Not only is it a breath of fresh-air but I feel a high-end online video debunking is long overdue for Ancient Aliens. Each season the show just grows more and more absurd and silly and while sometimes its fun to watch and just enjoy for the silly craziness it is I feel it unfortunately represents the opinions of some actual people very well. The fact that people actually buy into this stuff and aren't just watching at home for the Lulz (and Giorgio's hair) is a sobering and frightening reality and this stuff deserves to be torn apart and exposed.

Hi to all...

I find kind of funny trying to debunk a theory that is only a theory... debunking the ancient aliens is just watching the regular and common sources or listening to almost all religions and beliefs.

They claim, they believe but they can't prove.. so there is nothing to debunk...

My opinion though

Regards

This thread made me actually log in for the first time in months.

1) You can't 'debunk' every theory presented. If they do I'll eat my cat.
2) A 'trailer' consisting of clips from the AA show along with text does not (in my mind) constitute a trailer.
3) The website of this debunking 'documentary' was put together in about 5 minutes, with the main emphasis on the email "sign up" option at the bottom.

Will the 'documentary' ever be released? Doubt it.

If it does will it debunk all theories presented over the last 3 years of AA? I bet no.

Will we every get legitimate email from a one step sign-up process on a wordpress page built within 5 minutes by an internet monkey? Hmm

Will I end up receiving email advertising Alien Green Viagra, Martian Brides, Physic Toothpaste, and UFO Abduction Insurance?....probably.

I love the TV series, not because I believe everything that is presented, but BECAUSE it gives a different point of view on topics that as humans in this day and age, we are still not 100% sure why and how things came to be.

That can only be a good thing.

Look out for my new website: www.theancientbibledebunked.com

And the trailer coming soon to YouTube featuring clips from Ghostbusters.

What possible arguments can they have against the myriad of information, facts, first hand accounts etc etc that was on AA the first time around.

The claims you're talking about are only "facts" if you (erroneously) believe them to be true.

Several times here at ATS the half-truths, (purposeful) mischaracterizations and outright, flat-out lies that have been promulgated on that inane program have been pointed out. Your choice to ignore this actuality does not result in the magical transformation of falsity into factuality concerning claims made on the show.

The truth is, on most of the individual programs, there are at least 50 untruths stated as if they were factual. Who in the hell has the time to track down every single piece of evidence that shows each one of these claims to be baseless? I mean, the people making that show, and the people on the show, are making a living by making these innumerable false claims, so their jobs and lives don't interfere with the time it takes.

Mine do interfere with the time it takes to debunk them one by one.

After all, it takes no time whatsoever to simply state some claim is factual (or, in many cases, state that a claim is what "Ancient Alien theorists believe...")

For each claim, literally hours of time is required if one wishes (as I do) to provide the evidence that such claims are baseless.

So good luck with that.

/irony on

Will watch it right after i've watched "David Icke debunked"
(So the retilians don't exist, that means everything that "lunatic" says about the banking scam is also not true)

now let me get some flouride-ice-cubed-cola-light with aspartame

Firstly, I tend to agree in principle with the whole idea of ancient alien intervention, and I really enjoyed the ancient aliens series in the early days, it was a good show to sit down and watch and keep an open mind. However, as has been discussed at length previously, it has, in many peoples opinions, slid down the toilet recently, and has become a bit of a mockery.
The main reason for this is probably due to its' own success. A continual push for ratings etc etc.
I did a bit of digging around the history channel, and came up with this:

www.cracked.com...

The channel is clearly more for entertainment than it is for the pursuit of knowledge. No real surprises there.

I also looked into the academic backgrounds of a few of the presenters. I used to think they were all really credible, as they spoke with passion and conviction. I know Tsoukalos comes in for a lot of stick, (the previous post by the OP that opened with "let err rip" still makes me chuckle half an hour later), but I do like him. Trouble is, do I and others like him because he is credible, or because he is reliable. Take a look and fish out the info on his academic qualifications:

en.wikipedia.org...

Same for Hatcher Childress:

en.wikipedia.org...

And as for Erich von Daniken! enjoy!

en.wikipedia.org...

