Lawmakers from two House Homeland Security subcommittees will hold a joint hearing Thursday about the cyberthreat posed by Iran, as tensions over Tehran’s nuclear program continue at a high level, and a possible Israeli strike looms.

Washingtontimes.com

Iran is recruiting a hacker army to target the U.S. power grid, water systems and other vital infrastructure for cyberattack in a future confrontation with the United States, security specialists will warn Congress Thursday.

“Elements of the IRGC [Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps] have openly sought to pull hackers into the fold” of a religiously motivated cyberarmy, according to Frank J. Cilluffo, director of the Homeland Security Policy Institute at George Washington University.

Whoever hacks the US will be the same people currently hacking Iran's nuclear facilities.

Here's a brilliant idea...this may just baffle the experts but how about we REMOVE CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE FROM THE INTERNET. Is it just me or is this just plain silly that this is even a possibility what idiot thought this was a good idea?

Exactly!!!! What happened to the fat engineer who sat in front of a control panel all day drinking coffee and flipping switches... I want them back. Matter of fact there is a great job program. Take all infrastructure off networks and hire the people back to just flip switches...I miss those guys and gals.

I'd love to see some actual evidence of these claims. Seems to me they are just continuing to old policy of claim something is happening, provide no proof, and hope the media does the convincing for you.

Kind of lame.

I await a proper report from these people.

Well if that does not tickle the the funny bone. Let us not stop there.

How is this for a winning idea. Leave iran alone and I am sure they will leave the u.s. alone.

But Noooooooo!

Well, they did hack a military drone...
They probably have a decent cyber-warfare program.

The obvious solution is not to engage in war. duh.

why does iran even bother.

there are probably more american citizens trying and willing to hack the crap out of the u.s. government than there are iranians.

While the US has declared economic war on Iran along with a 30 year old covert war ... and Iran is just getting ready? If any other country would have the same policys against the US .... What would happen?

we ould bomb them to hell and back!

In reality it's a perfect plan for Iran. It's the only true way they can level the playing field. You don't have to have billions of dollars and a million man army. With the computer age one or a few people in a room can cause more damage then anything else Iran has in it arsenal.

If I was Iran I would focus my entire defense budget on Cyber Terror. It's the only true way to hurt anyone with very little effort.

Attention citizens,

It has come to my attention that the terrorists are now attacking the Internet.
As a result, the TSA will be expanding its presence to the World Wide Web.
All electronic devices will be assembled with an iris-scanning device as well as a webcamera so that TSA agents may communicate with you each time you power on your computer.
Thank you for your time.

All you need to know about what will happen is to understand the mindset of the 12'vers and what they believe is their sacred mission....................................which is also why you will never hear about it from MSM..............................because that is what the NWO installed them into power for!

By Reza Kahlili

Despite the recent declaration by Iran that it does not want a nuclear bomb and statements by regime officials that they are willing to negotiate over the nuclear issue, indications from within Iran signal massive preparation for an all-out war as part of its destiny. Nine years ago a Revolutionary Guards arm, the Holy Defense, published a book, “The Last Six Months,” in which it describes the conditions needed in the last six months prior to the reappearance of the last Islamic messiah.

The book was distributed in the hundreds of thousands to all Guards, Basij and army bases throughout the country. Islam’s Shiites believe their 12th Imam, Mahdi, will reappear at the end of times and kill all the infidels, raising the flag of Islam in all four corners of the world. The book admonishes the military forces that they must be prepared to do their duties during those six months and that there will be many signs to help the faithful to understand the transition, which will center on Iran

. The book, which relies on Islamic hadiths by the Prophet Mohammad and his descendants from centuries ago, describes the 9/11 attacks and the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq as signs that the time is near. But it also prophesies much more significant signs that would launch the six-month time frame for the reappearance of Mahdi: an attack on Syria and then an attack on Iran. Both those events are looking increasingly likely as Syria’s Bashar al-Assad continues to murder his own people and Iran continues its quest for nuclear weapons........................................

Well if Iran does then we can not really get too mad at them seeing as we did it to them first.. I thank the US will cyber attack its self just to help them take the internet from us. I feel all this crap about the DNS servers and the FBI is just all part of the same thing. All I can say enjoy it while it last. When they are done what little is left of the internet is going to be of little use. Site like this will be a thing of the past. Every email you send will be like posting it the net for everyone to see.

I seen the birth of then Internet and it looks like I will see it death as well.

Clearly fishing for support of a locked-down internet. Scare people into thinking we will all die if the internet isn't controlled by the government and the endless amount of ABC agencies. Like some others said, why is critical infrastructure connected to the global internet? I'm not sure that's even the case in reality. I wouldn't put it past our governments, but we all know the military has multiple different networks. There are high-security networks not connected to the global network, so why would infrastructure be any different. There is absolutely no need for infrastructure to be connected to the internet. Is there any wonder why this article comes out when CISPA is in the news?

It's strange that I was just reading a story that the White House threatened to veto the CISPA bill. As a matter of fact here it is.

The White House came out strongly Wednesday against a bipartisan but controversial House bill designed to protect the country's infrastructure from cyberattack, warning that President Barack Obama would veto if it passes in its current form over civil liberties concerns and other worries.
CISPA cybersecurity bill gets veto threat from Obama I don't really care about party politics here, but there does seem to be a timing correlation.

No, Iran did not hack the RQ-170. Very, very, very unlikely.

You know, I don't think I believe that.

Mostly because I know that Iran has been playing with STUXNET ever since it got into their systems.

I don't care how advanced you are as a nation, you put your hands on something that intense and you are bound to learn a couple of things. Perhaps more than you wanted to know in the first place.

I don't see it as that big of a feat to hack a military drone, mind you the US will always state that their equipment is better than it actually is.

You know, the save face.
