About this last quake in Cali, it was five miles under ground is it safe to say that this is worse than a quake that happens two miles down I mean wouldn't it be better if it was a closer to the surface quake.
Would anything happen if they would get a quake five miles down followed a few days later three miles down so on. I mean could 10.5 happen (movie I saw over the summer) or is this a bunch of crap?

The movie you saw about the 10.5 quake was as far removed from scientific fact and belief as could be possible. The film was really just a showplace for new effects technology to wow the audience with. Don't worry about the Parkfield quakes, they are just a part of the stress relief from the meeting of the tectonic plates.

Mis,

Living in calif, I can tell u-the farther down it is, the less effect and damage it causes on the surface.it's the ones that are near the surface that cause all the damage. It also depends on what kinda quake. side to side-less bad or up and down-very destructive.
