A Nice Cop...They are still out there

There you go, trying to tell me that I need a police officer to protect me and my family, when I don't. If a "gun yielding maniac" shows up at my front door, I promise you that I will introduce him to a much more maniacal gun yielder... me. I am always within an arms reach, so it is a certainty. Plus the maniac will have to get through the seurity doors and past my three dogs. The doors and dogs will delay the entry of the intruder more than enough for me to set up and wait. Once he is splattered all over the tile by my front door I will call the cops to come remove what's left of him from my house, and that is the one and only time that I will ever call the police. A cop's sole purpose when making contact with someone is to find a reason to arrest them. It's the only way that they advance in their career. In fact, they don't only want to arrest you, they actually look for any reason to make a felony arrest, because that is where they get the big points on that tally sheet they keep that they claim is not a quaota system, but it is. Anyway, keep on loving the police state that we now live in, and accept their tyranny in the name of safety and community.

Leave it someone like you to come in and start rambling about a police state.It has nothing to do with the thread or the video presented.So please spare those of us who don't want to hear it in this thread.There's plenty of anti police threads on ATS.Go find one.

Wow I really did not intend for this thread to create an issue. I thought it would give everyone a moment to realize everything is not bad in the world. I thought this video would be a bit of an eye opener to ourselves even. I guess I was wrong.

I remember a convenience store I worked in had a rule. All cops, ambulance workers, and firemen could get all the coffee, soda and hot dogs they want free. (The town filled their tanks with us.) We never had anyone abuse it. Luckily all the ones I ran across were very nice. If they were feeling down and bogged, we'd joke and cheer them up, and likewise. It wasn't until my daughter 16 years later that I ever ran across a "bad" cop. Some of the cops also knew us because my sister's ex-boyfriend was stalking us. He grab the neighbor's ladder that was outside and climb into our second story window and night. Once he woke me, thinking I was my sister. I woke to a hand on my leg creeping upward. He'd been arrested so many times. (Including threatening to burn down our house with us in it because he thought our mother was "keeping them apart".) Yeah this guy was a real winner. We finally got rid of him when he was sent to prison for breaking into a local store. Plus we had an issue with a guy in the neighborhood that tried molesting a girl I was babysitting (I ran out with a knife threatening to cut something off to scare him away and make him release her.) He got arrested when he tried raping our dog. Some real winners in that town.

About two years ago we had an issue with Wi-Fi, when we first got it. Apparently a neighbor who'd been to prison raping kids lived nearby and used our IP addy to download kiddy porn. We found out when almost 15 cops showed up at our door with a warrant to confiscate all electronics. Cell phones, camera, computers, etc...The kicker was, the cops went to the neighbors house to ask if they'd seen us abuse kids, yadda, yadda, yadda, and as soon as the cops left, he took his hard drive to the dumpster and place the shell of his computer outside his door and took off. They finally got him over another incident. Our other neighbor tried telling the cops it was weirdo they should investigate. We cooperated fully with them because we felt we had nothing to hide. They separated us, asked us questions, etc... Definitely learned a lesson that day about Wi-Fi though. LOL

One sheriff we ran into here dealing with my autistic daughter was very nice. Because she had attacked them earlier in the day she was in the Psych section of the pediatric ER. They had to sit with her to make sure she wasn't going to ballistic on them again. She had only a gown and underwear on as there are no clothes allowed, no strings, etc... When the new sheriff relieved the other one of duty, he was a sweetheart too. He put his cuffs on her during transfer of custody. She kept saying she was a good girl and didn't need them. He explained very gently that he was sure she was a good girl, but he hadn't seen her that day so he didn't know her and that once he sat with her a bit, if she behaved, he would take them off. (he did after a few minutes) She surprised him by walking behind him to "give him a back massage because he looked tired." LOL He was so sweet about it though. He showed her his wedding ring and said just like daddy is the only one that can kiss mommy, only my wife is allowed to rub my back. She then told him she was opening a massage parlor next week (imaginary) and that he could come anytime he wanted for a free massage. LOL He told her thanks and that he would remember that. The whole night, he was a lovely gentlemen. I wish more cops were like those two. Well, I should say 3. There was another incident and the officer was very nice and she told she didn't want to ride with the sheriff, she wanted to ride in his car because he was cute. His face turned so red! Everytime we see him he always asks about her and how she's doing. Some very nice ones out there. (Thank you for your service and I'm sorry a few others are making you look bad.)
