Is this something you think we might want to know about? Anyway thought this was worthy of sharing. Anyway did ATS search didn't find it mentioned hear yet, so here goes. if mentioned under different title, I apologize.

Oh, yes, of course I know its only a drill, but so-far not a word about in the mainstream. Now while it doesn't surprise it at all, since of course New World Order would never be mentioned except when uttered by former President George H.W. Bush.

Interesting that they are doing it at Ft. Carson, Colorado Anybody know how far that is from the infamous Denver Colorado airport? Any ideas ATS?

Airborne troops from Russia and the Untied States would hold joint anti-terror drills in the U.S. state of Colorado between May 24 and 31, spokesman of the Russian Defense Ministry Col. Alexander Kucherenko said on Thursday.

it's good strategy for both sides to see what each others got, their training and capabilities, tactics and weapons.

because i bet both sides are sending their best of the best. guys who could head shot 5 people in a room in less than 3 seconds. and have probably done it.

I've seen a lot drills on here that have been spun to look like signs of the end of the world. It is very popular for other nations to send troops abroad for cross-regiment training. We might be headed towards a police state with the introduction of checkpoints, cameras, and drones. However, I don't see the tactical advantage in putting foreign troops on our soil to wipe us out. They hardly know our language, our customs, or our culture. Remember these threads?:

I noted that the article said that this is the first joint exercise ON US TERRITORY. This implies there have been past joint exercise. How many, where, when?

Letting my mind run wild

US uprisings put down by Russian forces and Russian uprisings put down by US forces but in either case they would need much larger forces.

Behind all the political facade for public consumption I wonder if the US military/CIA and the Russian military/former KGB are not really 'buddies', but for what logistical purpose?

Before I make these comments I want to make clear that I’m not mad at anyone on this board, I am expressing my thoughts on the article it self. It makes me very irritated when “journalists” post this kind of stuff online and potentially put people’s lives in danger.

1: Ft. Carson is located south of Colorado Springs, due east of the Cheyenne Mountain complex. It is the home base for the U.S. Army’s 10th Special Forces Group.

2: These exercises are common, they take place every year and normally involve more than one nationality. The exercises often involve competitions between the various units. The actual exercise will not be carried out at Ft. Carson; it will be carried out at an undisclosed location. Only the weapon drills will take place at Ft. Carson. I’m 99.9999% sure I know where this will take place, and I’m not posting it online! Which brings me to…

3: The Russian military must be lead by idiots to leak this information to the media! One of the nightmare scenarios for special operations has always been the threat of terrorists discovering the location of a training exercise and using the opportunity to kill some counter-terrorism specialists. Clearly the Russian military has some serious issues with operational security.

This is one case where I have no problem with the MSM failing to cover the story. This story has no value to the public, there is no threat to the public, and there is no viable reason for the public to know about the exercises. Just because we have more freedom in accessing information, doesn’t mean we need to know everything.

They've been doing military exercises up north - this article is dated last year, 2011

"Accordingly, a measure of uncertainty and a perceptible note of suspicion were evident to military planners as the exercise was resurrected," Canadian Col. Todd Balfe, the deputy commander of Norad's Alaskan region, wrote in his report on the 2010 exercise.

This year's drill began Sunday with a simulated American passenger jetliner flying over Alaska and not responding to air traffic controllers.

Under the scenario, no one on the ground knew what was happening on board, so warplanes were scrambled to pull up along side and make visual contact. The airliner was eventually turned back to Alaska.

The drill was conducted with a series of exchanges between Russian and Norad military command and controllers, with jets and air surveillance from both sides fully engaged.

On Monday the same scenario was repeated in reverse, this time with a mysterious airliner coming out of Russia. It too was repelled from North American airspace and was escorted back home, eventually by Russian jets.

"Both days went off pretty much flawlessly," U.S. Air Force Capt. Uriah Orland told The Canadian Press on Tuesday from Norad's Alaskan headquarters. "We had good connectivity" between Russian, Canadian and U.S. air force participants.

Orland said many of the past communications obstacles ironed themselves out this year.

"This being the second year, it's really allowed us to kind of resolve a lot of the issues we've had with that by having good translators and really working through the protocols of what information is passed," Orland explained. "Both sides know what to expect and how to expect it. So that's really helped with that communication piece."

Could this be to avert North Korea or Iran from lighting the fuse on a nuke
Russian paratroops on US soil is unheard of
Maybe this is a joint mission to stop NK from fitting a nuke to a ICBM or stopping Iran developing their weapons programme any thurther

Uh this isn't the first. The Russians were here where I live a few years ago. I vividly remembering running into one at the PX. They were all rather polite. Now the Brits come here often. I'm sorry if I insult anyone from Wales, but some of you guys are like the rednecks of the UK or something. The welsh guy was speaking to me and I couldn't understand a word. I knew it was English, but damn.

this is no big deal, when i was stationed in alaska in the 90's, Russian soldiers used to come to Ft Wainwright for training with the US military, we do joint ops with many countries
