methane is a more potent greenhouse gas than CO2, so it is a viable thoery. but simple climate change doesn't really explain the KT boundary because you would till have vegetation, even if temps suddenly cooled due to ocean current shifts

I think the sun was blotted out by debris in the upper atmosphere from the collision event, and the food supply was eliminated very quickly, leaving the small mammals to inherit the earth .

Jeah, thanks for posting, I also find the article interesting, cause it shows how dumb and useless scientists can be if they are trying to somehow justify a blatantly wrong popular viewpoint.


They're not trying to justify it. Stop being so down on Scientists. It is a fact that the Earth has had periods of 'Greenhouse' as well as 'Icehouse' and this is an interesting take as one of the the potential causal mechanisms.

I find it infinitely more worthwhile than scientists devising different ways to kill people, or politicians sending idiots to war.
