As far as me being 'sheltered. I went to a 80% black junior high and high school. I grew up in the LAX area of L.A. I was jumped into a crew at 13 and knew Rollin Sixties Crips, Piru Gangsters, Hoover Bloods, 18th Street, APB Bloods, Inglewood family. Hung around them too, Dated some real crip girls in high school too. They drove Suzuki Samurais and had blue fingernails and blue ribbons in their hair...PURE crip girls.

And you ALSO missed the part where I was INVOLVED in the Hip Hop scene deeply in my early 20s.

You can have a song about a topic and it not be glorifying it. This song as about robbery/murder but is clearly talking bad about it. Most hip hop artists have songs DISSING all the bad things that go on in the ghetto. Then a few tracks later might have a song telling a story about it or talking about it.



I don't think how many people realize how cut off from the rest of the world people that live in the ghetto are. When I had the chance to move to the suburbs in my mid teens I was literally shocked. I felt like I moved to a different country. It sounds so ridiculous but it is TRUE.

Anyway, gangsta rap isn't even popular anymore. Kanye, Kid Cudi, Drake, Nicki Minaj, BoB, most stuff on the radio is not about gangsta stuff. It is largely seen as corny nowdays, especially if you are trying to get on the radio.

I don't need to think again or read a link. It's about knowledge of how things like culture and music evolve. I agree that the negative Rap is pushed by the largest Record companies, but who do you think owns those companies. It certainly isn't black people. Hip Hop only became about the bling and violence once the Major Record Labels started to exploit the genre.


I am not saying that hip hop was started by cultural marxists - merely that it was artificially promoted by them to further the cause, thanks to their stranglehold on all forms of media.


The whole trick is to get you to 'tolerate' what will destroy you, under the guise of being a high minded liberal - and then to outlaw anyone pointing that out as some form of hatespeech.

It was created in NYC by dj's and people that decided to chant over the track. It happened organically, it wasn't "created".
