Well Some people can act all innocent now that a mod has gotten involved and make it seems like they did nothing wrong and Thats fine. They are welcome to act oblivious to the facts and turn things around but we really know what happend. The replies about mr savage were not bad as some would claim they were either. As a matter of fact some of the posters said they respected mr savages right to say what he would. It was also the right of the people who walked out to not be labeled behind their backs as well. Some of us even called out people for being hypocritical but seeing a oppurtunity for Lulz and self indulgent entertainment a few here decided to be aggressive and disruptive to the rest of the people here, and disrupting what was a good thread at the start. They are not even worth mentioning at all ,and even the rules agree on that sentiment.

Inflammatory? I was looking for stuff on the Rothschilds. It's common knowledge. And I just ran across that reference to booth and socialism. You being a left leaner it never occurred to me you would be insulted at the suggestion of socialism.
Oh it must be terribly annoying to find out you are working for the most ruthlessly wealthy rulers of the planet in secret cabal of Satanism, while declaring yourself to be on the moral highground defending moral relativity and the political cause of the day instead of the timeless classics of the true saints.

edit: this avatar is St Catherine of Siena, not the Virgin Mary and I added it to emphasize my post on her.

You weighting of evidence is sad, you find one obscure reference, one single person's uninformed opinion, that some how the Rothchild's "suggested" to the Salvation army church what to use as their shield, an opinion backed by no evidence, and is purely circumstantial at best, and try to tell me I work for the Rothschild's. You later go on the say the Rothchilds are full into Communism, and Satanism, this is all just precious and worth the belly laugh it has given me.

The funny part comes into play like this, the red shield you say was ordered upon the Church by the Rothschild's is a later evolution of a means of easily and quickly identifying the members of the church while they worked. The original crest of the Church is not the "Red Shield" so widely known.

so let's hear your "evil communist marxist satanist Rothschild's" conspiracy theory on that.

If I have love, it isn't for a male. My ex-wife and ex-girlfriends weren't a God, a Father, or a Son. Very few were Mothers, but all were someone's Daughter, and were very sexy Goddesses. I felt love when I saw them (well, most of them anyway).

The whole hollywood gang - loves - to attack the Christians.

Christians are - against - gay marriage and abortion.

Christians are also - in favor of - slavery and the stoning of women.

I KNOW this to be true, because it says so in the Bible. Can you deny that?

Make sure you get your facts straight here.
Let's have a source here.
Do you have a news link to Christians stoning anyone?
Have you been stoned OFTEN??

It's unarguably common knowledge

Look, the Salvation Army does a lot of good for disenfranchised people. But let's look at this in an informed and rational way. This is a conspiracy forum and conspiracy theories are discussed. I wouldn't be the first here to point out the relationship between the Rothschilds and the Salvation Army, or the Satanic activitites of the Rothschilds. I posted my google search results on it even, so you know that 196,000 other people posted something online about it. Not that this necessarily makes it true, but being a devout Christian, I personally would want to know if my employer was part of a Satanic cabal worthy of major conspiracy theories online. Maybe you don't and of course that is up to you.
But let's look at something else. Since you are a devout Christian youth group leader, you would likely know the story of the person who called Jesus good, and Jesus replied, "Why callest thou me good?" Matthew 19:17

King James Bible

And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

or maybe you prefer Mark 10:18 instead

But in any case, this demonstrates Jesus' knowledge of relative good and evil and acknowledged that God is absolute Good.
Along this line of thinking, one can easily see that a person, or a corporation, such as the Rockefellers and the Rockefeller Foundation can have charitable organizations which may help the poor or support the arts(remember all those PBS programs thanking the Ford, Carnegie, and Rockefeller foundations?), but we know that the Rockefellers have funded efforts at de-population, including the well known Margaret Sanger, who founded the American Birth Control League aka Planned Parenthood, which sponsors abortion, and Sanger herself thought nothing of de-population efforts aimed at specific groups of people. So, my point here is that many people do a combination of good acts and bad and what a man may believe is good may be foolishness with God. And where have we heard that ? Why it's Corinthians

18Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise. 19For the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God. For it is written, “He is THE ONE WHO CATCHES THE WISE IN THEIR CRAFTINESS”; 20and again, “THE LORD KNOWS THE REASONINGS of the wise, THAT THEY ARE USELESS.” 21So then let no one boast in men. For all things belong to you, 22whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or things present or things to come; all things belong to you, 23and you belong to Christ; and Christ belongs to God.

1 Corinthians 3:18

I would also mention that sometimes corporations put money into charitable organizations to shelter their money and get tax deductions. So, is it charity or is it a tinkling cymbol? (Corinthians 13:1)

As a final point on the subject of Rothschilds, here is the usual red shield seen on the buckets we see at grocery stores every year

Your post at me, and your segway into that conspiracy theory would be all good and well, if this was a thread about the Salvation Army, and the conspiracy that it was/is somehow involved with the Rothschild's and satanic worship and work, but it is not a thread about that, this is a thread about "christians" and their manufactured outrage at someone pointing out the hypocrisy of said "christians" selectively using the Bible as a tool for hate, bigotry, and abuse.

