Another time traveller photographed with a phone to her ear?

makes you wonder why our first cell phones were so huge...considering how small and sexy hers is.

i think it looks like a makeup compact. she seems like she would own something like that.

Notice how the Pixelation of the so called cell phone is of lower resolution than all other parts of the photograph.

It does look a cell phone though, the illusion is a good one.

Given the age of the photograph, it's probably a sea shell she is holding.
That's also Nicolas Cage's first wife.

Not only is she using a phone - she's obviously using a bluetooth earpiece. If you look very closely, you can see the absence of wires in the wireless connection.

Im gonna go with the update on the link you provided for the pic and say it's her hand resting on her face and you see her finger, not a cell phone.

Update 04/15/2012: As noted by Roberto Takata, Poke, João, Lucas and others, there’s probably nothing in her hand, and what looks like the illuminated part of an object is simply her middle finger, or a play of shadow and light:

I highlighted her hand in red, but left out what may or may not be her middle finger or the space between her finger in the projected shadow of her hand. Her thumb can be seen, which rule out either a time travelling cell-phone, an ear trumpet or a folded fan.

Women posing with their hands up against their face seemed like a common pose in the time period the photo is said to be from.

It still is today. Just look at any fashion magazine or magazine in the check out at any grocery store.

Wouldn't it be great if it was a mobile but as others have said it is an illusion created by the light/shadow and the way she had her hand against her face.

Well, the original "time traveler" clip was actually just a woman hard at hearing holding a ear trumpet.

I haven't analyzed this photo but if there is anything in her hands, it's most likely that type of old bulky hearing aid device.

Or an ear trumpet? Which is historically accurate for the era the photo is from.

But after looking at the photo again, it does appear to be just a shadow of her empty hand.
