So I get some who say Romney is a liberal and others who say he is a warmonger

Dude, what I quoted you above for makes Romney sound even more like a warmonger plain and simple...You said it, I didn't...

Reread the explanation that was given to you and then reread it again until the definitions sink in.. You have refused to listen to someone explaining the definitions of both parties and continue to spew nonsense as your understanding of conservatism. Smart legislation has nothing to do with being a conservative or liberal. The only conservative candidate in the presidential race is Paul. All the rest are progressives wearing conservative and liberal uniforms. And for the record Ron Paul would change the world. No longer would we be in a debt crisis. No longer would we be manipulated by the few at the top of the financial system. No longer would the troops overseas have to continue to fight an unjust war that's doing nobody any good. No longer would the child or their parents in the middle east have to fear American planes and bombs or the random gunfire that litters the streets. No longer would we be so highly regulated and taxed. No longer would we go to war without a declaration by congress. No longer would the united nations decide what's best for the united states. I could go on and on..

And what do you call this whole paragraph? You are trying to change my mind by insisting RP will change the world even though nobody in congress listens to him now. That's being anti-establishment, not conservative. He has one maybe two conservative points. All the rest of his policies are liberal! Plain and simple.

Please allow me to introduce you to congress:

Congress is made up of a bunch of corrupt dinosaurs who get huge bribes to follow along the corporate agendas that influence our government. It starts when running for office. The candidate with the lobby influence always gets the most public exposure. They get air time, billboards, just about anything needed provided by the lobbyist firms to help guarantee the candidate they've hand picked will win.(now you know why RP gets zero media attention, no lobby) So once in office it's payback time and the lobbyist collects on the support provided previously and offers more special treatment and deals in exchange for legislation. So as you can see the dinosaurs who have held positions in congress for 20 years are the most corrupted and loyal to the lobby that control all of us.

It's human nature to be corruptible. When you have children you will do whatever it takes to offer them a better life even the corruption of yourself. Therefore I can't pass hate and blame on the individuals and would like to focus more on fixing the system so this type of corruption cannot infiltrate the decisions and actions of our leaders. The only candidate who has any chance of changing that would be RP. He's not a career politician like Romney or Obama. He has no special interest influence, lobby like Romney or Obama, therefore I believe he will serve with moral conviction more so than believing the others who've already demonstrated their corruptibility. (Obama & Romney)

No, it is the lunatic social/neo cons who made up their own definitions, what is conservative about blowing up other countries?

What about a trillion in debt each year, sounds conservative, yeah?

Conservatives or Republicans no longer believe in smaller government, not because the definitions changed, but because they were never conservative in the first place.

Sure, but he can do a lot more can't he? With his millions and his financial backers. Ron Paul has em ya know! Peter Theil runs RP super-pac. But somehow this slides away from RP cult.

The only candidate who has any chance of changing that would be RP.

I have never heard a good response about HOW exactly Ron Paul will change hundreds of people in Congress to be not corrupt or change the face of politics to not be corrupt. In fact, with Ron Paul's policies government and corporations can run rampant with no oversight or checks and balances...

He's not a career politician like Romney or Obama.
What do you think Ron Paul has been doing in Congress for 30 years???? That's considered a long career to anybody! Even if he voted for his principles, he's still in congress. Romney is not a career politician he is a businessman! Oh another fun fact, Ron Paul has been in congress for most of Obama's entire life!

Of course I read them. I quoted a few.

Not a Paul fanboy either but I could stomach a Ron Paul win as long as it keeps Obamney from the WH.

Yeah. Obama promised lots of things too.
How's that workin' out for everybody?
Better yet, how does Romney's voting record reflect on his promises?

You know ATS is full of Paul fanboys (or girlz). What did you expect??

Most of them hate Romney simply because they’re in love with RP…it’s a sickness. If RP came to a sudden stop most of these people would fly right up his….

The things you sighted in the OP are compelling. Though I have my doubts about Romney I will be casting a vote for him in November unless something drastic happens. He’s the only person that has the funds to beat Obama and he sure as hell couldn’t do a worse job than the past 4 years.

Mitt Romney believes that it is unacceptable for Iran to possess a nuclear weapon.
Believes in a strong military offensive as well as defensive.
So you want to go to war with Iran? I should just stop reading right there. That's enough for me. but ill go on.

Mitt Romney wants to amend the clean air act and any other crazy environmental polices that Obama has enacted in his three years.
Because having clean air is crazy?!? Do you want another gulf oil spill? Destroying the environment isn't going to do anything. I don't want to have to explain to my grandchildren why there's no wildlife at all because of people like you.

Mitt Romney would like to modernized medicare and social security so that they are sustainable for our generation.
How? Political dummie speech right there. Just a vague statement that can't be backed up by any real comment.
Mitt Romney believes whole heatedly in legal immigration, as his family were immigrants. As were all of ours. He knows the system for immigration is broken and he wants to streamline it and take away unnecessary regulations that makes it harder for immigrants to come here. He will secure the border and take away all entitlements which entice immigrants to come here illegally.
I agree with this. But where's the details. Another political campaign promise with no way to back it up.

