Actually, putting Romney in there would be far more dangerous because Romney's inability to pick a side and stick with it would be his undoing.

He'd be the most indecisive president either.

And when you call out Romney supporters on ATS, you get warned. Hey, they are idiots for wanting to vote for an idiot! Period.

Ron Paul supporters have know idea what they would be getting into.

First
he would be a lame duck POTUS right from the start, no support would be given to Ron Paul from Congress

Second
his policies wouldnt be understood by the general population(this is different than the voting population)
panic would instill so fast there would be Anarchy in the streets...

Ron Paul at this point is a dangerous notion that will never fly, if it does, god help us

there need for control of the world

Romney loses and then what?

4 more years of Obama?

How is that a good thing?

Can we get an actual American RP supporter to chime in here? I don't trust Brits who don't have a good understanding of our current political climate. That's why I never comment on Parliamental affairs.

It's a nice dream, but unfortunately, won't happen.

Romney will (hopefully) lose to Obama in 2012. H Clinton will take the WH in 2016, hopefully on a bipartisan ticket with Colin Powell or Condi Rice as running mate.

If Romney loses the bid, it will be interesting to see who the GOP will put forward as their next attempt at a Presidential run. They really have no strong candidate to put forward this time or next time, whereas Dems have Obama in place for 2012 and Clinton already lined up for 2016.

Clinton is already a seasoned politician as well as having brand name recognition inside the United States, two things very much in demand for a [X] in the box next to her name come election time.

No more Clintons please. We've had enough.

Don't even mention her name.

As for Obama? I wonder how much more he will sell out those who picked him the first time around. The ones who are still on his side can't be too excited either.

thats not true at all. Mitt Romney represents a part of Status Quo

Ron Paul is off the wall,,,, he wont fly
People blame Ross Perot for the loss of GHW Bush in 1992
its nothing new to play the blame game

ETA technically we agree but for different reasons

As an Obama supporter, I say that Romney might yet win.

It wouldn't be easy, but if Romney (and his side) does not make any major mistakes, and, on the other hand, Obama (and his Administration) says something really stupid and/or suffers some disaster, Romney might just pull out a victory.

And lots of luck then to Romney, he would inherit a govt in which the Republicans have spent the last four years trying to make things worse for Obama. Most of the guys wouldn't even know how to do anything constructive.

If Romney is the Republican Nominee and he somehow wins against Obama, we get a revolution anyway. Here's why....It's going to be REALLY weird and suspicious if Romney wins with a split GOP and no-one can locate ANYONE, anywhere who supports Romney. Not at rallies, not at the grocery store, not walking down the street. I can imagine this would finally piss a lot of people off, the Obama supporters might finally see the light.

I'd rather have a lame duck president and 4 years in which NO bills are passed into law destroying our liberty than 4 more years of the unconstitutional laws that have been passed recently.

Wouldn't' you?

Many anti-Paul people love bring up the primarys. Ok lets take a good hard look at the primarys.
First go to the state of your choice.
Now check the % of registered republican voter in that state that voted in the primary. The states average is about 30% !
Now take Romneys 50% of votes from the states primarys, that comes from 30% of registered republican voters and that breaks down to 15% .

Now combine Santorums % and Gingrichs% and Pauls% that comes to 60 to 70% of registered republican voters that reject Romney.

Now those numbers do not include the registered republican voters that didn't vote.
And those numbers do not include indepentents or democrats.
Besides Romney has isolated women, gays, the old, the poor and latinos.
Romney doesn't have a chance in hell at least Paul has a chance.

You're not making any sense here.

How would this be possible?

Ron Paul holds strong Libertarian beliefs.

Do you even know what communism is or are you just using it as a buzz word?

The Status Quo doesnt know what Libertarian is.
Paul is on a Republican Ticket....there is my qualification

Oh please educate me about what Communism is.........
........ yeah Ok
I dont need that education but my Son who is 26 seems to think it would be a very good Idea, isnt this the demographic that appeals to RP...and has a very detached Idea what communism really is, These young generations are Ignorant to Communism of Russia,East Europe, Central and S. America and Cuba and South East Asia.
Idealism is great in conversation, but dangerous in application, this is an understanding that comes with gray hair

Actually I know a fair bit about your political climate - I lived in your country for 20 years, and have followed the political process closely for the last 10

It's amazing how far you have strayed from your constitution - you are becoming more like Europe with every passing year. Much to your shame.

Many people claim they know governments, what they fail to to see is the advancments and changes that occur in any form of government over long periods of time.
Americas founding father are rolling in their graves from what america has become.
America is using protectionism and socialism the early stages of communism.
Protectionism is businesses and corporations having the legal right to loot the general population with the governments ok. And the people accept it because the government enforces the law.
Socialism is easy accepted from the government because it's ok by the government and provided by the government.
Both republicans and democrats created and support the system and create the bills and approve the bills and raise and lower taxes to run the whole system.
And the people vote them into office.
How any government advances is if the people accept it, weather through government enforcement through power,
or the apathy of the people.
