Tzipi Livni, leader of Israel’s Kadima party, resigned from the Knesset on Tuesday, warning in her resignation address that Israel’s leaders are putting Israel in “mortal danger.”

Livni warned that Israel’s current leadership, headed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak, has destructive approaches to the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and to the issue of Iran

“Israel is on a volcano,” she said, “the international clock is ticking, and the existence of a Jewish, democratic state is in mortal danger.” This was in reference to the persistent dismissal of Israel’s obligations under international law, continuing to expand settlement construction in Palestinian territory and actively ward off a political settlement.

I think it becomes dangerous when the moderate voices starts to leave.

Why do we rarely hear Israelis condemning Netanyahu on ATS ?

Livni is hardly a 'moderate'.

She is taking her ball and going home.

I'm pretty sure if you map her rapid downward spiral it seems to parallel the development of those loose folds of skin on her neck.

BTW, in terms of factual accuracy, she is the former head of Kadima, having been edged out in recent party elections by Mofaz.

Once the initial shine wore off her perception by the Israeli public, it became obvious she had NO vision for Israel.

Just a quite strange contrarian streak where she was basically against anything advocated by Prime Minister Netanyahu, who did NOT actually win the last election, but was tapped to form a coalition government, when Tzipi couldn't get it done in the time allowed when selected by President Peres.

Compromise is a very basic skill in all of politics, much more so in bare knuckle Israeli politics.

She is quite out of touch with the reality of the situation.

It looks like folks just got tired of her never ending grandstanding Chicken Little routine.

Yawn!

Besides! It looks like the PM is going to call for elections quite soon.

All predictions are that Kadima is going to get squashed.

The Israeli public seems to have finally realized that the 'Peace process' is a farce.

And a shift to the 'right' is expected by most pundits.

So you support that war hawk Bibi then?

When does the Israeli Spring begin?

Can't think of a better place that needs regime change at this point.

Net baby isn't even close to a 'hawk'.

In fact if Netanyahu and his lifelong buddy and former commander Barak weren't in fact real life heroes with big brass ones... I would call them gigantic wussies.

Such is Israeli politics...

Oh, you are advocating mindless violence?

Seems like you would have had your fill of that in the Arab countries.

Curious... I didn't seem to note your concern for the ongoing 'Spring' in Syria.

So what exactly do you have against Jews?

Someone steal your lunch money when you were a kid?
