World #1 ranked Muay Thai legend and Australia's great John Wayne Parr is holding a fight promotion which is...Muay Thai, in a cage with MMA gloves. An interesting concept i must say, and i feel it could work.

That sounds awesome. I prefer MMA to UFC.

Those UFC guys grapple too much. Always cuddling each other

Mauy Thai is pretty hardcore too.

I wouldn't call it an abomination.

Muay Thai as we know it today was only introduced in the 30's, before that, the Thais never used gloves (Preferring to use hemp rope or no ropes), and they never fought in a ring.

I am willing to defend this event and say that this Muay Thai event is closer to Muay KaadChuek than modern Muay Thai.

With the exception of the gloves and cage, everything is the same as modern Muay Thai. The rules are exactly the same.

Just thought i'd tell you

Either way, Muay Thai is my favorite sport to watch. This looks like it could be big for the sport crossing over into America more so then it has been doing in the past. I had a friend, that use to compete, named Clinton while I served in the Marines that kicked the crap out three men at the same time. That sport forever gained my respect after demonstrating how useful it would be in a real world scenario. Quite the work out as well.

Untill the Dutch step in, this has no meaning... ( What do I suddenly smell...:lol

But seriously there's no better fight species then the Dutch.

Dream, Ufc, K1 , K1 max...

Ufc still not, but Junior will go down pretty fast, i am convinced

Australians, Thais and the Dutch are all the greatest fight species on Earth when it comes to kick fighting (K1, MT...etc).

The Dutch are great at K1 and the likes (as you have stated), while Australia tends to dominate in Muay Thai ( so do Thais of course
)

Amazing how certain species of people come afloat to the surface for decades in dominating fight sports.
