Regarding "Global Cooling", one article in Time magazine in the 70's does not make a trend. From NASA (yes, i know you don't believe those evil liberals)

Most of this warming has occurred since the 1970s, with the 20 warmest years having occurred since 1981 and with all 10 of the warmest years occurring in the past 12 years. Even though the 2000s witnessed a solar output decline resulting in an unusually deep solar minimum in 2007-2009, surface temperatures continue to increase

If Solar output was the cause of global warming then temperatures should have decreased in 2007-2009. And don't start this anecdotal "it snowed lots here" crap. We are talking about a world wide average, not what it was in your town.

As for energy, the guy is an idiot. Energy prices have gone up because Oil is harder and harder to get. All cheap oil is pretty much been pumped. Almost all of the major oil producing countries in the world are in decline. The only reason the U.S. is experiencing increases in Oil Production is because of Non-conventional crude (I.. Oil Shale) and Biofuels such as Ethanol. Anyone who thinks the U.S. is going to become number one in oil is sorely mistaken.

If they did no one in this country would be able to afford it. Oil Shale is an expensive, water consuming process. With a third of the country locked in persistent drought, I have a hard time believing most people in states with water are going to be keen on giving it up for Oil Shale (considering they will have to pay more for water). Not to mention the EROI of that particular energy source is pathetic. You will pay 5 to 6 dollars a gallon for it. The production declines rapidly as well in these fields. The only reason Oil Shale is even viable is because oil is so expensive. This should clue you into the reality that oil is never going to be cheap again.

Now someone might bring ANWAR, if there is oil there, it's only about 6 months worth of it (less if you go by world wide demand). There are no controls to make sure it's only sold here, so it would do you no good. It will simply be shipped off to a country where you can get more money for it. Furthermore, you have to sink pipeline in a tundra melting due to global warming.

And now let's talk about offshore drilling. Companies have to move further and further out. Is it regulations? Maybe it's part of it, but most of the big oil finds are going further out to sea. It cost upwards of 100 million dollars to build these rigs and they get more expensive as you go further out because you have to drill deeper. Do you think that cost isn't going to be passed on to?

The simple fact is, Oil is a finite resource. We need to know how much there is and how long it's going to last. That will never happen. No one will read this and all responses will be "You are an evil socialist liberal"

Yes a person taking care of themselves is evil.

Yes a person with a Private Retirement account that will be worth millions by the time retire or get sick or hurt or get fired and not have to wait 50 years to collect and collect between 5-10 years if they live long enough or have to worry about liberal big government that makes healthcare coverage cost in the millions.

It's Karl Roves strategy to blame your opponents for using the strategy you are actually
using yourself.

The economic collapse and all this bull has not been good for Left Wing policies, look
around you and there is your proof. All these events have been used to attack unions,
entitlements and other left wing staples. The right benefits when government fails
because it sets them up to cut the things they hate AND implement pro rich policies.

You can be right wing all you want, but at least use your brain a examine the truth

Well atleast the one he created. You even had the US government hacking and exploit machine avoid hacking Apple products. And any bad press was quickly squashed by the government ran propaganda machine we call MSM and backed by the US propaganda machine the BBG which was ran by Isaacson. So Nacy got her payment for droping the persuit of torture and investigations of torture through her pick of a stock in a manipulated economy. Steve Jobs success came from Pelosi selling out. And its the same process used to this day. Just like Facebook becoming what it is through the help of the government making it what it is through In-Q-Tel a CIA ran investment company who told him what to do. Steve Jobs was told what to do and the rest was taken care of.

So in 2006 nothing changed. It all still goes on the same way it allways has.
