Emotionally disturbed, in what sense? The article doesn’t indicate what symptoms are apparent. Don’t bad mouth, piss off a cop, and not expect him to do what comes naturally. Emotionally disturbed? Did his mother make the call to the police? Did he threaten his mother’s life? Did he threaten to take is own life? What do we really know about the events prior to the incident?

We know, FROM READING THE ARTICLE that the officer who called for backup said the kid was guilty of nothing and she was merely calling for backup as a matter of procedure.

We also know she maintains the kid did nothing wrong and her colleagues just jumped out of their cars and started beating him

You can’t take a snippet of the information available and expect to reach the correct conclusion other than it looked as though the subject was already subdued when the second officer piled on. Why aren’t they interested in filling a civil rights case against the officers? Could have been the kid was asking for it. So the kid had a few lumps without any lacerations. I have seen bouncers in bars do a lot worse. Hope it brought the kid out of his emotional disturbance anyway

Seriously, you need help. This is not enough evidence to get any type of a conviction, and for what? Taking down a suspect? All the kid has to show for it is a couple of abrasions on his scalp. You call that police brutality. You are an over sensitized pansy. Kids take worse beating then that at grade school. Truth probably is the kid is like you, never had any discipline and the cops show up to do what his mother should have done years ago. You should live in the magical land of perfection, oh wait you could find something wrong with that too.

This is what i have high doubts about. There's alot of big talk coming out of the USA regarding it's armed populace, but at the same time police where i live wouldn't even THINK of pulling these stunts because any bystanders would jump on the police en masse, unarmed.

No amigo, you need help. This is a blatant case of rampant abuse perpetrated by the police. A kid with mental problems who had a mother call the police to assist with his delivery to a hospital via ambulance instead has he kid bum rushed, tackled, and then beaten for doing...........nothing but waiting for an ambulance.

See, the cops are there to serve US you fool. No different than firefighters or EMT. Asking a cop to be there to help is not asking them to give your child a beatdown.

Well, I just sent a nice letter to the Ridgefield Police Chief, let's hope that the female officer gets treated like a hero, and the two punk sergeants get time off or fired.

I told them: "The whole country is watching you, and we are all waiting to see how Ms Tasca, and Kyle, get treated".

Zero tolerance for bad cops.

Absolutely shameful! Over use of force caught on tape, wow where have I seen this before? Any judge who would rule against the female officer should lose his or her job. Police departments that look the other way when their own officers step over the line just increases distrust of police officers. This police department should be ashamed of themselves. These secret blue line codes should be on trial instead of the female officer who was protecting a civilian from police brutality and abusing their authority.

Code of Silence
When an officer is in trouble on the job or in trouble with his wife or girlfriend at home, he counts on his buddies to cover for him. He gives them a story that explains why he "had to do" whatever he did.

Whether or not they personally condone his behavior, they may rationalize his behavior, saying he was stressed out, under a lot of pressure, or quite simply, that he's only human. They repeat his version of the story and they stick to that version. They put themselves on the line with their fellow officer.

Whether testifying in court or smoothing things out at home, the rules are simple for them:

Say as little as possible.
Answer only the question asked.
Don't give details.
Deny all accusations.
Say "I don't remember, I didn't see that, or I don't know."

Finally a good apple. And what do they do. Toss it right out of the tree. Shameful.

Working as intended. It is good for the program if the future scapegoats actually deserve what is coming their way. If it accelerates= Obama wins election= military coup.

The wolves fill up all positions within society: from priest's and ministers to bankers,executives, businessmen/women, judges, doctors, politicians and officers of the law, with the most vile, conscienceless monsters around. It isn't lawlessness. Looking at it as lawlessness is one of the problems with modern society. When those "We the people" choose to represent and protect us fail to do so and instead abuse the authority WE give them, it is our right, no, it is our DUTY to stand up and ensure that those people never have the ability to do so again.

If working within the system does not work, it is within the law of "We the people", the true governing body of this land, to stand up and ensure that it happens through whatever means necessary.

Another element of this story, is the fact that the cop who stopped the beating, was gay. I know I won't be popular for pointing this out, but I suspect that a lot of straight people are not accustomed to mentally associating heroism and moral integrity with homosexuality. Regina Tasca said that the other police in her unit have behaved in a discriminatory manner towards her because of her being both gay and the sole female there in the past, and that they were using this incident as justification for getting rid of her.

I think we need a lot more stories like that, and that it could really go a long way towards continuing to improve gay-straight relations if we had them. It might become a lot more difficult for Christians or other bigoted people to claim that gays are supposedly inherently morally degenerate, if we had more reports of them engaging in the sort of heroism that this woman did. The woman in question was a 12 year veteran with numerous commendations; and in addition to having done the right thing here, she is being targeted because of her lesbianism, as mentioned. She is obviously a very worthwhile and conscientious officer, and she does not deserve the treatment she is receiving.

While I'm not a fan of rubbish tv, I will always have time for equal rights issues. This is about overbearing authority figures about to get into a scrap and lose - nothing else.

"don't cross the blue line?" Geeze, sounds like "some" of the military personnel who think they can't disobey an unethical order. I understand command line, and all that, but sometimes you are asked to do things that you shouldn't, and you should stand up at that point, and question that order. We're not robots, our leaders can be wrong too. Actions can be wrong, no matter where they come from.

I would say it's more like a gang or secret society, that's a better analogy imo. One must also protect and side with your "brethren" lest you wish to be de-assimilated and rejected from the inner circle. This story reveals the true core nature of what the police force is really about. It has nothing to do with protecting innocent civilians and everything to do with carefully calculated manipulation, intimidation and abuse of authority. Anyone in the force who truly wishes to behave in the way society expects them to be behave will be thrown out like trash.