Unless I have missed something, not much academic stuff to go on, but noone can deny, a lot of passion and conviction.

I have kind of burst one of my own bubbles here, and will never see the series in the same way again; or am I wrong?

(will not be getting the Tsoukalos hairdo now either!)

the movie is ti debunk much of the AA claims. Not to say if there are aliens or not. And it's being made by Christians...yes...so if you're going to be biased and say anything Christians do is pure unintelligent gawk, then so be it, the movie won't be for you.

But if you look at some of my posts exemplifying the claims, you'll see that it's a genuine debunking of individual claims made by the show...certainly we can't do all of them, but I believe we took a good 20-30 claims and dug into them.

which is why there was a team of like 6 or 7 of us who tracked down individual claims one by one...

You're right in that one person can't do all the debunking. It would take hours. I personally did the Huang-di Dragons are space ships and it took quite some time to figure out what's really going on, which actually fit the hypothesis that it's speculation and conjecture based on...more conjecture and faulty sources.

If you look at knowwheretorun1984 channel, www.youtube.com...
and scroll down to the 'Christian' section, you should hopefully be able to form your own conclusions of the credibility of this guy.

so he's Christian...therefore he's un-credible?

This is the kind of sweeping generalized thinking that I don't get. Icke has revealed a lot of evil and has a lot of truth in his enthusiasm to expose the Illuminati. However, the problem is, as the David Icke Debunked shows, is that the source that the NWO operate from seems to be from the same place Icke get's his "spiritual" information from. So either knowingly or not (and I don't think he's a willing agent) he is promoting what the NWO wants.

"pure unintelligent gawk"? Not at all. I spent a good portion of my life as a fundamentalist. Which is why I know that your worldview is skewed right from the start. Unless you are exceptionally liberal in your biblical doctrine, and view of scripture, your objectivity is questionable, because you will automatically lean in the direction that supports your christian belief system.

That isn't to say you can't come up with some "facts", and do a proper job of calling into question certain claims made by AA. But it is to say you will favor views that support your own christian bias, and give less credence to opposing "facts". So the overrall tapestry painted to the viewer will have a christian flavor. But that's OK really, because AA obviously slants the "facts" toward their worldview as well.

I do however, feel that the viewer should be made aware that your documentary is from a christian perspective.

Bravo Buddy! You go! I have had many debates over the years about the insanity and lack of evidence concerning this theory.

I am supposed to believe that my marvelous species was so stupid we needed help to make fire and learn to stack rocks together....sorry...I don't buy it.

Show me one piece of carbon fiber textiles...one piece of advanced metallurgical alloys...anything to prove that aliens ever even visited....no?...didn't think so.

Art is art...it does not necessarily depict historical things...so don't go there.

Stories? Stories are just that...often told for teaching or even entertainment...Atlantis anyone?

I too am amazed at the accomplishments of Ancient Human beings...but I will not remove that credit and give it to some mythological creature or ET's.

Humans are clever and intelligent creatures..."We don't need no stinking aliens"

well again for example...AA claim..."sheered off mountain top...made by alien technology...how else can a mountain be sheered off?" Fact: It's a mesa.

I mean whether the makers of the film are Christian or not the fact is AA just makes ridiculous claims based on really faulty scholarship.

I grew up as an atheist so I know the whole idea of viewing "objective reality" through the eyes of science, logic and reason as the only way to discern truth. I found that THAT has faulty implications and has holes in them as well. So to each his own

Errr....well....I admit, I am now a little disappointed.

Not that I don't think you can separate your personal belief system from a path of critical thinking...I now expect as another poster said, there will be a "tilt" to it.

I don't believe in alien abduction, visitation or intervention. I believe humans and humans alone did all this...and I have my reasons for that...but I don't think this thread is the place to discuss it

I also don't believe that a group of self appointed prophets and priests can possibly understand and comprehend the intention and will of a universal mind...they created books to control the masses of uneducated people....simple. I don't believe in the wrath and vengeance spaghetti monster that fills the pages of the 3 largest religion's texts...sorry...I just don't.
