we are doomed to ever get there as long as we fail to grasp that.

Our problems will never be solved and they will be compounded until
this nations soul ceases to exist.

And we are almost there so close to the point where slogans are meaningless.

I think it's time we heed what Benjamin Franklin once said

Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.

We have been disarmed in more ways than one from the assault on the second amendment to a nation that has been dumbed down to sheer and utter stupidity.

Where the masses are easily controlled manipulated and nudged to only go in two directions.

Left or Right once upon a time someone said neither It is either going to be up or down.

Do we continue with the status quo or do we finally rise to the challenge and live up to the legacy that made this country what it use to be.

The last best hope for freedom and liberty it's time to arm up Americans and that doesn't mean with weapons per say it meant what has been said since recorded history.

The pen is mightier than the sword and knowledge is the great creator of equality.

End rant.

Feel free to agree or disagree as always people are free to think as they will.

Last thought here and take it for what it's worth

I pledge allegiance to the constitution of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, one people, one voice under our creator by what name you call and from where all our rights come from, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Why are you reciting a pseudo-patriotic theme poem that was written by a socialist? Doesn't that bother you? I thought you said they were destroying the USA.

Bellamy was a Christian Socialist[2] who "championed 'the rights of working people and the equal distribution of economic resources, which he believed was inherent in the teachings of Jesus.'"[5] but he was forced to leave his Boston church the previous year because of the socialist bent of his sermons.

Wow Neo, thanks for the honesty and forthrightness man, and I agree with much of what you say. Sounds like you had an epiphany of some sort.
I hope also that once people recognize the futility, they will modify their behavior and perspectives too, so that they no longer contribute to the problem, but work towards a solution instead. I am trying this now, and it is not easy. It is a process similar to a journey. We can still point out injustices, or support ideas, but the one sidedness is too destructive and only serves to feed the beast. To blame is very human, but to accept some of the responsibility is noble imo.

Peace,
spec

Wow, Neo, what happened to get you into such a centrist mood? I'm not complaining, just surprised... I agree, the polarization just leaves us at a never ending impasse. I'm glad you are calling for a revolution of words, not violence - what message do you propose sending?
