Yes, my title is meant to be provocative. No, at face value, it is not what I believe. In a deeper sense, however, I am strongly concerned that many are asking to carry more than they are able.

Liberty.

Socialism.

By the good intentions of a few, the common sentiment of our culture is nearly entirely socialist. While this comes at the cost of a rope around the neck, it does provide an environment that prevents, or intends to prevent, massive traumas.

By the good intentions of many, the common sentiment in our culture is nearly entirely liberty-minded (the culture of our times is horribly schizophrenic).

So, what then will happen as our culture transforms from a failed socialist system to a more "wild" and natural (truthful) system?

I am fairly certain, after growing pains, we will be all the better for it. But I would like to highlight the notion of the growing pains.

What if you were injured? Would you be able to pay large sums of money to an out-of-control "medical industrial complex" in order to become well again? The delay between the time of the reign of the "Industrial Complexes" and the return of individual liberty/responsibility is a great danger to us who do not have great authority in the world. Our systems of food production will be weakened, general trade will become imbalanced, even the concept of "value" will lose it's meaning until we re-learn so many different aspects of civilized conduct.

To sum this up, I simply want to warn others that while what Dr. Paul speaks is very truthful and upright, returning to the path of our founding fathers does require you/us to be far better men and women than we, collectively, are now.

And this wave of change will not subside if Dr. Paul loses this election cycle! This wave of change has built a great momentum, and it is still growing. When it is ready to break, it would be best for us to be prepared for the truth and responsibility of liberty.

I trust that, someday, we will minister to each other's needs freely. I trust that, someday, we will not do wrong simply because someone said we cannot do it. I trust that, someday, we will think about the consequences of our actions and fear Truth more than we fear the conduct of other men. In this we will have the good of socialism wrapped in the verity of liberty.

And thus grows the Tree.

One problem, 50%+ of the population is on social benefits of various kinds.

The demoRats and Libtards have bought the popularity vote.

With EU crumbling, you have better odds of it all falling and starting from scratch than people having "common sense" and being "better people" most are just lazy and useless as they have no responsibility to support themselves any longer with this sopcialistic marxist POTUS

Ron Paul is so far from any sort of relevance outside of being a punchline in the mainstream that it just cracks me up that fringe people on sites like this devote so much time and energy to him. snip Ron Paul, he'll never be anywhere near any sort of real power in this country.

And so long as people like yourself are more concerned with numbers than truth, I am confident of Dr. Paul's success. And, again, I am also very intimidated by what it means for us.

He has "lit enough brush fires" in the minds of men and women that he is probably already able to let the rest of the dominoes fall by themselves, but his plans are to continue, and that is a very serious threat to what we understand to be American culture. Thankfully, as I wish for American culture to be preserved to godliness/civility rather than simply having the appearance of good and being putrid within.

Yes, and so the focus of my post was on being prepared to handle truth while advocating it rather than simply glorifying the man who is seemingly at the head of a movement.

Let's get ready, or else we will never be able to handle what we are asking for and we will quickly return to a fascist system.

I have been ready so long now, that I anticipate the fall, If it happened right now, I would be fine, would you?

You realize that to the 95% of society that's not #ing insane, rhetoric like this is either laughed at or completely ignored. Ron Paul ain't accomplishing anything. But at least it keeps the looney 5% busy.

Keep exposing yourself to the media, it's clearly doing wonders for your intelligence.

I do not anticipate a fall. I anticipate a stumbling. A fall will not come until many more truths are realized, but they are even beyond the scope of the Liberty movement.

I am as prepared as I can be without conducting myself like a chicken with it's head cut off.

The Liberty movement (apart from Dr. Paul) has entirely changed my life. While I can accept your trivialization of these concepts, your confidence does not justify your position.

I am unsure of what you thought/are thinking.
It is true that we live in a fascist federal system. It is ruled by those with money and influence.
The Liberty movement will move us away from that and into a system which is far more fragmented and fragile (for a time). If we foster "good" and become diligent and civil, we will continue heading towards Liberty. If we relent, we will return to the fascist system which we delusively live under now.

Agreed, but there are still some very naive people. The MSM influence is powerful to those that rely on it for information.

Ron Paul cannot save this country...He can't save anyone for that matter.
The only way this country could change it's filth to worship of the True and Living God, Yeshuah Hamashiach.
But in my opinion, Amerika is New Babylon anyways....

Great post Dasher, lots of food for thought, Libertarianism is a big mind shift for people, I think more people are thinking outside the box.

If you watch MSM, you'd think the opposite, but the RP campaign really has opened my eyes ... yes I used to think we only got the slant or bias they wanted ... but well it's beyond that now, shocking really... add in all the interesting laws since 9/11... and it really doesn't paint a pretty picture.

I agree with Neo regarding the cult of personality, we need to be careful ... but I think Ron Paul really just wants to get his message out to as many people as possible because we really can't solve our problems with the same thinking that caused them.. if people take time to think out how a Libertarian society could work..they will at least be doing their brains some good...new perspectives broaden everyone's horizon's.

Here's a great Rachel Maddow show from 4/23/2012, which people may be very surprized to hear.

Ron Paul is going to lose his bid for the Presidency.

Read my line again so it sets in.

If you reply to my post with anything other than agreement, I would like to humbly ask you to u2u me after he completely fails and concede that you were totally wrong.

Nobody should ever be "surprised" Ron Paul will win Iowa.... The problem is the big states that are under brain washing. Iowa was always known to be a Ron Paul state
