The coming collapse: what should one expect? How does one survive?

Anyone else looking forward to not taking baths anymore?

i doubt that things like refined gasoline even coffee will get back into the consumer cycle...for everyone...

instead, the underground bunkers the govt has set aside for their favorite paygrades and specialized workers will have 6 months to a year of supplies stacked away...
they won't need unleaded gas and such because they will be living with diesel powered generators etc

as for those of us locked out of those bunker Oasis'...we should already have old timey hand pumped well water, bio-diesel making apparatus for powering that small tractor/generator...
& forget about getting delicacies like coffee or bananas.... that supply line will eventually come back for the wealthy elite enclaves, but not for us masses...
we should learn to drink Chicory instead of coffee, if you have that luxury need...


oh... after the economic collapse... expect the homeland to be strategically nuked by both the Chinese & Russians and do not expect a recovery like the Russians had after the USSR went kaput

i went on (1), only, camping trip where i DID NOT bring a bar of soap...after 4 days you whole body starts smelling like ass sweat. and it's all downhill from there, you get to a point where dirt smells better.

This one is 9 parts. Its broken down into weeks. Its staged on a pandemic but its any emergency which they say at the beginning.

Coffee is imported from far flung places, not likely would be getting any any time soon after a collapse.

I'm asking if we can expect coffee and flour to come back to market shelves in any amount of time, and if there will be markets themselves. If you think the world will never see markets again, great---explain why. Lose the snark and gain some reading comprehension.

Get out of the city, start a garden. Someplace where well water is easily found.

Forget any motor powered equipment.

Get an ox or a horse to pull a plow. A green house would be nice if you live someplace with winters.

Windmill for generating electricity, hemp for diesel fuel. A diesel generator.

Batteries and electric motors for electric powered vehicles.

Oh yeah, tools, guns, and ammo.

Right on, so you see a Hunger Games-style future for the world, with little to no hope of any semblance of our current society coming back for generations? Do you see any hope of humanity---the masses of "little guys"---coming together and working currency-free for a period while we all put our sweat equity into getting the "system" restarted again, from the bottom up?

I've seen it, good stuff! But it only goes about a year out-----doesn't really talk about how quickly "society" gets back on its feet and assumes mass unavoidable deaths-----our people will be tearing down the system looking for food and water, not hiding in their houses and dying in their beds. How do you expect our government to react----isn't it kind of guaranteed NWO takeovers will happen? They won't let our society die that easily when there are still so many profits to be made on us-----do they round us up and cut off our country-living access in order to keep the collective together and controlled?

I am surprised you use the word "inevitable", implying there is an "economic collapse" to come sometimes in the future.

Hint: People live already quite *****y lives, at minimum wage, having no health insurance, getting more and more in debt..having troubles even paying their bills...and this ALREADY FOR DECADES.

So..what is there "inevitable"? The economic collapse is already here for a long time - or are you simply blind or just been lucky not having been hit?

LOL, yout think we've seen "collapse" in any comparison to what looms over us? You must be very new to the Global Meltdown forum.

I expect some level of change in about 5 to 10 years that will drastically change our social economic future, but it won't be a total collapse of society, or loss of technology, just a major reshuffle of the deck.

The decline of world oil reserves makes this inevitable.

In a very generic, mini evolutionary sense it's ADAPT OR PERISH.

Adapt to what? Lawlessness, no communications, no utilities, no food supply, no medical care; etc. Under many executive orders dating back to Nixon, in the event of a 'national emergency' (UNDEFINED) the government can (WILL) seize all food supplies right from the farmer, all fuel, operate all power generation and other utilities, medical facilities; etc. So 'somebody' will be getting these goods and services, being the military, government and elite. In such a case your best, possibly only, chance is to master the art of hijacking. It might sound simple but shipments will have military escorts and/or, more likely, drones as military personnel will desert and return to their families.

Hoarders will face prosecution and loss of goods! Keep a low profile! Look dirty and disheveled and beg for food should you encounter any 'authorities'.

I've known farmers who loved the great depression of the 30's. They could get unlimited hired hands for room (barn) and board. That won't be an option this time.

Not my opinion at all but I expect that many or even most will gladly turn to government slavery in hopes of a subsistence meal.

Corruption will abound if you have something of value to use for a bribe.

What you got to shoot down drones?

When bartering starts to be 'the norm' and there are set values on bartered items, then you will know things are getting back to 'normal' But as gold/silver cannot be eaten or worn, those metals will take a lot longer to be acceptable. Seeds, cloth, clothing, footwear, dried food, other preserves are all worth stocking up with, if you have the spare cash.
