History is censored and changed on a regular basis and that is fact. School books are changed every two years to constantly modify things. What we are experiencing in this fallacy of an economy now was written of in the history I researched in school in the seventies though. History told of a Roman Empire that had citizens who wanted a consumer based economy and it didn't work. The Bank problems are the same that existed in our countries history that we had access to. The problem is that we are taught that this problem stemmed from problems with our ancestors that have been worked out. I think this whole thing is a big con game, someone ran off with all the money again. If 85 percent of all the real money left this country after the crash a few years ago, what are we working with? I seem to have a little cash and a little money in the bank and some long term investments in the stock market. I understand that isn't real money. Maybe all our retirements aren't really there, it's just another cruel scam.

Well done!

(And much more lucid that I was expecting!

You're right -- they want to keep us "on the field" until we're exhausted. The economy isn't made for us -- but for them. And when they slip up and accidentally allow education to become a little too "robust," and people to get too easily comfortable in an economy -- why then, you have a 60's! (though some well-timed/placed assassinations took care of that...)

You have people asking Too Many Questions, as you noted. Much easier to keep them scared and hungry...Now -- will the herd be smart enough, collectively, to realize they vastly outnumber those running and rigging this game?

Please if you would; describe the replacement system you propose and exactly how it would work? Speak to things like:

- Infrastructure
- The Rule of Law
- Governance of large populations.
- Defense against enemies.
- Manufacturing of products.
- Distribution of products.
- Trade
- Schools

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Why are you putting this onus on me, exactly? What is this, problems are like farts now, and the smeller's the feller - you find it you fix it? Why are you throwing the responsibility of millions of American citizens squarely on MY shoulders simply because I'm pointing at a hole I THINK I see in the oil pan?

Just because I see a hole in my oil pan doesn't somehow magically make ME THE FRIKKIN' MECHANIC. I just spotted the hole, and I'm wondering if other people who own the same car as me have spotted that same hole in their cars too.

I don't know about you, but I do not want ME fixing that hole in my oil pan, I want to take it to someone who knows what they're doing - experts in plugging oil pan holes. Not software engineers.

In other words, by this logic, that means that YOU get to fix the bug YOU found in the software that *I* wrote.

What a sweet deal! Boy, do I have a TON of work for you..

Wow, relax. I flagged and starred your thread and I said nothing against your post in the above. I was interested in what you would replace the system as it is now with exactly, which is an extension of the conversation you started.

Our dependence has been deliberately engineered and our economy, as we understand it today, is a contrivance, conjured from thin air. The whole entire thing is a sham; a sham that has been deliberately rigged from the start that we have all been forced and conditioned to participate in. And that is the heart of this conspiracy theory: we can't NOT participate in their contrived socio-economic game.

Capitalism actually does work well for those motivated enough to try and participate. It only works against those unwilling. Your clearly saying more than just they won't let you grow Hemp

And I say Forced Participation, for, if we do not participate in their economy, their contrived game collapses - so they've done everything they can to keep us "on the field," as it were. Of course there are people who are living off the grid, but you need a very special skill-set to live effectively that way, and guess which skills we AREN'T taught in public school?

You can however learn on your own. Schools are just to teach you how to learn; as mature adults schools are no longer necessary and we are all free to learn anything we wish now. Here in the US there exists places where people can and do live off the land legally, including here where subsistence living is often practiced. You have that freedom right now.

The captains of industry from around the time of the Great Depression needed grubs to manufacture their junk. They needed monkeys smart enough to push the buttons and run the machinery but not smart enough to start asking questions. For the ones smart enough to ask questions, they instituted the standard 40 hour work week to keep us too busy and tired from scrambling around to ask questions.

Some glaring errors here in regards to history. The short 40 hour work week is the direct result of what you complain about. Prior to what we have now, 16 hour days and 7 day workweeks were common practice. It's gotten progressively better and not worse. Being able to support yourself only working 40 hours a week is only possible due to productivity under a Capitalistic system such as ours.

My own Father first started working in the Coal Mines in Utah in the 1930's after the last year of school available to him then in a rural area, eighth grade. He was paid fifty cents a day by the mine and required to live in company housing and get all needs from the company store to keep working. It cost over sixty cents a day to do and they worked 7 days, 16 hours a day at that time. He helped form the Union.

You bring up the idea of meeting your own needs if their were no intervention, but your failing to see that, that lifestyle is labor intensive. Being raised around farms and ranches I know that that life requires sunrise to sunset labor to survive and no holidays, weekends off or retreats unless you dump your work off on others. What you suggest leads to longer working hours for less, which is fine if that is your lifestyle choice. You want a short workweek, the only avenue that leads to that is making more money per hour and only a Free system like ours allows for that.

I'll leave it at that and I'm not laying those questions on you for nefarious purpose, I was simply interested in your opinion.

