How to film a UFO without fail

I need to add that it doesn't matter if you're facing the sun or not. I originally had down that one of the persons needed to throw it in, and to make sure they threw in the right direction, they'd have to have some sense of where they needed to throw, which was in the direction of the sun.

But I think the catapult is a better bet. For one, you don't have to stand so close, and two, if you know the distant you're catapult can send items of that size, then you can be pretty certain as to how far away to set up without failure. It's just math.
