An Israeli commentator has the opinion that Neyanyahu is holding elections early so he can be free to deal with Iran by this fall.

If this is true, He is very slick.

The commentator also thinks Neyanyahu is afraid that U.S. president Obama will be too bogged down with his own election problems until early November.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is calling early elections so that he and his government will be free to deal with Iran’s nuclear program this September-October, one of Israel’s best-informed political commentators said on Friday night.

Netanyahu is set on Sunday to announce that he is dissolving parliament and calling elections for September 4 — a year ahead of schedule. In the weeks immediately after that vote, said well-connected commentator Amnon Abramovich on the top-rated Channel 2 news, Netanyahu will head a transition government at home and have no need to worry about voter sentiment, and he knows that President Barack Obama will be paralyzed by the US presidential campaign.

Netanyahu has shocked the nation in the past few days by indicating that he will be calling elections a year ahead of their scheduled date in October 2013, leaving analysts baffled as to his reasoning. Speculation has focused on differences among the various coalition parties over legislation on national service for ultra-Orthodox Israelis, and over elements of the national budget.

Perhaps a convenient attack on Iran will boost Obama and Congress and NATO to act right before November 6th ?

Netanyahu wants to get reelected before Obama does, so he will have a short lapse of time to strike Iran, which he is going to capitalize. Initially, Netanyahu had sought Obama's cooperation as regards the Iranian affair; seeing that Obama remains loyal to his Islamic roots, Netanyahu decided for another course of action, hastening the elections so as to get reelected while Obama still has to face his own reelection, and thereby sparing himself some short period of time to act. That's actually a brilliant move (well, Netanyahu is a genius, after all), and I can hardly believe "analysts" are that blinded by their analytical conceit so as not to see that which is obvious as the sun's lustrous light.

Netanyahu's main rival is Shaul Mofaz, a favorite of mine and new leader to the Kadima Party, Israel's largest political party.

Shaul Mofaz is Iranian born; a tough but fair leader, and I'm a big supporter of this man after watching his military and political career rather closely for the past 25 years.

How so, sabre rattling has never once involved elections a year ahead of time. What makes you think this is nothing? What do you think this is for if not a preparation for actual war? I am curious your thoughts, legitimately.

Netanyahu dare not go up against Iran on his own without the USA jumping in because Israel will get its ass kicked and if Netanyahu wants to go nuclear then Iran has every right to go biological.

Let the USA step in and its game on for Russia and China jumping in to the ring.

Both regimes gain more if they don't go to war, like they haven't from '79, even khomenei was buying from israel. Elections ahead of time is just posturing these days, nobody is crazy enough to let out the nuclear genie.
