Let's look at the evidence.

A study like this only serves to keep up with the status quo. Serves to keep up the idea that the left and right are not illusions. You can stereotype a person all day long, and group them in left Verse right ideas. When the whole time, those who are spoon fed this type of propaganda, will in turn, keep up the same kinds of stereotyping and ignorance that is expected of you..
Keep up the good work! You play into the whole left VS right illusion, and keep people at ends with each other.
Just understand, no one needs to defend their stance, or puff up their chest..
You tell a man he is weak, you are manipulating them..

I wonder why you are trying to manipulate? Is it serving a personal agenda? Or perhaps maybe its an ego thing?
Either way, its pure manipulation!
And one sure way to control the masses is with manipulation, fear, and ignorance.
Split them right down the middle, and attack a person mentally.. Once you have done that.. They will play right into your hands.. And you will have that WIN, you are looking for..

do you respect the weak scientists and inventors whose innovations have changed the world and are now looked at as necessities?

i think many intellectuals who do add to the progress of the human race are physically weak, for spending more time enhancing their minds.

I agree to that part, mate.

I always think that the mind should be more trained than the body; more time training, less time for learning and knowledge.

Liberals seem to talk highly of the man.

I admire a man who has never done a real job beyond being a part time law lecturer having the confidence to take over the reins of the most powerful country in the world.

What is certain is that Obama falls comfortably into the findings of the study that liberals are somewhat less physically imposing.

well i personally believe that balance is the best thing to posses... physically fit, mentally sharp, open minded, ready to learn and understand,

when there are heavy dynamics look what happens,,,,, strength is the right way,,,, thinking is the right way.....
it is a balance of al things that is the only way.......

Really didn't need to see a picture of Arnold, but I bet you enjoyed looking for it.

You probably got a wide stance.

Real men don't look anything like that, and they don't do steroids.

It's interesting, if true.

For example, if we're negotiating with Iran, does it matter whether our leader looks big and strong? The link referenced by the OP also has a linked embedded that "concludes" we can see how strong someone is by just seeing their face alone. So it doesn't require a lot for the iranian leader to measure the physical strength of our leaders. However, is this psychological trait that was evolved over thousands of years to measures physical threats (specifically from men, not woman) going to work in a world with atomic bombs and chemical weapons and manufactured virsues???? What if you're negotiating with a very primitive nation that's raping woman and killing children and they have leaders that look very strong and intimidating? Should we keep our distance? Or will the fact that they're technologically primitive be the new measure of threat level rather than physical appearance?

All of this assumes that the studies are truthful and not derived from bias.

You are making unwarranted accusations against the OP with an appeal to emotion and dismissal of facts.

If ancestral males could benefit from making facultative adjustments to their sense of entitlement and willingness to impose on others according to assessments of their own personal fighting ability, then we should expect evidence for such mechanisms to persist in modern humans.

Specifically, this predicts that in our modern world, even when the rational effect of upper-body strength has been minimized owing to modern weaponry, comparatively low rates of violent interpersonal aggression, the existence of large and well-regulated police forces and judicial systems, and the extinction of or markedly reduced exposure to natural predators, a man’s mental faculties will still respond in predictable ways to his personal fighting ability.

In other words, men respect physical strength. Do I respect Obama on a physical level?

Not so much.

so this is all about you being big.... therefore you can disrespect those smaller then you? like you i only live in a world of shallow superficial judgement.. im glad i was born big and strong with the ability, resources and environment to work out getting bigger and gaining more strength,, everyone should be like us,, if they are not they are idiots, weak, and undeserving of respect...... well we have our many categories for judgeing fellow men, we for now, dont respect him for not being big and strong, and also maybe this is related we dont respect his political affiliation, dare i add his skin color?

In reference to the idea of Presidents and strength? I don't think the physical strength is the issue for a major leader. They aren't going to go 10 rounds with another leader on the back lawn and it's been a few years since a President handled something with a duel, so reaction time isn't even a factor.

What I think IS critical is Confidence. Supreme Confidence. If they don't have it, they must fake it really well. Clinton had it... Reagan had it by the truck load. Bush and Obama both have/had inferiority complexes in my opinion though. Bush handled it by faking it...and using Cheney to hide behind as much as not on the really nasty stuff. Obama..well.. He's faking it with the best of them, but I think the nation was a little ruined for the trick after being burned by a Bush. If Obama had come first, he might have gotten away with it a lot better.

Are there mentally wimpy men with Physical strength? Sure.... I think it's less common than insecure men who know they're physically weak though. So to the extent that relates, it matters.

* BTW.. I thought Arnold would have made a fine President (but for the little Constitutional birth issue...lol) until he ran California for awhile. Arnie got owned by the political machine of that state. The National machine would have really smashed him. It's never what I expected from him in a leadership position. Oh well.... Strength doesn't show everything, no doubt.

Obama's skin color has nothing to do with him being less physically imposing.

He does however clearly fall within the implications of the findings of the study that suggests that people who are less physically imposing are more likely to be left wing.

Men respect physical strength as much as liberals would like to redefine human nature in their own image.

I believe that the best trait in a leader should not neccesarly be his physical strenght, but his character. A leader should know more about diplomacy, should show that he is trusty, that he is reliable, caring, and treat his enemy with more subtle strategic and passive plan, than rush immediately into war because he is ''strong'' and ''fierce-looking''. Strategies and subtle tricks always won over pure strenght.

Well...we are part of nature after all...so, like other animals we strive for power. Power means a higher chance your offspring will survive yadayada. Males are hardwired to protect the group against intruders. Maybe...more muscles = more testosterone = more defensive thought/behavior...something like that.

Perhaps less intelligent males use bravado and brute strength to overcome obstacles.

Perhaps more intelligent males use negotiation and rationale to overcome those same obstacles...so they find little need to have an imposing muscular physique.

Peace

You make an interesting point.

However why do you appear to assume that intelligence and strength are mutually exclusive?

Surely being both physically strong and intelligent is an evolutionary advantage?
