I don't know about everyone else, but I'm glad. There are too many photos and things floating around of all these sick children, and it seems it's more or less an attempt at attention by the parents. Yes, we understand your son has downsyndrome, and no you don't need ti remind me every few minutes,

You can't be serious. So, according to you, she can't post photos of her kid because she's "attempting to gain attention" because her son's disabled? What about all those other people that constantly post pictures of their "normal" children? Is it only okay for those who don't have disabled kids to post their pictures on Facebook?

Have to agree that is a pretty crappy move on the part of facebook. Others post pics of their children doing things all the time. Is it a violation just because the child has down syndrom? Is a parent not allowed to be proud of their disabled child now just because of their disability? It dosent make sense. Someone should organize a 3 day boycott of the site or something as protest.

Apparently it is a violation of T&C to post pictures of your Downs Syndrome child. At least, it is for Diana anyways. I agree, there should definitely be some sort of protest about this. There was nothing even remotely wrong with those photos. Hell, I've seen near-nude photos from my younger sisters 14 year old friend's Facebook account of her, yet when I reported them, I was banned for a day for "false-reporting".

I have little cousins that look like that boy, and they don't even have down syndrome...
Once glance and he is just like any other kid.
Another glance, yeah he has down syndrome, but he's gosh darn cute.

Sure, facebook has some s**t policies, one being that if a picture is deemed "inappropriate" that it will be taken down,
Since it's probably ran by a computer, no one person banned her, I am guessing..

However, whoever flagged it as inappropriate, can go shove something where the sun doesnt shine...
I hate people, really do.

There has been a spate of disabled hate groups/pages where pictures of kids with down syndrome were defiled with "retard" jokes. One group called "Dont listen to the guy above me he has down syndrome" has over 3000 members. If you have a look at it you'll see how they use pics of people with down syndrome to hate yet they don't get banned.

It's a shame facebook staff can't use some common sense when telling the difference between hate speech and innocent pics. :shk:

That's exactly how I feel, too. I've seen soo many Facebook accounts spreading hate over ridiculous things that have a fairly decent following, yet when reported, nothing happens to them.

Facebook needs to step up their game and get their s##t straight. :shk:

It is just too strange

Thank you for finding and posting this. There's nothing wrong with those pictures. The only one that could be deemed even slightly (very exaggerated term there) wrong is the picture of him with a fake axe, presumably used for an event.

I followed a friends fb link to a photography page. When it loaded the entire cover picture was a naked lady. Entirely naked. I'm ok with nudity to some extent, but as far as I'm concerned facebook is not the place for it, particularly since this photo was the cover photo and so was viewable to everyone friends or not. Maybe facebook needs to implement some sort of policy whereby you accept the possibility of seeing offensive photos on friends pages or groups that you "like". But since unless it breaks some obvious rules (porn, hate crime, etc) suck it up or leave the group...I dunno, it's all very ludicrous.

someone made a good point that there are other children in those photos with him and perhaps one of their parents flagged the pictures because they didn't want photos of their child on fb. I can understand that!

I could understand that, too, but why destroy the entire album? Why not send a kind message stating "I appreciate the fact that you'd like the pictures of your son up, but would it be possible to mark out my son/daughters face?" Or something along those lines. Hell, I've had to ask someone to do that before and everything went perfectly. It's not that hard to do, nor is it hard to send a quick message asking such a thing.

So you think thats what they had problems with?

You would have think they would have checked with the images first after the report. Three days ban? Something's wrong here.

this is not the fault of facebook but by the stuppid laws being introduced which can be used to get millions when sued in court . its the regulations and laws not the company .. the company does this because its affraid of lawsuits or worse . so we need different president house and congress and remove all this laws and regulations so bussiness can't be suit for everything and we the people and companies are free again to do and say and show what they want.

You guys obviously do not know how "flagging" online works, do you?

Blame her stupid friends, NOT Facebook.

Well if that were true this would not have happened:

Web trolls put picture of Down's girl on Facebook with vile caption

SICK web trolls stole a picture of a young girl with Down’s Syndrome and posted it on Facebook with a caption saying "lose your virginity to a retard".

Tearful Heidi Crowter has only just been told about the sexual and derogatory comments being made about an innocent picture of her online.

The 16-year-old has been the target of several other sick pages on Facebook bearing her image.

The photos of Heidi, from Coventry, as a toddler had been stolen from a website for a parents’ support group.

Horrified mum Liz and husband Steve have been bombarding Facebook to take down the sites and so far only one has been removed.

Liz, 45, said the internet trolls behind the posts had been using images of her daughter for months and Facebook had made no direct contact with her to resolve the issue.

Heidi’s pictures were taken from a local support group website, which Liz ran for about five years.

She said pages carrying Heidi’s image are still active despite Liz reporting the problem TWO WEEKS ago.

She said: “It’s almost like Faceless rather than Facebook, we have been repeatedly trying to take these distressing sites down and I have not once had a direct response.

Tried and tested facebook definently has double standards with reporting and banning.

I would think this is just a mistake on behalf of Facebook. Maybe someone who doesn't like this woman flagged the photo. I really doubt Facebook cares about this picture. It was probably some jealous or hateful user who had the image flagged and removed. Sounds like an oversight on Facebook's part. Sensationalist story and I am certainly no fan of Facebook.

That happens ALL THE TIME. You can have just about any post or image of yours reported by someone else and it will lead to a temporary suspension of your account. I've seen it done with posts that in no way violate any rules. There is no review process. It is automated and based on flags.

If this woman is really getting this up in arms about now being able to get on her facebook account, maybe it's time to quite facebook.

And get a life.

They've also stated in that stupid instagram (or w/e it is called) what you can & can't put in.

It is their product, they can make the rules and if you want to use their product you follow their rules.

I sure hope you're right. I did post it on my FB page - that went ok. But the thumbnail I posted for this pic got a fake thumbnail displayed instead. IDK maybe the news-site did something inside the image file to cause that?

Apparently this is the boy.

Also, I want to say that often such disabled individuals have trouble talking without using slang/curse words. Extra tolerance of that IS appropriate, especially for the disabled. Otherwise they become "shunned" even worse than they already experience.

Yes, that's the son who's photos were taken off. And, according to the Care2 petition (again that I can't cite because of T&C) his Downs Syndrome is so bad that he can't talk. But yes, you are right about that. I would understand if they took down a video of him, if he were able to speak, that had obscene language in it, but a photo?

I don't get it. T&C can't ref a petition? Why? What T&C section? Thanks.
