MACON, Ga. (AP) - Authorities in Georgia say a grandmother foiled a robbery attempt by two armed men by getting into a shootout with them, injuring one man.

Police told The Telegraph ( http://(link tracking not allowed)/IbEZXT) that Lulu Campbell just dropped off her grandson at her daughter's house early Saturday morning when someone demanded money outside her car, threatening to shoot her.

Campbell says the man fired at her, missing. The 57-year-old fired back, striking him in the chest. Her truck sustained eight bullet holes in the hood, one in the grill. Both front side windows were destroyed. The second man fled after she shot at him.

Campbell, who owns convenience stores and gas stations, always is armed.

Police say 32-year-old Brenton Lance Spencer has been hospitalized and was charged with aggravated assault and attempted armed robbery.

Just found (via reddit) a little update on this harmless grandmother.

Macon Woman Arrested for Possession of Meth, Making Terroristic Threats

Macon police arrested 58-year-old Luisa Campbell friday afternoon at 4506 Marion Avenue. Police were sent to the residence in reference to terroristic threats.
They found Campbell sitting in the passenger seat of a car with a handgun in her lap. Two more guns and a bag of meth were also in the car. She's also charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Sheds a little bit more light on her lifestyle, and probably the REAL reason she was going to be robbed.