Pretty funny considering he's metaphorically only decrypted one face of one 20-sided die...out of all the 20-sided die that have existed throughout the history of our planet...not to mention any planets or universes that may have existed before.

Yep, just the tip of the iceberg. Sorry about that, pal. And considering how hard it was to figure this one out...

Good luck unlocking the rest of those achievements.

Great post and thread. It is the survival mechanism of the malignant organism called government. That's why I also don't buy the FEMA camp thing. They'll never throw us all in them because then who make the widgets, who'd work to bone to keep their debt load just one penny shy of homelessness? Well, maybe they'd force us to labor (think: the private prisons that now contract services out to all the tech giants. That's real by the way).

I've always thought Ayn Rand had it backward when it came to "Atlas Shrugged." It is not the wealthy owners who might someday shutter their plants and live happily ever after behind their walls, but rather the fear that the people will mass strike and force the machinery of wealth to grind to halt. I hope to see that day. Until then, we are all the pawns you describe.

I appreciate the amount of thought and effort you put into this post.

It's nicely worded, easy to read, and gets to the point.

I completely agree with you and have felt this way for awhile, although I hadn't really noticed the History and Math thing before. Believe me, those were my two least favorite subjects in HS, and most other people that I knew as well. Mainly because like you said, they were boring (they seemed to get the most monotone teachers to teach history) and/or too difficult to understand. Like math for me. I remember the very last day I started carrying my math book to class. I asked the teacher to explain a formula that just wasn't sinking in, and his words were "If I spend any more time teaching the formulas to those that don't understand them, I'll hold the rest of the class back. Figure it out yourself." I basically gave up in his class, and somehow guessed really well on the end of course testing, so I scraped by.

I didn't think that I would ever want to read history books "for fun" but a few years ago when I got more into conspiracy related topics, I realized how useful it is to understand and really know history. I started reading about US and World history on my own time, and I have to say, I thoroughly enjoy it now. I have also found a lot that I was taught in highschool to be complete bunk. Which lends more credence to your theory.

Well thought out and worded.

I come from what would be referred to as a "well off" family, we live in Australia, but our society and population face many of the same problems Americans do, since Australia could basically just be called America Junior. Our govt answers to US govt. We have, as far as I can tell, basically the same monetary system of credit and economy. We instantly join any war fought by the US without batting an eyelid. My father, getting on 70 years now, has seen a lot of stuff go down in his time here, and as loving and caring as he can be for his family and friends, when you get down to it he is quite bitter toward the majority of the remaining population, especially those of different races. I don't like passing off judgements like this especially about my old man but it is quite saddening to see him pretty much give up on faith in humanity. Now the reason I mentioned we would be considered "well off" has to do with this point - the old boy has a bit of clout in the immediate area, and has a way of being able to pull strings and get things done when many others given the same opportunities would not know how to do. Given his attitude toward his fellow man and his position within society, I see his personality and level of morality mirrored throughout the entire world within many of the mid-to-high ranking members of all western society. Which brings me to my main point - in a family of 5 I would consider myself to be the only one who has "woken up" to what is really going on in the world and the veil that is over our eyes. Commenting on anything to do with this within my family leaves me feeling alienated as I can see they would consider it as being ungrateful and pretty much completely the opposite of what values they tried to ingrain into me all my life. This also has to do with the fact that the old boy has worked pretty dang hard for what he has, and I know he feels like that too, so to bite back to the system and the hand that feeds is pretty much going against all known instinct for him.

So that basically wraps up the problem from my end of the spectrum - those who have any power at all in this system are not willing to give it up because in this world of poverty and sadness those who have anything are going to hold onto it for as long as they can. We are not going to see a lot of change on a global scale until the older members of the world pass or retire, as they are the one's who have built up the power and perpetuate the racist and capitalist ideals. Not that I want my old man to pass away - far from it! But before he leaves this lifetime and enters another, it would mean so much to me to see his ideals change toward love for our fellow man and other races, no matter who they are, but to influence this change of morals seems to be an impossibly daunting task.

I apologise for my rant that may have gone off topic more than once, but my point is getting people to change on a mass scale in this world is extremely difficult, but not impossible. Just give it a little more time. We have made so much progress as a species in the last 50-100 years in tolerance, it is growing at an exponential rate, and there is going to come a point where the minorities of this world become majorities - I just hope when this happens we can break out of this vicious cycle and start to live like we were meant to!

I have been reading ATS for quite a while, but only recently I have made an account in which to comment, and I'm not quite sure how one "S&F's", but I shall work it out shortly to share the love to your wisdom. Worldwide awakening is imminent.

I encourage anyone who agreed with the OP to check out philosopher Stephan Molyneux because he explains very clearly and precisely the cause of what the OP talks about: THE STATE!. Not being able to be self sufficient is almost always a result of government regulation. If we didn't have the mandatory indoctrination centers (aka public schools) then the problems that the OP talks of regarding education would vanish.

