I think video by a govenor in Japan asking for help with reactor 4 that has all the spent rods was enough for me. the problem is what , besides moveing into an underground bunker that has the ability to filter the radiation out of your air for who knows how many years, what can we do?

It is obvious that the nuclear industery does not have a clue what to do or they would not just sit by and let this happen............................or would they?

If this is all 'rubbish' it shouldn't be too hard for you to do the same now would it?

If you can find real source to back up your claims believe me it would really make my day and just about everyone else who's worried about the situation!

They don't 'have to' do anything... I am expressing an opinion about how to get this toxic stuff off of the face of the earth. The way I see it, all of those spent fuel rods do is sit there and cool off... I don't know about you but at the rate we consume energy, it's scary to think that the amount of spent fuel rods will only increase.

Your solution of just moving it to another power plant I'm sure could work, but that to me is like putting gum in a dam to fix a leak. If there is no way of disposing of this stuff safely on the earth, (or in) then I say let's look into getting it off the face of the planet!

I liked the idea someone else posted about putting it underwater in a trench to be taken down to the mantle, but I'm not sure we have technology that could handle that. I know we can get into space; find a way to safely get some on-board a ship, and send 'em up! Of course there is no guarantee that the ship wouldn't explode, but it comes down to the available options. Leave them there, hoping for no other EQ's or other events to strike Japan for another year or two, or move them into space.

Again, this is just my thoughts as to a solution to the problem at hand. I'm sure there are plenty of other ideas, this one is mine.

Ok and run the risk of totally destroying another worlds ecosystem? Or drastically changing it? Not only that, its a possibility that they could RETURN at some point and reenter the atmosphere causing even MORE damage

Surely if you can make nuclear rods(enrich them) for use in powerplants, then why can't you do the reverse? Assuming that can't be done then find a place to store them somewhere safe. Who cares what people want? It is not like they really have a say in anything....just play the national security card, like you do with ufos and aliens.

The bottom line is we have criminal negligence and a dumbed-down population. It is not even negligence, it is first degree mass murder, aka genocide of the naive/gullible who believe in corporations and government. I don't know why everyone needs to pay the price for this stupidity. I would rather play carefree golf at st andrews, pebble beach or augusta national, but I have to worry about everything!

Well, we could either drop everything and frantically search for a tech that sucks up stray radioactive particles and renders them inert or take out huge loans, eat, drink, drug, travel and romantically intertwine until our skin sloughs off...

Not really, the mindset of the Japanese people are different now (no longer being brainwashed by suicidal leaders) plus, now they are more screwed than anyone, with those reactors are on their homeland!
It did cross my mind that the fanatic Japanese in WW2 that wanted to send biological or radiation in the winds to the United States are now pumping lethal amounts of radiation into the Japanese air (we are getting some but not as much as they are!)

You know, I've had my suspicions about the elite prepping for this scenario. Remember when the media and government were going around telling everyone how bad salt was for you and some restaurants even stopped offering it on their tables? People need salt in their diets and it's a natural form of iodine. What if this was being done to make humans more susceptable to the radiation, while the elite were getting all they needed to protect themselves? I also wouldn't be surprised if they were hoarding kelp before it all became contaminated.

WTF was the public outcry last year?? Nah forget about it, I rather see what color panties brittany spears is wearing. The media discused the topic for about a month but since TEPCO and the Japaneese government conspired in every imaginable level, what the hell is there to report?

You can't blame the people for everything. You can only blame them for tolerating evilness under the guise of incompetance. Trust me if we could go to the moon during the late 60s and come back, while covering up all the findings, THEN SURELY we could have ended this stupid nightmare in the first month. Even concreting the damm thing shut like the russians did was a much better alternative to just dumping water till the plant itself collapses and the rods radiate the maximum energy.

Lets just sit with our thumbs up our asses and pretend government knows best. I wonder what disaster the reptillian masons have planned for next year since they are getting ready to shove the world currency up our asses as well.

LOL, yes let the martians deal with it... But in seriousness we have sent Voyagers I & II successfully out of out SOLAR SYSTEM, I'm sure it's doable to aim away from neighboring planets/stars. Hell, send it to the galactic North, (if I'm saying the correct term) and you won't hit any neighboring planets.

Even then, the United States has like 23 of the General Electric Mark 1 reactors where the spent fuel just sits on top of the reactor in cooling pools. There's like 100 times the spent fuel amount in the US compared to Fukushima, and apparently they didn't think of ways to dispose of it. If the US was to suffer an EMP attack, or a massive solar flare hit and killed the power grid, the problems the US would face make Fukushima look like a sparkler.

Watch this vid; the guy explains the situation in the United States. I am so against nuclear power. IT IS NOT SAFE. It works like a well oiled old clock when things are under control, but when they get out of control, the entire globe suffers. And once again just like when most any multi-national corporation F's up, it's private profit, and public cost.

I think your on to something. They knew better. How could they not when they have some of the greatest minds that work there but they pretend to be so stupid. I work with a women from Japan who was born with disabilities, that came about from her parents who also lived there when we dropped the bomb on them.

One day I was joking around with her about it and I said you guys were sneaky. Her answer was, "yeah you never know what we are going to do" and she laughed about it. Maybe your right they just might be laughing at revenge.