Mitt Romney understands that any economic turnaround starts with realistic and attainable goals. Which is why he has proposed his plan which cuts federal spending below 20% for the first year. He will cut $500 Billion by 2016. He will also make congress cut 5% of their budget across the board on day one!
I don't think those are realistic nor attainable. Not according to his plans. He wants to attack Iran. That's going to cost ALOT. He also wants to cut taxes. Going to war, and cutting the programs listed below won't help our country one bit.
I agree with the principle of cutting our expenses. But it needs to come from military spending. We spend a gross, sick, amount on the military. We need to cut money from there, before cutting money that go to average citizens.

Other plans that affect the economy will be to:
repeal ObamaCare saving $95 Billion as well as individual liberty
He wants to privatize Amtrak which will save us 1.6 Billion
He wants to cut $600 Million in federal subsidies to corporations like PBS and Legal Services Corporation
He wants to eliminate Planned Parenthood which will save us $300 Million
He wants to reduce foreign aid by $100 Million and ask congress why they are sending money to enemies of America. He will eliminate that as well.

For personal income Mitt Romney would like to make 20% tax cuts across the board
Eliminate taxes for those making $200,000 or LESSSocialism!!! not to mention, extremely unrealistic.
For Corporations he would like to make a 25% tax cut across the board.
you do realize he'd be cutting so much revenue from taxes, that the proposed spending cuts would never make up for it. Even though he would be cutting spending, he'd be decreasing taxes by so much that he'd increase our deficit even more.

For Health Care. In place of Obamacare, Mitt will pursue policies that give each state the power to craft a health care reform plan that is best for its own citizens.
He'd probably give the states the power to forbid health care. They don't give a damn about any of us.

TLDR: All you posted was his vague campaign promises with no feasible way to accomplish said goals.

Politicians lie and give vague campaign promises like this all the time. That's pretty much all they do. It doesn't matter what party they are in.

The reason that people are not reading your points about Romney because we have all heard Romney' policies over and over and we don't agree with them.

Simple as that.

We don't agree with Romney.

You are here to tell us why you are voting for Romney. So we are here to tell you why not to. You seem to ignore anything stated against Romney ( Now I have not read every post in this 4+ page thread so I say SEEM) You don't care that he as flipped on all of his policies, and has sided with Obama over and over... Up until now.

You like the fact that he is a war president and does not mind sending out more troops and spending more money. You say that he will take it to the elites, yet all his boys are on wall st.

The MSM is constantly talking about him yet you feel he is not a plant by TPTB.

It seems like you may be ignoring any information against him and blindly follow the man (into a deep hole IMO)

We feel you are wrong and are fighting for the wrong cause, you reasons why really mean nothing in the scheme of things. Doesn't matter why you are voting for him... Its the fact that you are voting for him. Like I said we know his policies so any reason you come up with means nothing.

Its not like you are our only source of Romney information and we are blindly ignoring your stance. Most of us know exactly who Romney is.... So not much need or care for reason.

He will just continue where Obama leaves off for the next four years.. You know Clinton, Gore, Bush, Obama, and Romney are all part of the same club. They should all wear matching green blazers or something.. RP is not part of that group.

We can't have Obama again either so by default my vote goes to Paul.

Well, this thread accomplished one thing for me. You are the first person I have come across who likes Romney. I know several people who now say they will probably vote for him just because they hate Obama, but they don't like him. They were all Gingrich supporters. I'm a Ron Paul guy myself.

I’m speaking for myself here…not the OP!

To be completely honest, one of the biggest reasons I won’t support RP is because of his supporters. I hire people for a living and consider myself a pretty good judge of character. No offense but the people I’ve encountered who are head over heels for RP are some of the biggest losers I’ve ever met. I’m talking about people who have struggled their entire lives to support themselves simply because they make stupid decisions in life…it’s clear to see. So why on EARTH would I jump on the bandwagon with these underachievers? I’m supposed to expect that miraculously they’ve seen the light and have made a decision in life that makes sense? NOT HARDLY!!

Before anyone starts berating me with ugly posts let me be clear…not ALL RP supporters are this way, he just seems to attract bottom feeders (much like OWS).

It’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it!

I think you nailed it! Most people DON’T like Romney, we just can’t stand the alternatives.

Also, as stated already, he’s the only one who has the funds to compete with Obama. Romney can’t possibly do worse than what we've seen over the last 4 years.

Jesus Christ people are f-ing stupid........let the irony in that statement sink in. Catcher's Mitt told me he'd get rid of all the failed policies of yesteryear, he's pretty handsome and he said he'd do ______. What does it matter what he's done in the past or that his backers are the exact same people he claims to not be like, he pinky promised!!!
