They are being paid by communist unions to protest.

Seriously? Where do I sign up?
I was planning on protesting anyway, but it sure would be nice to get paid for it.

So, how exactly will this help balance out the difference between the rich and the poor? OWS has clearly lost their message and probably their minds!

What better way to screw the 1% by stopping working people from trying to get to work? What could possibly be wrong with this?
I would not get too worried, their last "big demonstration" bank transfer day ended with them giving a bunch of money to wells fargo. So maybe when they try to stop all traffic they will install a few lanes and take the carpool only signs off the freeway.

It IS hilarious! Because I'm not with OWS, never even been near one, I'm just not stupid enough to fall for FOX news brainwashing.

But smart enough to fall for OWS "brainwashing"? Interesting to note you still have not said what is being protested.

Most of these folks are kids who are tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt or folks who are living in poverty. The point is that they simply don't have anything to lose. More and more people are getting to that point, and they're determined to cause as much damage as possible. Maybe they're right, maybe they've got a point. Maybe it is time to just give up and just try to do as much damage and be as annoying as possible. Because, in all honesty, this system isn't working for a lot of people anymore. And it works for less and less every year.

Like me. I'm sick of this system, and I pray that we turn into Greece. The U.S. government is a useless pile. And the financial system is even worse. The government could be fixed by voting in new people and certain financial reforms. The financial system? Ahahaha. Never.

It's meant to show the approximate 1% how dependent they are on the approximate 99% for their approximate 1% lifestyles. If the 99% withdraw from the system, the system will fall.

But they aren't harming the 1%.

They're harming the 99%.

I liken it to riots where the mobs destroy their local shops and neighborhood stores.

Or when someone pulls a gun on themselves. (

I suppose the idea of doing this on an American holiday and perhaps even an American holiday known for freedom and bright futures is entirely out of the question? Is it even an issue to anyone in Occupy that the big event of the year so far is on the day best known as a world wide Communist celebratory day?

It's almost funny how hard they argue to NOT be connected to Communism but then do things like this that might just as well be putting banners for the cause right oer every Occupy camp around. Er.....

I think -their government- is far more dangerous...

The Elite (AKA government) are orchestrating the protests...

"Given that President Obama has openly declared his support for certain ideologies within the Occupy Wall Street movement... President Obama, whose father was an admitted Communist and held top positions in Kenya’s communist party, seems to now fully support an agenda similar to that of the communist and socialist protesters participating in the Wall Street riots, which is to punish all of those ‘more fortunate’ individuals in American society."

"So what does Wall Street Insider have to say about what may happen next? According to the insider, the Obama White House and partisan organizations that support the President are now actively promoting chaos in New York and other cities... The chaos, he says, will lead to elevated levels of anger and the real possibility of nationwide violence and riots"

...but there has been absolutely no denouncement from the White House of what is going on down there. Nothing. Only support. Only encouragement. Even as they are receiving word of the dangers, of the altercations, of the potential for greater violence – the Obama White House only offers its support of these events. Why is that? What is their purpose?

In a move reminiscent of Bush era fear-mongering, the Obama Administration has released to corporate media a vague bulletin warning of possible terrorist attacks on the anniversary of Osama bin Laden’s death. While the actual date of bin Laden’s death is May 2nd, many media outlets (including the Huffington Post, Fox News, the New York Post, and Gothamist) have reported the date as May 1st. In reality, President Obama announced the successful mission just before midnight on May 1st EST, but bin Laden was killed on May 2nd Pakistan time. The Associated Press, who were the first to report the bulletin, correctly cite the date as May 2nd.

While both the FBI and Dept. of Homeland Security (who released the bulletin), as well as the White House and top NYPD officials, have said there are no “credible” or “specific” threats, New York Congressman Peter King told local media the public “might notice increased security” on May 1st. He went on to say, “Obviously if police or anyone questions you or asks you questions, understand why it’s being done.” The same day, DHS Secretary Napolitano told a Senate hearing that her agency was helping coordinate local policing efforts:

During a Senate hearing Wednesday morning, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said DHS efforts "to get information, tools and resources out of Washington, D.C., and into the hands of state and local officials and first responders" have "led to significant advances" in protecting the homeland.

Occupywallst.org

Obama and his administration are only encouraging more of a Police State. Significant advances in protecting the homeland should read as a reassurance to the Corporatists to not worry about the masses.

Just months after Obama signed the NDAA “indefinite detention” legislation into law, federal officials’ intentions to drastically increase security for May 1st conveniently coincide with the May Day General Strike in over 120 cities across the U.S. President Obama has already deported more immigrants than the Bush Administration; failed to close Guantanamo; does not meet the needs of the veteran returning from combat; continues to prosecute whistle-blower Pfc. Manning for taking an ethical stand by exposing horrendous U.S. war crimes; frequently invokes “state secrets” to carry out unaccountable, covert spying on U.S. residents; and continues the widespread use of unilateral drone strikes and targeted political assassinations.

