Why are there no other country's military bases in the US??

Simple as that.

I see soldiers sporting flags from several different countries here at Ft. Sill. Just yesterday I saw a group of 6 german soldiers at the spot I was eating lunch. Also recently there was another country testing and training missiles here. As well as aircraft training. Why would they want to pay to maintain a base here when they can use ours?

Don't know if it is worth answering this thread after reading all the idiotic 'we are king' or 'we are badass' posts...badass if badass means picking on third world powers with underdeveloped militaries maybe, or perhaps profiteering out of evil dictators (Hitler springs to mind).
But anyway, not sure how much of the base is British territory but the RAF have a small section of a base somewhere in Nevada from which they fly our drones out of.
Nothing compared to the occupation force and 120 bases in our country, isn't Hitler dead and the cold war over?

It's hugely expensive to have a military base outside borders. Besides all the logistics, you have to pay to have the base there, since military bases are also considered a natural hazard (potential).

And the US doesn't have that many bases outside the U.S.. What the US military usually does is to pay the government of a certain country the right to have the military (being it boots, air force or navy) stationed there. For instance, the Lajes airbase in Azores (Portugal) doesn't belong to the US, but the US pay the portuguese government a fee to use the base.

Cooperation treaties like NATO means that usually those prices are lower for western countries, and even if they don't pay to be there, they are "invited" to have their troops stationed at those bases, like in Germany, for instance.

The rest of the bases are usually settlements between governments. The US gives certain amount of aid (monetary or weaponry), and in return it is allowed to have military forces in foreign bases.

The fact that the US is the country with most bases outside it's territory is explained by the defense budget. The US are the only country willing to pay that much for such an extensive defensive/offensive grid. Most other governments would never be elected or re-elected if they would spend as much as the US does in foreign bases.

But they are not the only ones, by the way. The UK also has other bases, or uses NATO positions.

Some countries have "given" bases to the NATO forces, allowing them to stay there. Either for strategic purposes, or just for practice.

The reason why the US doesn't have any foreign military bases inside it's borders is mostly due to the fact that the US is also the most powerful military force, especially among it's allies. Which means, there is simply no need for other countries to place troops and means in the US.

Having that said, there are foreign forces inside the US. They are simply operating with NATO, or other military cooperation treaties.

Air-Force Cargo facility @ Dulles Airport

This is on the westside of the terminal. When driving towards Dulles exit right at the Services sign adjacent to the lake. At the top of the Services ramp, turn left onto Aviation Drive which changes into Wind Sock Drive). You will find a small parking lot on the left next to a fence. Officially you are not supposed to park here but if you do not stay too long nobody will bother you. On this platform you will normally find a large number of bizjets. Luftwaffe C-160s are often parked here as well. The German Air Force has a small base at Dulles and sees several Transall flights a week. The A310s can also be seen once in while. You also have a view of 19L. People are not very fond of photographers especially after 9/11 so be very careful here.

In very few cases do other countries ask for us to place a military base in their country for protection. The reason goes back many years. In America's quest to dominate the world, we would lend money to countries that needed it, knowing they couldn't pay it back. So when we said hey its time to pay up they would say we don't have it. So America says that's fine, we are going to put a base in your country and we are going to take whatever your greatest commodity is at a discounted price.

We have setup many countries like this in order to get a stranglehold on intelligence and black operations. It has nothing to do with protection for those countries. Its protecting the resources America just stole and gathering intelligence.

This is why we have bases outside of our own country. Now that the veil is lifting on how they spend the money it will crash down. Don't be surprised to see China have a base built within a few decades as basically we now cannot pay them. Its already started as they took most of our American factories. That was them saying oh you cant pay well make laws so big business comes to our country at the discounted price to us.

I'm sure i'll get called crazy and yada yada, but the truth is always hidden in plain sight. We are just conditioned to think about the what's going on to the left and right instead of looking straight ahead.

Or no ones found enough valuable materials or raw goods for us to be invaded, might happen soon actually because our military is occupying foreign lands and note the homeland lol..

Why are there no other country's military bases in the US? simply because The US hasn't been invaded and then defeated.
