I came across this video today and thought to myself this is very interesting and very scary at the same time.
The video in question shows a version of a poor mans drone and it it one powerful puppy. The video is titled "Quadrotor Equipped For Destruction" and it sure made me sit back and think a bit.

I see this thing three ways, one it would be easy to shoot down with a shotgun, two it would be very hard to shoot down if there were 20 of them buzzing around you, three it looks cheap enough to offset the shoot downs and take out the targets.

If this critter is legit, it may be a very scary thing for the public for sure.
Perhaps I am over reacting here but I believe this thing is real and I ask for what purpose?

The video shows one powerful cheap drone and very maneuverable too!

To the mods here, I had no idea of where to post this so move as required if you please.

Strange times here for sure.

at 2:13 there is a glitch.
And a little bit after there is a attempt at a vortex above the the rotors.
should of been going down and not up.

Fake.

Fair enough I have asked the mods to review and delete this thread if it is a hoax.
I apologize for posting not factual stuff here.
Thanks so much,

After doing a little more research it seems that there is a tie in with a video game.
either black ops or call of duty.

just another clever piece of viral marketing.

What's to call fake? It looks real enough - but even if it wasn't the concept sure is valid (minus the gasoline in the targets). What you don't like exploding bullets? Grenade droppers? Self-flying bombs?

"Looks like the future's going to be fun"... have a nice day.

It would be cool to have a combat toy like this
But i think the recoil would make it to unstable to fly
And it was given as evidence of cgi in this thread

though this particular video may be fake, i'm absolutely certain that the concept of armed drones is an all too real and all too persistent theme in many a warmonger's dream . a dream that could become a nightmarish reality (end of the world and all that notwithstanding).

Houston has drones with shotgun tasers and grenade launchers. Certainly bad enough.
I was thinking a laser pen might be more effective than a shotgun but I'm not sure...

You do know this is CGI right? Its sponsored by EA. He gives hints across his twitter in you tube comments.

Check the Call of Duty website (www.callofduty.com...), look at the left most picture, its a video game screenshot of the quadrotor. Clicking on it links to Dmitri's FPS Russia Video of his CGI quadroter video. And finally at the end of the video he thanks EA.
