LOL, partisan much? For your information, I am a Centrist, with Left leaning social beliefs,

So left of center and you obviously believe that your cause du jour is the only valid one. No wonder you are upset at my poking around in exposing Marxist infiltration in the church. You are right smack dab in the middle of the ideological subversion. I am not surprised by your crusade and insistence that your fellow Christians are in error.

You are very welcome.

It was very obvious really.

I may not share your religious beliefs per se, but I do share your values and I have a tremendous amount of respect for you, and for what you are doing.

Cherry picking from books and academic papers on peoples opinions of other peoples opinions does not constitute an argument any more than cherry picking from the bible to support hate and abuse constitutes Christian belief.

Anybody who really tries to follow the Bible would do so with a social conscience, remember "I am my brother's keeper"

Have you ever stopped to think that Marx was writing about "popular" christianity as it had been perverted, not people who tried to live within Christ's teachings? Probably not. You are so blinded by your pathological hate for anything you consider "communist" that you cannot see the forest for the trees, and that is so sad really, you are obviously very bright.

I am not cherry picking from the bible to support popular beliefs. That would be Dan Savage my friend. I have directed you to what I believe to be examples of true Christianity as the works of canonized saints. If you have trouble with that, perhaps you might rethink what being a Christian is all about.
Marx had a hatred of religion period. It matters not what the "popular" belief of the time was.
You tell me right here and now what particular teaching of Christ has been perverted? Savage uses the bible to clobber Christians over the head with and you join in. What does that make you?

I guess that can be understandable to me... assuming you have faith in the Lord?

those supposedly pretending to be christians which you refer to atleast confess their faith in front of their foes... that is admirable but don't you think one should rather educate them in a peaceful manner as to not look hypocritical?

Maybe you missed the posts where I said I was a Christian, maybe even the one where I mentioned that I was the youth group leader at my church? As far as educating the pseudo-"christians" sometimes, a smack up side the head is needed when someone refuses to listen in a rational manner to a rational discussion. That being said, Dan did not attack anyone in his speech, he pointed out the hypocrisy in how some use the Bible selectively as a tool of hate.

yes I did, I came midway thru 23rd page I think... my first response was to the OP, in which I did not get an answer because we know all too well it would have derailed the trolling attempt.

leader of a youth group with the vibes I am feeling from your words?

Are you a Catholic, if so you may wanna puke yourself! buddy...

Thank you, there is a reason I left the "main stream" protestant congregation I used to belong to and joined the Salvation Army, it is because they believe in social conscience, and let their "actions" speak louder than the noise that a thumping Bible makes.

A fine saying I like from the church is:

Soap, Soup, Salvation.

I respect your position on faith and religion, and I have come close myself to "unsubscribing" from popular christianity myself because of the perversions I see out there masquerading as churches or religion.

If you are impying what I think you are implying you are truly pathetic.

You have to resort to these vile smear tactics?

Wow, there goes your ticket....

Changing your avatar to that won't save you either.

As it happens, I do not subscribe to the Catholic dogma, I find it hard to justify how confessing your sins to a priest and saying a few hail Mary's absolves you of yours sin, making you clean, and allowing you to go out into the word and commit those same sins again, time after time. My sins are between me and my God, I will only confess my sins to him, only God, and the blood of Christ can cleanse me of my sin, not someone in a black robe and dog collar.

Mark did not hate Christian values, he despised how religion had morphed into the political animal it was at that time. If you bothered to try and understand Marx, hi social values parallel christian values very closely, as does true communism values, and I am not talking about the perversions of communism as Lenin, Stalin ,and the likes created.

Don't pretend to be in a position to order me to do anything:

You tell me right here and now what particular teaching of Christ has been perverted?

Get over yourself. Maybe if you asked nicely I would indulge you, but I do not follow the orders of self important people. Try looking around at the hate that is generated in the name of Christ, it is all around, and when you see it, you will find the perversions of Christ's teaching I speak of.

Savage beats no one with the bible, he pointed out the hypocritical selective use and "enforcment" of the old laws used by many who profess to be christians to spread hate and abuse while they ignore other parts of the old covenant.

Just out of curiosity, when were you going to start ignoring me again?

Then you work for the Rothschilds.

The Rothschilds also wielded much influence and power not only in Secret Societies, but also in Christendom's churches. The Salvation Army under the suggestion of the Rothschilds adopted the Red Shield (Roth-red Schild-shield) for their logo. One history of the Rothschilds remarks, "The Rothschilds had rapidly propelled themselves into a position of immense financial power and political influence. They were an independent force in the life of Europe, accountable to no one and, to a large extent, reliant on no one. Popular lampoons depicted them as the real rulers of Christendom..."(47) Some of the Rothschilds have been involved in the campaign to loosen public morals. The first executive Secretary of the National Student Forum was John Rothschild. This National Student Forum changed its name like articles of clothing. Speaking about clothing, one of the aims of this Socialist group was to promote public nudity, and free love. This organization had the following constituent groups Radcliffe Liberal Club, Union Theological Seminary Contemporary Club, Yale Liberal Club"(48) to name just a few

Slander and insult away my friend, personal attacks of this nature do not worry me, but you might want to do a little "google-ing" on the Salvation Army, William Booth, and the work the my church does before you start trying to toss around insults to derail the conversation.

Look at you people, accusations of pedo sexuality, attacking the Salvation Army, really? Wow.

All because he exposed you hypocrytes for what you are, and now you are proving his point even way beyond that.

Such vile characters, and you claim to be true Christians, give me a break, you won't make it to heaven like this, I can tell you that.

Who is trying to trash Christians now?

That has to be one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard, that is someones obviously biased opinions.

Red Shield
The Red Shield has its origins in Salvation Army work during wartimes. At the end of the 19th century, Staff-Captain Mary Murray was sent by William Booth to support British troops serving in the Boer War in South Africa. Then, in 1901, this same officer was given the task of establishing the Naval and Military League, the forerunner of the Red Shield Services.

Salvation Army officers serving in the Red Shield Services in wartime performed many functions. The Doughnut Girls of World War I are an early example, serving refreshments to troops in the trenches. They also provided first aid stations, ambulances, chaplaincy, social clubs, Christian worship and other frontline services.[26]

This symbol is still used in Blue Shield Services that serve the British Armed Forces but it is widely used as a simple, more readily identifiable symbol in many Salvation Army settings. It is common to see the Red Shield used on casual Salvation Army uniform.[27]

In Australia, the Red Shield has become one of the country's most identified and trusted brands, leading the Australian Salvation Army to prefer to use this symbol over the crest on its uniform, corps buildings and advertising materials. In the 5th Volume of Australian Superbrands it was recorded that "Research reveals that the popular Salvation Army slogan ‘Thank God for the Salvos’ has almost total recognition amongst the Australian public, achieving 93 per cent aided awareness".[28]

The Salvation Army consistently comes out in research as the charity to which people would most like to donate (named spontaneously).

Similarly the Red Shield logo is highly desired by companies wishing to link their brand with a solid emblem of care and compassion.

The uniform also gives the Salvos a very visible presence, often creating a sense that they are ‘everywhere’, although uniformed Salvationists are actually a very small percentage of the Australian population.[29]

I can't believe what just happened here man.

What a way to expose themselves for what they really are.

Proving the point they have been arguing against the whole time.

Alll it took was persistant logic, honesty and reason, and they completely self destructed.

Amazing.
