Good point about the Wisconsin dilemma.

That whole State was ultra radical fanatical fibbie libbie infested for a long time.

They really looted that treasury.

Businesses were severely restricted I think too.

No, Wisconsin has gone in the toilet since the GOP has taken over -

Do your funny words hep turn off your brain or what, what is that?
????

Jobs have left and the economy has slowed, that has nothing to do with the treasury

Wisconsin Saw Largest Job Losses In The Last 12 Months

While Walker has spent the last twelve months slashing state budgets and busting unions, Wisconsinites have been dealing with the consequences. New data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics show that Walker’s state saw the largest decrease in jobs over the last year, dropping nearly a full percentage point:

Over the year, nonfarm employment increased in 45 states and the District of Columbia, decreased in 4 states, and was unchanged in Alabama. The largest over-the-year percentage increase occurred in North Dakota (+6.5 percent). The largest over-the-year percentage decrease in employment occurred in Wisconsin (-0.9 percent).

In fact the three states that saw the largest decrease in employment rates are Wisconsin, Ohio, and New Jersey, all GOP strongholds with highly partisan/radical Republican governors. This is what you get when you wage a war against the middle class - a failed economy - the same thing we got under the last Republican president.

hmmmm.......

Or let another Liberal like Jim Doyle run a State into the ground from 2003 – 2011 ..................

In 2009 the Pew Center on the States listed Wisconsin as one of the ten worst states in fiscal peril. “Wisconsin’s history of budget shortfalls and pattern of borrowing frequently to cover operating expenses, among other measures, made it poorly positioned to weather the most recent severe economic downturn.”

Debating Doyle’s Legacy

Numbers have gotten WORSE - Wisconsin has gone the complete opposite way of
the other states. How much denial do you have?

If I wanted America to fail, I'd install in Congress a sizeable faction that exists only to obstruct the policies of the guy everyone else elected President. I have members of that faction poised to badmouth the Administration no matter what it does. I'd see to it that the only alternative to that Administration was among candidates who were all dedicated to backward simplistic policies. I'd see to it that government didn't have enough money for any of its policies, nor even to continue some important programs from previous Presidents. And, oh yeah, I'd start up a whispering campaign that President is some sort of imposter promoting a foreign culture -- and I'd talk about "Second Amendment remedies".

What was that? Oh, really?!

Neo99 - how quickly you forget that in July/August there was a big uproar by conservatives about the budget and they held social security checks hostage over the whole thing. I remember it quite well because my roommate is on social security disability!

STOP TRYING TO REWRITE HISTORY.

Wait, WHAT?! "neo-con liberal". Did you actually use those two words together in the same sentence to describe an entity? Clearly you're not talking about the short-hand term neo-con in the political aspect, the term that's short for neo-CONSERVATIVE, a movement born from a Chicago professor in the 70's to combat the growing "liberal hippie culture".

Both stimulus packages were pushed by liberal infested Congresses.

This liberal was pushin' it pretty hard, right?

My brain hurts reading this thread, not because the content is hard to comprehend, but because it's overflowing with double-speak, propaganda and blatant false-hoods.

You didn't explain anything, you posted up someone else's words... Wisconsin is
currently shedding jobs two years later, you explain why this is happening even
though conservative policies have been implemented, unions have been crushed
and the state has shrunk there... Explain it so we can all see if you have a mind of your

I'm a big fan of Cicero - he had great insights into roman politics and the world. It's pretty funny you quote him, yet that quote goes against the things you're arguing for.

Aww dude whats with all the negativity can't you be positive?

"Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century:
Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others;
Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected;
Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it;
Refusing to set aside trivial preferences;
Neglecting development and refinement of the mind;
Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do."
— Marcus Tullius Cicero

Ciao

1.) Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others
- Isn't competition (ie: crushing others) the first pillar of support for capitalism? Yup.

2.) Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected
- Society can be changed and the issues within it corrected. Small tribal cultures across the globe function in a socialistic manner on a small-scale, and have functioned for tens of thousands of years, without issue. Why do we have such a big problem with it?

3.) Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it
- Read #2 again, please.

4.) Refusing to set aside trivial preferences
- .... "Imma consurtivartive, and refuse to work with liberals"...

5.) Neglecting development and refinement of the mind
- "Let's cut all fine arts programs from schools to conserve on budgets! Kids don't need to know how-to play instruments to be good worker drones"

6.) Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do.
- see #4

Total hogwash. Although admittedly, many Republican politicians are just as bought off as Democrats, it simply is not true that Republicans are trying to stop the needy from being helped. The problem is systemic and socialism is a very large part of this systemic problem. Big Govt is simply a cancer on society and we need to stop it at it's very source.
I suspect you and others here are totally for the Nanny State taking care of people, and maybe you really believe this Utopian fantasy and maybe not.

Oh don't worry, Obama had his hand is that whole fiasco, but it was just a single example.

Let's look at the bigger picture, shall we.

www.huffingtonpost.com...

Date: 03/1/10

The filibuster – tool of obstruction in the U.S. Senate – is alternately blamed and praised for wilting President Barack Obama's ambitious agenda. Some even say it's made the nation ungovernable. Maybe, maybe not. Obama's term still has three years to run. More certain, however: Opposition Republicans are using the delaying tactic at a record-setting pace.

That was two years ago... has anything changed since?

www.morrisdailyherald.com...

Date: March 30, 2012

The Senate blocked an effort to end billions of dollars in tax breaks for the oil industry, brushing aside President Barack Obama’s argument that the five big oil companies were doing “just fine” while consumers were struggling with painfully high gasoline prices.

Nope!

How is socialism such a cancer on society? The nazies were doing a great job with it until their leader went crazy from syphilis.

In fact it pulled them out of an economic situation in less than 10 years, that was magnitudes worse than what we're seeing in America.

Here's the reality about the economy. If people are not spending money, then no one is making money. Currently our system is stagnant because those with money are not spending their money, so something needs to come in and take action to balance the scale of supply and demand, and the only thing that has that power is the government.

Well actually the people have the power to, but do you really want to have a repeat of the french revolution? Really?

I see that conservatives have become perverted... The last generation of my
family were conservatives, all of them, this Neo crowd has changed it and
made it a disgusting world view. I would love it if Eisenhower Republicans
would come back, now all you guys are are corporatists and servants of
the wealthy, that GROW the government.

Your state has lost over 20,000 jobs in the last year, you now have the worst employment
stats in the whole country. Your state which is controlled by conservatives is doing worse
than the national average... But guess what? Your rich folks there are richer, EXACTLY
what Walker and conservatives want. It is cause and effect - You pay teachers less,
they have less to spend and then small business's can't compete with Walmart, so they
fold and BOOM - Conservative dreamland, everyones free to suffer

And it is simple, if you do your best to screw workers, you are gonna eat it, they will
have less to spend and your economy will collapse.
