I make no statement as to the veracity of the youtube comment but apparently...
He used a Bluray disc burner laser and replaced the toy's LED. Using an AA battery, it is strong enough to burn wood, rubber, or plastic if focused on it for a long time. There are other videos on Youtube that demonstrate that. Still pretty cool. Now if only someone developed a working transporter, we wouldn't need cars, planes, or boats to travel...

Looks like a fun toy, now we just need us some green skinned aliens to shoot at.

THAT IS SO COOL, its such a strange feeling seeing something now REAL, that was just fiction a little while ago.

I think if you were to start waving that thing at drones there would be much police activity around you before you could blink.

Cooooooll!

Guy did an awesome job with that! I keep wanting to buy a powerful laser, but think I would get bored of it too soon to justify the cost. My understanding is that different lasers will pop different balloons, based on the light emitted/color of balloon.

I love nerds.

Oh, this site is kinda neat. Wickedlasers

I think the first comment below the Youtube video sums it up, raw language and all... Just what will archaeologists think hundreds or thousands of years from now, digging though the remnants of old rotten apartments when....uh... WTF?!

Nice.. Wow.. The sheer level of work is staggering. If that guy ever needed a job in set production, I'd say his apartment is all the resume he'd ever need. I'm in awe....

When I was stationed at Nellis, I always started my nights here. Note, never start a night on the town drinking a "Warp-Core Meltdown"