Stefan Molyneux is pretty popular on youtube (user name stefbot) and basically he endorses what he calls the non-aggression principle which to sum up, means that no one has the right to initiate the use of force against another person. If we are to agree with this premise of non-aggression (I don't see how any sensible person couldn't agree), then Government (The State) is something that we can not support.

We collectively agree to give the state a monopoly on the use of force (the free reign to use force is basically the one simple thing that could define the state actually) and this is of course absurd.

I understand that it would be both impossible and not desirable to switch to a stateless society overnight but we need to start moving in that direction or else I honestly think that humanity's days are numbered.

It's unfortunate that many people and even the OP himself is against the A word, (anarchy), and due to the taboo associations with the name (chaos, disorder, destruction, etc.) but real anarchy just means a free society.

To summarize, the OP describes the dishonest and corrupt nature of education, banking, economics, etc. and I am in total agreement. However, the elephant in the room is THE STATE. Without the state's tentacles reaching into every single aspect of our society (especially those listed above), the world we be a truly free place and the psychopathic few elite who control everything with secret handshakes in backrooms would not be able to manipulate and control everyone as they do now.

I'm in agreement with everyone needing to head towards being self sufficient. You don't need to do it all yourself. Start by gathering some like-minded friends to grow some crops. If you don't have a farm or garden, then the guerilla approach might work. Carrots taste great from some wastelands! This happened in a town near me

Here are my personal predictions and thoughts about what will happen next. I work in IT for a "Big Four" UK bank which provides me regular insider knowledge that I can use to join dots up with.

I visit users in all teams in head office with +6,000 people under 3 roofs, from the cleaners to the top execs, I speak to them all. Needless to say, I know how old and simple their banking systems are. You don't see many AS400 type terminal emulators being used any more. We've made a GUI for each and every one so you can start being productive on your first day! Cost saving: zero. Support costs: £1,000,000 a year - more than enough to train a few people mainframe hotkeys.

Meanwhile execs are tapping away on 6 year old laptops that take 10 minutes to boot up
Add a credit crunch from the USA and a hostile takeover in 2008 which has taken the share price from £11.50 in 2007 to 30.38p today.

Engineers might have to take a slight pay cut while we rebuild our new economies into credit unions but we can make them simple and make them fair.

The transition point could arrive overnight, so I propose that we should all stash a bit of food and water while the unprepared are queueing outside their banks again.
I'd advise you to buy some dry bulk foods and tinned food in case any takeover / rejection plans don't go too smoothly.

The whole world seems to have synchronised their monthly cycles now and we get to hear a snip of news from the other side of the world minutes later from the event. The ripples of information are deafening, but judging by the scores of stars and flags on this thread, it appears that we are singing from similar songsheets.

People like us are flicking through ATS pages looking for the plausible and the provable and... here it is!! The terrible truth of where we are right here, right now!

I suspect the reader and I have recently been self-imprisoned in what David Icke refers to as "home". Not wishing to socialise every night and not having the money or energy. (Or maybe that's just me 20 years ago!!)

Credit Unions are sprouting up all over the place which is a good thing. Your town or village could print it's own cash without Franklin or the Queen's head on it!
We'd happily exchange it with neighbouring towns for goods and services. If big business want to stay in the picture, they will need to buy into it too but the central banks are now redundant.
It's lots of little systems that they would need to assemble back into a pyramid - with them at the top of course!. That would be one tricky Rubik's puzzle!

Anyone who has travelled through Laos knows you need to carry three currencies; local Kip for drinks and food, Thai Baht for furniture and American Dollars for plane tickets..

As long as everyone has faith in the system, it will work. You just have to watch out for the day the "former rich" people will try and muscle back in with their mantras like "we've turned over a new leaf, and we have gold to trade!"

In the meantime, a well thought-out network of credit unions would free our shackles from loan sharks, hiked fossil fuels and maybe add a spark to some little industries along the way.

A lot of good ideas there.

One thing that I am not sure about is this:

For the ones smart enough to ask questions, they instituted the standard 40 hour work week to keep us too busy and tired from scrambling around to ask questions.

I thought the 40 hour workweek came about through the increased power of the workforce due to the advancement of labor unions. Before the rise of the unions, workweeks were much longer.

Yep, that's exactly correct. The unions and the socialists demanded a shorter workweek as part of their human rights demands. People in socialist countries do work less hours and seem less highly motivated.

Everything you've stated is exactly what I think about 24/7 so I commend you for typing it all because I'd never have the energy to do it. Life is a complete sham and everything is very transparent to me especially government. Nothing's EVER going to change no matter if the president is white, black, male, female, straight, gay etc. Everyday I start to get bugged out a little more and more wondering why 99% of the population doesn't see what I see but I guess when the Universe is ready to wake them up they'll be awoken.
