This Politico article sheds questions on Obama's sincerity ...

Would he have affirmed his support if Joe Biden had not "talked" ?

Joe Biden just might go down in history as the guy who forced Barack Obama to publicly announce his private support for gay marriage.

But the vice president is no hero in the West Wing, and administration officials are struggling to cast Obama’s truly historic — and risky — announcement as something more than an election-year shotgun wedding.

Senior administration officials admit that Biden’s comment was, indeed, the catalyst for Obama to make his historic announcement weeks earlier than planned.
Did Biden Really Know ahead of time and simply "Let the Cat out of the Bag" ?
OR, did the White House make a hasty "decision" to come out with the statement ?

As usual, we will never know for sure

Biden blamed; politics drove timing

I'd love to see the look on Mitt Romney's face when he has no choice to shoot himself and the foot and either do what President Obama did or do the opposite and flat out condemn it.

Seriously, he could take the 'no comment' stance, and show a continued lack of spine.

In either case, it will make things more lively.

To score more votes, for his reelection.

So you're calling the gay community idiots for being single issue voters?

I guess gay folks don't buy gas, have jobs or use the "dollar".

Charles Krauthammer made an interesting point.
(I'll try to find a source)

*paraphrasing*
Obama once again has shown himself to be less of a leader and has demonized a portion of the country who doesn't believe in same-sex marriage.
He's shown himself to be a divider, not a uniter.

Rich v poor.
Black v white
Pro gay marrage v anti gay marriage

States have the right to be as obtuse as they want. No ammount of federal law can stop it, unless it fits into a larger agenda.

State immigration law was brought up but I didn't see where sactuary cities fit in with that.

Bullcrap Beeper!

Same Sex is a poison pill for him, it took nuts to do something that will inflame
the swing states he is depending on in Nov.

It takes character to stand up and go against the grain.

I think any gay Republican is an idiot, yes... But to be fair I think most Republicans are idiots.

And I doubt Gay people are stupid enough to believe that Obama is in charge of Gas prices
either.

I would have agreed if he hadn't have said it AFTER his veep did.

Again, just further division.

It's a single issue. And a "meh" one at that.

He didn't have to say it at all, did he?

HE could of dodged it without breaking a sweat, I was hoping that he would of
let it be.

Hey, America's been creating jobs every month, it's a good time to be proud of
America and embrace the come back. Being all downer just to spite one man
is not very patriotic IMO.

It is what ever you want it to be Beeper. You will find a way to twist it, I know
how it is.

Too bad Obama has lead this country out of the worst Financial disaster in the history
of history. The history books are gone be liking him on many fronts.

Why is someone going to vote for a party that is full of people who want to
keep them second class?

A Gay person Voting GOP is like Ron Paul voting for Stalin.
