This handout photograph released by the National Institute of Child Health (NICH) in Pakistan shows a newly-born child with six legs at a hospital in Karachi. Doctors in Pakistan say they have successfully operated to save the life of the baby, born with six legs due to a rare genetic condition, hospital officials said Thursday

Never heard such a thing in my life. Changes are they will not be removed and the kid will be studied in medical centres all his life but thankfully a life was saved!

aww bless the poor little dude. Probably going to have some kind of lab rat lifestyle, being prodded and poked every now and then. I remember one of my neighbours, when I was a toddler, had a book with loads of old black and white pictures in, of people who had extra limbs and bits and bobs. I remember a woman sitting in a chair with 4 legs, crossing both sets and sitting back quite normally. (sorry to ramble, but the picture from the book came to mind when I saw the thread.

Hope the kid can be left alone so he can live a normal life.

This doesn't look like one baby with six legs, but a partial Siamese twin set. One of the extra "legs" look like an arm with a hand.

And people think nuclear power is good.

How sad.

6 legs + 2 arms.
8 limbs, first real-life Spider-man ?

Seriously, glad the baby is still alive. Sometimes birth defects can jeopardize the baby's life once he is out of the womb.
I just hope he can live a normal life.
