I just saw a report about it. It hit near a town called Winnemucca.

Some people had reported to News 4 and other media of a possible local impact. News 4 has reached-out to a number of local law enforcement agencies, state agencies and federal agencies looking for exact answers on what happened this morning. No agency has given us a definitive answer.

Doesnt seem possible to me that there have been many if any injuries associated with this event as I believe we would have had some reports of such by now. Still up in the air I guess you could say

Or it could just be the start of the Lyrids meteor shower : April 21/22 ...happens every year .

The Lyids have been going on alreday for some days, but so far not the best. Ive seen blinks and i was lookin for them. The odds..

saw a big meteor last week in Maryland. thought it was a plane turning, a double white light, and it was gone. real big.

I'd just like to take this opportunity during this very active meteor shower to remind everyone that Meteors are purchased and valued by the GRAM weight. Find one of the unusual or rare variety..or one like this which may be common but millions hear about..and you'll likely retire with at least 6 zeros in your account balance. Maybe 7 if the right rock lands and you find it.

I was thinking the same thing. If I lived by, I would probably take one of those metal detectors and on the weekend try to find where this thing came down. One man's feared meteor is another man's treasure.

I was driving mY cab here in Palm Springs,Ca. At around 930 am or there abouts I did see this in the northern sky. It was quite amazing and quick. It looked like it would land in the mountains near 29 Palms. But you never can tell the distance.
It is one of those things that make ya go WOAA.. That was awsome. WHat was it.

Guess it is my lucky day.

I used to live up in Pine Grove moved out to El Dorado Hills about a month and a half ago....i personally didnt hear anything here but when i got off work this morning (graveyard shift) i was on the phone with my girlfriend who still lives in Pine Grove...my call log says she called me at 8:20 and at some point during the conversation she paused and said "thats wierd i just heard this wierd noise and the ground shook kinda like we just had a tiny earthquake" i didnt really think anything of it till i read this post and saw that your in the county and heard it as well