It is clear to any logical, rational thinking human being that your comment was not about any conspiracy theories surrounding the Salvation Army, but rather a thinly veiled attempt at discrediting and insulting me personally, it amounted to nothing more than a skillfully plied, T&C compliant personal attack.

If you are so concerned about any conspiracy connecting the Salvation Army and the Rothschild's, start a thread about it, there are plenty of opportunities, threads, and forums to do so, this is not one of them, it has sweet bugger all to do with the topic of this thread.

I thought it was a thread about a dude, that goes on a tangent in left field, when he was supposed to be doing an antibullying speech.

Why do some people assume it's only christians that were offended? Someone posted up an article earlier of even a rabbi that thought he was wrong for his speech. I am not a christian, I would have walked out too. So why the assumption?

A gay "dude" can hardly talk about his personal experiences with bullying without bringing the Bible, and specifically Leviticus, into it, as that is where the vast majority of justification for the abuse and bullying comes from. anyone who would expect otherwise needs to get their head screwed on strait.

ETA: Oh, and for your information, the first five books of the Bible, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy, the books of Moses, the Pentateuch, also make up the Torah, the Jewish holy book, so it is not surprising that a Rabbi has chimed in, it is, after all, his holy book as well that was being challenged.

The laws as set out in Leviticus are also the basis for Talmudic law, the Jewish law, did you know that?

He was there to promote anti-bullying, not use his negative personal experiences to launch into a personal tirade. If the guy had acted like a human being on that stage, and not a rabid animal, then he would have probably gotten a positive response from everyone. Like the speech Realspoke put up.

Here we go, this one. Had he given a speech like that, there would probably be no problem at all.
Maybe he thinks kids are stupid, and he has to try and hype it all up and yell insults for them to understand or something.

I thought you were being serious with this story....until I read your words....

pro-Gay agenda of hatred and intolerance that goes under the doublespeak-false-colors of "anti-bullying," you will be ostracised

So you post a thread about an anti-bullying speaker bullying Christians....yet you find it acceptable your self to bully gay people.

So you are against bullying of Christians but are all on board for bullying gays?

I take it you think he should have stood at the podium and simply said:

"HERP DERP, I am here today to talk to you about bullying, but I can't mention anything I have experienced in the way of bullying, or how people justified the bullying of me as a gay man because it means I would have to mention this special book, and mentioning this special book and how it is selectively used, and the hypocrisy in doing so might offend some people in this crowd, born and raised with ultra thin skins, who can't stand even the mere thought of the hypocrisy in selectively following said book to justify the actions of those who bullied me being mentioned....Herp DERP
......
Derp"

Is that what he should have said? I am sure there would have been no difference in the manufactured outrage shown.

It is simple, a gay man cannot possibly talk about bullying without mentioning the Bible as that is the genesis and justification by most who do the bullying. A gay man trying to talk about bullying in the realm of that world as he knows it without mentioning the Bible would have precious little to say. Anybody that knows the least bit about the fight for equality for gays would know this. Your lack of understanding this either displays ignorance, or willful ignorance, both being very sad, regardless of your stance on the Bible, or Christianity.

You pretty much got the idea, as long as the bullying is justified by the Bible it is all right, but if it isn't, then you are being mean to poor "christians". This is EXACTLY the point Dan savage was making in the video, odd how that works isn't it.

OMG, I literally laughed out loud when I refreshed and saw that you edited your post to include this video. Most people are showing their manufactured outrage based on the language Mr. Savage used, and the descriptor he used to describe how most "christians" react when confronted with their hypocrisy. Here you go posting a video, of Dan Savage, that has language in it that makes the language in the video the OP posted look like a group of church elders at Sunday tea speaking, and then you say that this is how he should have acted? I happen to agree totally with Dan's points in the video you just posted, but the language did make me cringe a bit at times, but it is the message, not the medium, that is important in this case.

I can tell you from experience, there are many young adults that almost need a "gong" from a cast iron frying pan to get their attention and get them to listen. I can tell you with many years instructing youth, in my church, and as a civilian instructor employed by the federal government to work with youth in the cadet programs here in Canada, it does some times take stern and strong language to get the attention of some youth, you have to know when to give, and when to take, and when and what battles to fight. The youth are not stupid (for the great majority that is), just distracted, preoccupied, and sometimes brainwashed.

Those kids that are walking out are not even thinking for themselves. One person had the nerve to leave......the rest followed.

Their parents should be ashamed they raised such closed minded children.

Everything Savage said made perfect sense. Why won't christians address why its ok to eat shellfish, why it's not ok to own slave, yet they still can somehow justify gay being a sin.

We are truly living in the twilight zone.

Well, like I said, the thing that primarily surprised me, was the number of kids that walked out.

I was thinking, "Wow. There are actually that many people under the age of 50 who still care about Christianity to that degree?"

It was surprising.

I guess Christians are calm, cool headed people, who walk out. Unlike some others who may have thrown tantrums and resorted to violence. Just a hunch though.

Same here. I ain't religious, but this nonsense is ridiculous. Even more infuriating is that this rogue has the backing of the president. So I would walk out on political grounds. Christians never destroyed America to the extent the lefties are and going to.

And even if the Salvation Army has evil influences I am sure Ryan is working on a street level, just helping people.
