This was a tad bit north (10 miles) of me.
Is anyone keeping count of these fiery anomalies lately? Why is a meteor (not meteorite) in a view-finder for at least a minute while this guy filmed it? Don't they move rather quickly?

Contrail?
I probably won't be the only one to say it, but it looks like a plane.

This is REALLY interesting. I wonder what it was?

*and the lady in this video is an idiot* - she really needs to just not talk

Yeah there are a lot of these lately.

I saw one posted from AZ this morning.

Are they meteors? The thing in AZ was a little different.

Nice find.

I think the girl said it in the video, and the guy got pissed off and stopped recording.

Ummmmmmmmmmm, negative!

There was a plane crash about 3 weeks ago but it wasn't on fire. It had mechanical failure and crashed in Wellington.

This....is NOT a plane!

looks eerily similar to the 'april fireball'

broadcast on news as a nasa confirmed meteorite

which was later corrected to be contrails.

I'm going with meteorite or falling satellite. The trail is too inconsistent for a contrail, imo. It is not smooth and has 3 areas of concentration or bulkiness, kind of. Yea, there has been multiple fire in the sky sightings recently. Are we entering a belt of some sorts maybe?

Peace,
spec

That's what "they" want you to believe.

Just look at them try and explain this Texas one a couple of weeks ago. Puh-leaze.

No if you watch the entire video you will see it isn't a plane.

The last 5 or 10 seconds you can see sparks or fire at the tail end.

If you haven't seen the DARKEST HOUR, I suggest some of you do. Those things were fiery balls falling from the sky and turning people into dust. Hmm, the ending of the movie was totally a waste but the beginning and middle of it was okay. Maybe the movie is preparing us for the worst. Looks like the producers got turned into dust by the end of the movie, because it had no ending.

I want to assume so too but do they streak across the sky THAT slow?
We saw it for at least a minute. No telling how long the OP saw it before he grabbed his camera.

And let's say this was a meteor. What does that make?....like 5 within the last week?

With that guesstimation, I rather this be something else because...we're in trouble then. Meteors, that size, aren't THAT common, are they?

I don't think this is a plane. I've saw a few meterorites and they have always meved fairly quickly across the sky. I think your right about this possibly being a satelite or space junk coming down. Videos I have seen of that stuff moves slower. Maybe somebody can tell us if the diection of this is consistent with the trajectory of satelites in low earth orbit.

I think it's a plane as well. Why? Because every time I see a video like this it is accompanied by a setting sun which gives the contrail an orange/red tint resembling a trail of fire.

LOL! You would think we'd learn by now. Interesting how all these slow moving "fireballs" happen in the twilight of sunset.... derp.

Nice plane.

Fully agree at 0:15 you can clearly see it is a plane anytime as the sun is setting at the right angle it will make the con/chem trail look orange!

I think it's a contrail with the sun reflecting off it from the background. It certainly can't be a Metiorite for as slow as its crossing the sky. Anyone who watches the sky knows that they move much faster than that.

Having seen a Slow Moving Fireball in Southern California once at night while driving out Highway 2 at night I can safely say it looked similar in movement and weird sparking.

The one we saw was HUGE it seemed to be at nearly the same level as the mountaintops. Blew our mind how slow it moved, we had plenty of time to pull over and wonder WTF it was. It was truly awe inspiring.
