What scares some with his performance in this piece is probably what will get him elected. He was a complete moron in the last debates as well but Gore rolling his eyes lost him some appeal among 'heartland' voters because they thought he was being smug.

Face it, the vast majority of people who support Bush wouldn't have been able to answer that question either so having a President who seems more like them (uneducated) bolsters their confidence. He appeals to people who want straight answers to complicated problems and they don't want to be bothered with the details.

If everyone eligible to vote did so he would probably lose handily but unfortuately, the majority don't and so we are left with these mindless robots with no historical or factual perspective to make decisions for the rest of us. All Bush has to do is continue to appear strong on terror regardless of his complete failures in this area and he will have the election in the bag.

Yet, we are sending troops to die in Iraq so that Iraqi's will have the right to vote in a Democracy. The irony is disgusting when you think about it. We don't even use the very system we are promoting to its fullest...hell, even moderate extent.

These presidential debates are just like eveything else in politics.

Just on that note, remember that when the Iraqis vote they might exclude those areas which are against the US occupation from the election... thus eliminating any support for any candidates that may want a government that isnt an american lap dog..

On the debate (i cant actualy download vids from work), i am assuming its the one where bush answers a question about soveriegnity but using the word soveriegn (and its variations) every second or third word...

Yeah it just confirms what everyone (who isnt in denial) already knows... bush is a moron, and really should be in grade 4 or 5 learning things that any self respecting high school graduate should know

Which may eventually erode whatever the results end up being. If the entire country isn't participating it will be a sham. I think this is what will probably happen in order to get the election held on time in January.

I really don't think he's unintelligent, I just think he has led a life of privilege and positioning that made him think an education wasn't necessary. He's a text book example of having everything available to him with regards to education but never using it fully. People say its an act but video's like this prove he isn't very well read or up on most complicated issues.

He is an ultra Conservative and they see the world very simply, everything else is just details to be ignored or demonized.
