World Wind allows any user to zoom from satellite altitude into any place on Earth, leveraging high resolution LandSat imagery and SRTM elevation data to experience Earth in visually rich 3D, just as if they were really there.

Its a 250 meg download but i have seen some great pics it blows you away. Remember that movie "Enemy of the State" when they where zooming in on the guys running ,well have a look at this .

Note :that area 51 has been cut out !!

i got it but its rubbish! I cant see anything, you just zoom in on a low quality image! I would expect alot more from such a large file. Am i doing something wrong?

If you're trying to zoom in on the US you need to select the USGS button, for the rest of the world select one of the LandSat options. You should see a red square appearing which means the program is downloading new images and the picture should become less and less blurry.

(the LandSat servers are currently offline due to the heavy load)
