Beethoven Vs. Mozart....Discuss, please:

I hear a few strains in Beethoven's music.....that I "wonder" if Mozart heard, and "borrowed" from...

Beethoven.....b. 1770. d. 1827

Mozart....b.1756. d. 1791.

JUST THERE to "consider".....the years that over-lapped.

Thoughts??? Which was more "genius" (I vote for Mozart).....AND, not because he may have heard Beethoven's music.....(there were no 'i-Pods' back then!! LOL!!!).

But it wouldnt surprise me if there was also some the other way. Composers were borrowing each others ideas all the time.

My vote goes to Beethoven simply because he did all that while being completely deaf.

If true......:

My vote goes to Beethoven simply because he did all that while being completely deaf.

Then, "yeah!!"

(sorry.....if any who are deaf read this...not intending to make fun. It's just...well, a REAL artist can "hear" the music, by reading the notes, on a page..NOT me, of course.. ).

Well when he started composing music he wasn't deaf, he started going deaf in his twenties.
He eventually went completely deaf and continued to compose & perform!

My vote 'remains' for Mozart.....he knew how to add in a "chorus". to his music.
