First, Argentina yanks the rug from under Spain by taking back YPF (stolen from them during IMF financial collapse of Argentina). Now Bolivia is giving them the finger also. I'm guessing the whole cancer dance the South American socialist leaders had to undergo had the opposite effect than it was supposed to have.

www.reuters.com...

"Chavez, Fernandez, Paraguay's Fernando Lugo, Brazil's Dilma Rousseff and former Brazilian leader Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva have all been diagnosed recently with cancer. All of them are leftists."

www.businessweek.com...

"President Evo Morales announced Tuesday that his government is completing the nationalization of Bolivia's electricity sector by seizing control of its main power grid from a Spanish-owned company.

Morales took advantage of the symbolism of May Day, the international day of the worker, to order troops to occupy installations of the company, a subsidiary of Red Electrica Corporacion SA."

Isn't Spain on the verge of Austerity measures? I'm sure these things won't help their bottom line. Buh bye Conquistadors, buh bye....!!

It's funny actually, I've been saying that the re-nationalization of utilities and other assets that were previously owned by the government would start happening. Unfortunately, where I am, Canada, is a little slow on the uptake. We have to re-nationalize our electrical, gas and other utilities like Bell. When they were "crown corporations" they produced income for the government that offset and reduced our tax rates. Due to all the outsourcing and privatization our taxes have gone up and the quality has gone down, not to mention of course the shipping of tens of thousands of jobs overseas by companies like Bell Canada. Those countries in South America have the right idea, break the chains and bring the assets they started back into the fold to the benefit of the entire country.

BTW, nationalizing the banks is an interesting thought, but I think just the main bank needs to actually be under government control, in the US case, the Fed, in our case the fraudulent BOC.

I think we are going to see a lot more of this as people get more and more pissed off with their governments and the corporobanking cartel.

Cheers - Dave