Paid to protest by the communist party? I know many protesters. I have protested myself. I'm not aware of anybody getting paid by the communists to protest. That is just false. Maybe some radical blog is saying that. Maybe you imagined it. It isn't so. Half these people are libertarian oriented. A lot of them are in the Obama camp, too. Some, like myself, leaned slightly to the right.
I can invision a United States that provides health care for the sick, education for everybody who wants it (without driving them 80k in debt). I can imagine a country where the richest 1% do not control everything...including the minds of half the country. I can imagine this because I see it in countries like Sweden, Denmark, and Norway, where the people live under democratic socialism. Where they are healthier, happier, smarter, and wealthier than Americans.
The difference between capitalism and socialism is not objective. What is socialist? Are we socialist with our medicare, medicaid, public school system, and social security? Is Denmark socialist because they have universal health care and free college education? We know the USSR was because they controlled labor in a way that none of the afore mentioned countries do. We must strive to learn as much as we can about things, and to have an open mind. Believing a party line is never smart. Falling for propaganda isn't smart.

The problem with OWS, is that although they show imagination and enthusiasm, it is not channeled into a definitive aim. It is misdirected and a scatter gun approach is taken to a multitude of issues rather than just focussing on one. There is also no leadership, which means no one message can be articulated.

I know this is meant to be the point, that it is an umbrella movement for many different groups. But without a chief aim and leadership, OWS is doomed to failure, because they haven't defined what success to the movement is.

Everybody says Soros the communist. So why is he trying to take out the communist country with another color protest? Funding the White Uprising in Russia through Georgia. Just another color on the rainbow of revolutions around the world.

counterpsyops.com...

We have a long history of taking on the communist with these revolutions.

www.guardian.co.uk...

But while the gains of the orange-bedecked "chestnut revolution" are Ukraine's, the campaign is an American creation, a sophisticated and brilliantly conceived exercise in western branding and mass marketing that, in four countries in four years, has been used to try to salvage rigged elections and topple unsavoury regimes.

Funded and organised by the US government, deploying US consultancies, pollsters, diplomats, the two big American parties and US non-government organisations, the campaign was first used in Europe in Belgrade in 2000 to beat Slobodan Milosevic at the ballot box.

www.washingtonpost.com...

It was against this background that 20 opposition leaders accepted an invitation from the Washington-based National Democratic Institute (NDI) in October 1999 to a seminar at the Marriott Hotel in Budapest, overlooking the Danube River. The key item on the agenda: an opinion poll commissioned by the U.S. polling firm Penn, Schoen & Berland Associates.

Wow planed at the Marriott Hotel. Who is it that is tied to Marriott Hotels?

www.bloomberg.com...

Mitt Romney has long had close ties to hotel operator Marriott International Inc. (MAR) The candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, whose full name is Willard Mitt Romney, was named after the chain’s founder, J. Willard Marriott, a friend of his father. He joined the company’s board in 1993, and has served on it for 11 of the past 19 years, including six as chairman of the audit committee.

Thats right Romney running the hotel that the US and Soros used to orchestrate a color revolution in another country. Seems there could be a lot more than what is being suggested by the media? And back to Georgia being used to protest in Russia. whos been doing things in Georgia and causing problems for Russia. Black Water, John McCain, George Bush seems almost strange that George Soros should be listed there to. Am I doing this right? Soros is left it can't be right. But Putin is charging him for working with all these guys to attack Russia.

After watching variations of this thread and debate since last September, your post stopped me for how simple, honest and blunt it is while not being condescending or the least bit insulting. Somehow, in my opinion, you managed to capture the entire heart of the problem without being the least offensive.

Yes, indeed! If success isn't well defined and no one knows what it's actually supposed to look like, how can the herd even move in the same direction to get there....let alone know when they're close or have arrived? That's the kinda of KISS explanation that just fits like a glove!

It's obvious to me that TPTB want a violent revolution. They want us to leave our homes, with our guns, our brothers and sisters by our sides so that they can crush us all in the same place, at the same time.

smaller tactical groups are given targets to dismantle the enemies' chain of command systematicaly so we won't have everyone bunched up, there are objectives, it's not a run into the bush free for all with the army.
you remove their command structure through incrementally cutting off their ability to attain resources.

God forbid someone point out the fact that the first amendment in no way gives anyone the right to "shut down" infrastructure, commerce, or to indefinitely camp out on public property at the expense of people who actually work for a living.

"Leftist Hippie Kids"...wow that's something that Richard Nixon would say isn't it? IMHO the world would be a much better place if there were more "Leftist Hippies" in it!

It would also be quite odorous.
And it would be full of much more poverty, misery, and self righteous smugness.
Along with a good alotment of lazy with an unjustified sense of entitlement.
This would all be the fault of rich people and those who gained success through hard work, of course.
